I have a friend who is Christian, He's gay, Most people in the church do not care, It's not all Christians that don't support gay marriage. By the way, Christians, Every eaten pork? (Bacon, Ham, Porkchops, etc.) Welcome to hell... I don't count the new testimont as a true religious book.
i wonder why they bothered putting the old testament in the bible if it doesnt count. Why doesnt it count? It is the word of god, right?
She's been told to follow the law, she holds an elected position she has to follow the laws. What happens if anyone gets to chose the laws they like and only those ones will they follow. I'll also ask this point again as it was ignored. If this was a Muslim man refusing to sign the licences because they would break sharia law what exactly is the reponse to that ? If you use her religious freedoms to defend her law breaking what's to stop it being used in other ways ?
Perhaps the media chooses to mention whatever is relevant to the news; hence why it is called the news. We have email updates and newsletter subscriptions for that purpose.
"Word of god" but who was it written by again?? It's as equally likely that satan tampered with the bible to encourage bad behaviour and send them to hell as it is for god to have tampered with it. The sole fact is that humans wrote it and couldve been under the influence of either.
I met a gay christian on a social networking app. He was welsh and badly bullied by his family and was very scared to say anything to me... I had to stop talking to him because he wasnt used to someone caring so much for his rights and ended up falling in love with me :/ but like... It makes me sad that he was even in that situation. He said that he kept wanting to move out but he was too scared of his dad's reaction... I was worried that his dad beat him but he was adamant that he was verbally abusing him not physically. He said how much he wished he wasnt gay but he couldnt help who he was and whenever i told him that he would just think i was hitting on him but i genuinely meant it
@sweet_pinneaple That's not true, not all Christians are against gay people. I don't know if you know this but they kinda just believe whatever they want.
Stop portraying her as the victim. SHE was supposed to do HER JOB. Her JOB was to license people who were LEGALLY MARRIED. SHE decided her religion is ABOVE law and SHE persecuted INNOCENT people due to HER religious beliefs. If you have a problem with the law (which you do) so be it. Say that. Stop painting her as a victim though. She's the one in this specific instance denying citizens of America their guaranteed rights due to her religious beliefs. Paint it however you want, that's the reality.
I know. Some people are strict on adhering to scripture though. They're usually the PKs, pastor's kids. But read my whole post again. Actually, don't. I pretty much agree with that contention, that not all Christians are against same-sex marriage. ^Regarding the word after 'same' and before 'marriage' that vanished: I wish certain words didn't vanish or that we could bypass without being punished if said in the appropriate context. Oh well. Mods will always be power hogs.
Time for a second American civics lesson. The United States Constitution is the supreme law of the land. When there is a discrepancy between a State constitution and the U.S. Constitution, in an area of law where both are operational, the U.S. Constitution is controlling law. This is why people refer to the U.S. Constitution when talking about their rights as citizens. For example, whenever someone wants to challenge laws regulating guns, they file a claim under the U.S. Constitution, and not under their state laws which may have been far more restrictive. Because of Supreme Court opinions like Heller in 2008, state laws regarding guns must give way to Federal standards. Many people disagree with those opinions, but no State, or agent of the State, may take it upon themselves to decide to ignore the Constitution in favor of their own State views or laws. In other words, we can't simply pick and choose the laws we agree with. Similarly, once the Supreme Court decided Obergefell, no state constitution provision disagreeing with that ruling can be enforced. In other words, an oath to uphold the Kentucky Constitution, is to also uphold the U.S. Constitution, including where the U.S. Constitution has overruled and negated provisions of the Kentucky Constitution. Ms. Davies violated her oath to obey the Constitution, and the law of the land. She refuses to abide by the law and perform her duties as a County Clerk. She should resign or be removed.
You keep saying the law is unconstitutional but it's not. Please show me where in the constitution is says "You may deny other citizens basic rights that are law due to your religion."
Did you not hear anything about her taking the oath to the Kentucky Constitution, which describes marriage as explicitly between a man and a woman? She didn't take an oath to her job or the laws. And she IS the victim. You think the Gays who went there had no idea she would act that way? I can guarantee they knew. They could have gone elsewhere. But they didn't. They had to push. Quit getting loud and belligerent as liberals typically do, and face the facts. The Law is illegal and unconstitutional. The Supreme Court does not pass laws of that magnitude, they are five unelected officials, not the Greek gods. But even IF the law was Legal and Constitutional, HER OATH is to the Kentucky Constitution. Not to her superiors. Not to the law. Her job is to uphold the American and Kentucky constitution, not pander to a liberal agenda and put her religious views aside because her government told her to.
You can't be a Christian and believe gay marriage is OK, however from my understanding you aren't meant to Shun them or condemned that's the lords job you are to still show love but allow them to know you disagree with them. That's to the guy who made it sound like some Christians support gay marriage. personally I don't care.
People like the Westboro Baptist Church have it dead wrong. God doesn't hate gays. God pities gays, as he pities all people. (Allow me to preach for a minute.) Everybody has sinned. Everybody is the same. That doesn't mean that you stay in that sin, you repent of it. But it is impossible to hold all Ten Commandments. Anyway, enough preaching.
