Kim Davies and lgbt marriage.

  1. She was a clerk long before the law changed and forced her to violate her views.

  2. Did the law change sneak up on her? I'm pretty sure someone will have sent her at least an email notifying her that she would now be required to allow same sex marriages. Therefore she CHOSE to stay in that job.

If it was me and I had her beliefs, as soon as that law passed I would of arranged for a way for them to be legally wed without me having to do it. It's simple, the blame and fault still lies with her.

  3. I do believe she tried. The judge said no. There are laws in place in other states that protect people like Kim Davis. If the clerk does not want to give a license, then another one does. It's compromise. It works.
But everybody above Kim Davis failed HER.

    Just gonna leave this here.

I'm done with this constant bickering over simple issues.
 I'm going to have a full head of gray hair by the time I hit thirty because of you people.

  4. Matthew 6:14 "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

Matthew 7:1“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

I'm still having trouble finding the part of the Bible that implies if other people sin it somehow is a sin for you though. If you know the passages Ill read them. Haven't read the Bible in over a decade but I don't remember that passage. The Bibles moral preachings are a ton more benevolent than as interpreted through many of the more extreme churches prevalent in America nowadays.

  5. Ah, there we go. I have been waiting for the turning of this to slighting Obama. Im surprised we made it this far.

Once again stop painting her as a victim. She, through her religious beliefs, denied other citizens their guaranteed lawful rights.

  6. It goes by the same thing. Everybody is a sinner. Everybody has sin, and in gods eyes, no sin is greater than another. That doesn't mean you condone sin. It doesn't mean you just live with it.

  7. Stop painting her as the only bad guy. If there was a law in place like most other states that protects people like her, the gays would have gotten married, and she would have carried on her duties. No altercations.
It is the unfortunate truth that the law is in place. And it is the view of most republicans that we can just coast until election time and fix this stuff. That doesn't work.
Did Kim Davis stand up for her religion? Yes. Was there any compromise where the two men could have gotten their license, and her name would be nowhere on it? Yes.
But that is not what happened, and now there is a Christian woman in jail because of her belief. Because she refused to follow the law that directly clashed with her religion. At no point ever should a law, legal or not, infringe on the rights of a Christian woman.

  8. Passages? I'm not a Christian.

Also I'm pretty sure a woman with 3 ex husbands all of whom she's supposed to commit for life to is really truly worried about every sin being equal. She puts this one above hers because in her Pride she sees sins that don't apply to her as greater ones.

In your Pride you judge others and say they should not be allowed happiness because in your beliefs they are sinners yet in the very act of detesting them you commit sin yourself. As you said, according to you everyone has the ability to sin. You are not to pass judgement of their sin though but expected to provide forgiveness if they so want your brand of it. Your God reserves judgement for himself, in his words.

  9. Zethor you keep mentioning some comprise she asked for but I can't find a single source for that claim .
    I found this however.
"After being found in contempt of court and sent to jail on Thursday, she refused a compromise proposal that would have released her from custody if she permitted her deputies to provide the licences."

    That's from the economist.

  10. That is because Ms. Davies refused any compromise that would have allowed marriage equality.

She was far more intent on making her big protest over the law, than any attempt to abide by it or allow people their Constitutional rights.

But then, if she had made any of the compromises offered, or if she was true to her alleged beliefs and resigned, she wouldn't have all this publicity to spread her hatred.

  11. Ms Davies...

    So unprofessional, what she did.

  12. As a Christian, I think,(or at least I should), that marriage should be kept and divorce shouldn't happen right? If I was a clerk, are you saying that after her 1st or 2nd marriage, I should deny her to remarry her next husband? It goes against the morals of my faith right? Should I or should I not be protected? Because then they'd be sending a Christian man to prison.

  13. Because those people she is discriminating against are paying her salary. It isn't discrimination it is her job. I believe private businesses should be allowed to discriminate against whomever they want. But this is not a private business she is a government official paid by taxpayers of all races, sexual orientations, and whatever else. Her services have already been paid for and now she is denying them based on "Gods authority." God doesn't make the laws and we live in a secular country so either do the job you're paid for it leave. This is not discrimination against Christians. No one will force a church to marry a gay couple and that's fine. But this isn't a private establishment, it's a branch of the government.

  14. Everything people say about this story on defence of Kim ends up coming back to bite them. Fact is she was wrong, could've stopped it all from going to court, but instead continued to discriminate. She is in trouble, and only digs her ditch deeper.

  15. I'm just saying people have religious beliefs right or wrong. In her mind gods view overwrite any politicians maybe she should of just left her job but I still feel that is unfair

  16. If he's a Christian then she knows she has no right to judge, only god has that right. If she's a true Christian she would of just done it, and gone home and prayed for their salvation from their wicked ways.

She's not. She's a wanna be attention grabber. Simple as that.

  17. My right to throw a punch stops before the persons face. I can punch the air all day long and not commit a crime. But if my punching impacts someone's face, I've committed an assault.

Her right to religious freedom stops at the couples right to get married. She is paid to approve marriage licenses. If all legal requirements are met, she has no right to decline the license.

I am a conceal carry holder. I would be extremely pissed off if I met every legal requirement to carry a gun, but was declined because of the secretaries beliefs.

That is essentially what happened in Kentucky.

  18. Seriously dude? Its not like they forced the woman to take the job. She chose this job. She also chose this job with obvious knowledge that time LGBTQA community was fighting for their rights to marriage. She knew when and if they won that she would have to grant them marriage certificates as well.

If she doesnt like her job, if her job duties restrain her from the right to express her religion... she can resign.

There are some people saying to hire one person to give certificates to all marriages and one to heterosexual marriages. But how about I suggest a better idea? Save taxpayers money and fire the bigot and keep the one who will complete their job at all costs.

  19. Although I dont believe in the archaic beliefs of LGBT relationships. I believe everyone has the right to love.

I just wanted to state that before I went onto thank you. This is one of the best statements I've seen towards this whole topic. You're right. Christians are suppose to pray to God for those they believe need to still be saved. They arent suppose to throw what they believe to be sins in his/her face.
