Kingdoms at War - 01/02/13 Update

Discussion in 'Past Events' started by admin, Jan 2, 2013.

  1. I'm amazed by the thought in some of these posts that the devs actually know what they are doing? Change after change that actually defeats the object of the change proves this point. Their explanation for lag proves this point. They say they are updating hardware to help the lag issue. This means their current hardware is not good enough. They say the match ups are flawed because not enough clans sign up for war. While I accept this as a perfectly reasonable explanation can you imagine the lag issue if more clans signed up? The reason this game is in so much turmoil is because those who decide on what changes they make do not have the intelligence to foresee the consequences. If we do away with the tower build issue then the advantage will eventually go to hansel builds people were already going that way before the emergence of the tower build. Pros and cons to everything as long as rules are involved. It's apparent devs don't have the intelligence to resolve it so just let it be people with intelligence will work out how to win regardless in time.

  2. You guys better not get rid of the tower build, that would be crossing the line. There are ways to beat it, and if you can't or don't want to, build a tower build yourself. You can't just destroy the mechanics of a build that someone worked hard over months or even years to create.

  3. Hansels have the ability to dominate any build, they just have to work harder on towers. THAT'S why they want them gone

  4. IMO towers does hav some advantage by staying dtw to atk as long as keeping spy pinned. While its not impenetrable, throw in few more towers and pair them with handful of big spies, only a clan full of lbs or another twr/hansel clan can hav enough spy troop to cause enough ko's to level the playing ground.

i always tot builds hav a scissor-paper-stone effect. Hitters atk hybrids, hybrids atk hansels, hansels ass hitters. Pure spy will be kinda neutral ass all while open to all atk while gold is out.

So to balance this build while avoiding future ee wars with rosters full of twrs/hansels facing each other, I would like to see the twr mechanism to be slightly Twitched. Not too drastic a change to be fair to those who adopted the conversion. But maybe loop the twr build into the above build relationship?

Normal hitters seems to be losing some edge in ee wars. One possible solution could be making twrs who are dtw to atk from hybrids and hansel, open to a hitter with less than 20% land with spy building?

Resulting build relation could be hitters (less than 20% spy bldg) atk twrs, twrs atk hybrids and hansels (while dtw to them), hybrid (more than 20% land with spy bldg) atk hansels, hansels ass hitters. Pure once again neutral.

Jus an idea. Could encourage more strategic use of all builds rather than dump all the twrs and hansels u can gather into a clan and pwns all balanced clan rosters in ee wars

  5. Level the playing field* 

  6. Not bad Eli. Maybe add tower v tower to attack v tower and we're getting somewhere.

  7. Take away the ONLY advantage of having a tower build and I want all of my plunder returned, make it equal to earning top plunder as a hansel or spy build

  8. Why would they EVER make it a top earner while 20 of the buildings are passive/static? That idea is sillier than the exploit.

  9. Some suggested opening twr to another twr. This def introduce more twr blds into the sys and many painted the pict of having clans full of twrs and hansels looking at each others.

Previously, the introduction of 13 atk pots made hansels my fav. Even my 40k atk (2mil cs) hansel with negligible bfa and equipments hav around 15-20% chances of atk thru a decent t4 bc hitters on low trp.

Then came t5 and hybrid is my new fav as the plunder king. Decent plunder while more meat range against hansels with 0 gold.

Only hitter builds is lack of any special use as a counter measure to another build. b4 there's t5, hitters will naturally sit on Hybrids due to the distribution of stats limited by t4 bc. But now as ppl ug at diff rates, u will find hybrids with better atk/def than hitters.

Hitter or warriors is the first build tat comes into Kaw. I think this build deserve a better role in ee wars by being the counter measure to twr builds. Shd be a Gd compromise not to penalize those who converted while adding more tactical elements into wars

  10. False.

I want the build gone because when you can hit someone, and they cannot hit you, it's unfair. Apply that to hansels if you like, I don't care. The DTW mech is unfair.

Get to work, bro. Glad someone has all the answers. What game apps did you design?

  11. Probably towers are having an advantage now, since they can be dwt in troops with 0 spies. One of the points is that if I have troops I should be able to hit troops on towers, but let's imagine towers were gone, and there is a war between a high troop building with low spies, against a big pure spy or a big hansel, here spies and hansel has the advantage since they can ko just assassin, they can hit both with his strongest troops and they can sit easily on them. Attackers buildings can't hit spies with their troops so one of the reason there are many towers now is because of that. If towers are gone, spies will have the advantage and would be the monopoly building in wars. Spy vs spy war would be more entertained war than tower vs tower? Maybe but still would a monopoly game at least for wars

  12. Combatting a tower build requires multiple hansels to pin them. Whilst being DTW to attacks when their troop bar is full.

Regardless of the common argument that this is "strategic" and "easily defeatable" - look at clans who are heavy with tower builds. The ratio of success is massive.

If half of KAW switches to this build, EE wars, and the new war system will be junk. Turtle wars part 2. Enrollment is already declining.

  13. Enrollment is down because payout isn't worth the hassle of organizing and dedicating at least 4 hours of uninterrupted real life time.

    Increased payout=increased participation=better matchups=less whining and complaining

  14. No. Payout is awesome.

Mith used + pots used + a win = good payout.

If your clan or your opponant is not using mith or pots, the pool is lower for payout. Seems you are not winning, or your fellow warriors are cheap.

  15. That is not true Cannon. Not a single soul in here has said abolish towers. All anyone is saying is remove the dtw for attack from the specific kind of towerbuild that can have full troop and still be dtw. no other build has anything similar. If that is removed by all meams if you like towers build of them. Nobody cares. Just dont leave open an exploit that allows one and only one kind of build to be almost immune to attacks.

  16. I find the tower build useful for EE, not doubt. Just having a few LCBC tower builds on your side can turn the ride a little, same with pure spies, Hansels, and attack builds. EVERY BUILD HAS A WEAKNESSES!! I personally think the tower build is a little unfair, but you need a big Spy bfa for it to actually be effective. Yeah

  17. This "tower build" is no strategy at all, just people hiding behind towers because they are too scared to fight without it. This is just a type of cheat, it takes so many people to pin them and when they come out of pin it takes more to pin them again. What's the point in that? Abuse the game, have people try to pin you, they fail...do people with tower builds get like some sort of excitement out of not being able to be pinned? You don't make much from what i've seen, you're like a turtle. Hiding in a shell, sooner or later someone is going to get so very angry at it and find a way to beat it. Reverse Tower build anyone?

    meh /endrant

  18. @ IlIlIl-SF_Eli_LSM-7s1nS-lllIll

The issue as I see it is simple. For all non-tower builds, regular fight mechanics are suspended for EE. Excluding the tower build, in EE any build can fight any other build provided they have troops. Similair for spy attacks.

No one has yet explained the intention of suspending normal dtw mechanics in EE for all builds except the tower build. Was that intentional or an oversight?

Personally I like the idea that no one is dtw; the new war method is much more fun than fighting from dtw pin. However, if it is possible for a tower build to have troops and not be attacked, I guess everyone converts to a tour build and game effectively reverts to old fight mechanics.

  19. @ willy the deuce,I'm a noob I only played for 12 month, I don't profess to be a game designer. However if a noob like me can forecast what the new rules will evolve into 'war tactic wise' then people who are game designers should also be able to do this. At the end of the day a tower v tower war is no good, neither is a hansel v hansel etc. for wars to continue in current format clans will have to balance builds and work on tactics. I just believe that the devs have tinkered enough and not achieved their stated goals. In fact their changes have led to the opposite if what they aimed to achieve. I think they should leave things alone for a while and let the players come up with strategies, builds, tactics and teamwork to overcome the problems they face. Every new rule just brings about a new way of exploiting it people are very good at that. And people are very good at finding ways to beat the exploitations so just let them get on with it. The quotes you used of me were from different parts of my post and could be taken out of context however there is nothing in the post that is not true. 
