You're right poppabear. The constitution says nothing about marriage. You got me! Constitution has never been changed right? Not 27 times? Well. I'm sure you're loving that amendment where DC holds statehood power, or the 3/5ths compromise. Should those stay as they were?
If we kicked them out the paper would be meaningless. My belongings being owned by whomever after I die, filing seperate taxes and not getting anything for the children. Might as well kick laws that the government gave to marriage, and the benefits with it too since gov and marriage should have no say.
Constitution says nothing about religion passing laws nor which they can choose to ignore. Religion should mind its business.
On the contrary, a large portion of the signers and authors of the constitution were religious scholars. The constitution is FILLED to the brim with religious beliefs and statements
You keep trying to hammer that point home like it's even relevant. It is not. If you want, write a will. Quite sure those would be recognized as legal. Then you don't have to worry about Charli XcX going to the wrong child. Bigger government is bad. Tell me I am wrong. Tell me HOW I am wrong? Tell me how the government inserting itself even further into everyday lives would be a good thing.
Idc if they were Atheists. They do not speak for all ppl being biased as they were. Hardly in line with claims of freedom n democracy n more like a hypocrisy. The Christian mentality in America creates its own divisions n problems. Rightfully so to. There r many sub class examples in America.
its shocking i know, but some counties you can not buy alcohol, what to do what to do, take it to the supreme court as your right as its legal to drink it, just cant buy it. NO you drive to the next county over and get plastered when you get home. Why does everyone got to be so self important
Omg do i have to clean up this mess again? :/ look, kim davies broke the law. She attempted to prevent a gay couple from getting married when the law clearly states that this is prohibited and gay couples are as equally deserving of marriage as straight couples. She chose to use religion as an excuse to break the law. But because it was christianity and there are a fair few people that agree with her actions, people are blaming the gay couple. They're using the excuse that they could go to any other clerk since they obviously knew that the clerk was against it. That isnt entirely fair. Again that is discrimination to LGBT. Let me explain, why should a gay couple have to change clerk but straight couples would not? The answer is of course, they shouldnt have to. It's not disrespectful to her beliefs if shes supposed to do her job and marry the gay couple together and she refuses to do so because they are gay. Zethor tried to argue that religious beliefs are more important than gay rights. This isnt true. Gay marriage or straight marriage is a basic human right. If islamic state decided that for religious purposes they should behead people, that would be wrong. For the simple reason that religious beliefs are not held by everyone. You can chose religion, you cant chose to be gay or straight.
You are an idiot. You are not the savior of this thread. Religious views aside, her oath is to the Constitution of Kentucky, and the United States. Look them both up.
Religious vows have nothing to do with doing ones job or following the law. Keep it personal n cease applying onto others. She is just another example of an ignorant self important idiot.
i barely skimmed over the thread but in general this clerk stood up for what she believed in , if it pisses off people so what anyone could do alot of things to piss anyone off, but in all honesty who gives a *expletive* if u stand up for it great go for it , but its not right to bash another person just because of something they stood up for
To me, shes just islamic state beheading people in a different form. It's just people using religion to justify breaking the law and intruding on human rights.
Every right to bash a bible thumper not doing their duty. They have no rights foisting their personal problems onto others. They can take their prejudice n bias where its allowed where ever that sorry place exists. Employees do not represent their personal opinions for their employers
At the end of the day, her views are her views. She's not harming anyone; she's choosing not to help someone. The Supreme Court can't mandate her beliefs. There are many other options available to those wanting a license. We all knew this day would come when "my rights" cross over into "your rights". Sadly the end of it is nowhere in sight.
im religious i dont thump the bible everytime i see something i don't agree with or my faith , and im not going to blame the gay couple either they had what the supreme court gave them the right to do which was get married , as for the clerk she could do whatever she wanted which she did, in the end both sides stood up for what they believe in , live goes on
Oi nah let people love whoever they want seriously, **** the people that rely on religion and that screw the happiness for other people
I completely disagree with this. She is harming the gay couple, shes discriminating against them and preventing them from doing something any straight couple would be allowed. Imagine how outraged you would feel if even after the law was passed that youre still being discriminated against. Sure religious veiws are a right but theyre not a justification of anyone's behavoirs such as this.
I'm sick of bending over to gays. It's getting really hard and painful now. It's been like this most my life since I was a boy when will it stop?!
