    Chapter Ten: Part Two: The Dark

    Despair

    Let me just say, I was feeling awful today. While my sister was in the Dryad's Garden screaming at vulrals that she was the Light of the World and what not, I felt like the Dark of the World.

    Do you know that the Board of Heroes, which is what we call our little group, gave me the task of Morgur Artidra! The audacity!

    When I woke up this morning, frost coated everything, reminding me of a terrible nightmare I'd had that the night before.

    I'd been chained to an obelisk. And while chained, I'd been given a choice: extinguish the Dark that is Cold or die at the Hands of Light.
    My sister had stood before me with a hand raised, waiting for my decision. I'd chosen to die at the Hands of Light than have the Realm overheat.

    My sister had given me a look of shock before slowly touching her index fingers to my temples.

    I died then and there, my soul ripped from my flesh, I watched in horror as my own body disintegrated.

    What a suckish dream, right?

    I had followed Hope into the Dryad's Garden, stopping to check out some iredags.

    Poor plants, much like the vulrals; which thrived on heat, iredags thrived on cold; they were dying. The brittle blue leaves looked liked they'd shatter if I tapped them.

    I imagined they'd also been given hot water, too.

    Don't these people know how to garden?

    A dryad from the iredag plot scampered out of it's plant; covered in blue, black, and white, the iredag dryads are.

    The dryad looked up at me pleadingly.

    “You are the Dark of the World,” It whispered. “but remember, too much light can be a bad thing, just look at us. The world needs you more than you think. Now, Dark of the World, show us your darkness.”

    Hundreds of more small dryads burst from the iredags.

    The sky began to darken as I floated off the ground, my wings lifting me rapidly, the wind picking up around the garden. Snow flakes fell lightly from the dark clouds above me, but they melted before they even touched the ground.

    That's strange, I thought. I'll just have to turn up the cold.

    The snow fell in sheets now, trying it's best to blanket everything, but it melted even faster in the sky, coming down as hot rain.

    I turned my gaze north towards Hope, and saw her reforming from turning into a heat wave.

    “STOP!” I yelled. “You're going to kill the iredags!”

    “NO, YOU STOP!” She shouted back. “You're going to kill the vulrals!”

    At the last syllable a heat wave slammed into me, knocking me from the sky.

    “Two can play at that game!” I screamed in outrage.

    “I summon the blizzard from the Arctic Circle, freezing rain from the monsoons of Genisot, and cold from Arguce. I summon the powers of Cold.” I whispered.

    When I finished I saw that my sister had accessed her powers, too, for the whole northern area of the Garden looked like it was on fire because of the intense light.

    I maneuvered around an incoming ball of heat, a shimmering haze-like sphere. Charging toward Hope, commanding snow to form a compacted shield in front of me, defending against any oncoming attacks.

    We met at the equator or middle of the Garden, the arctic behind me, the tropics behind her.

    Our shields disappeared at the intense conflicting temperatures. I turned in a circle and found we had several spectators and watchers all around the perimeter, all the familiar faces watching in horror at a spot above us.

    I looked above me and saw what seemed to be a swirling vortex forming at the point where the fronts met.

    “We can do this the hard way, or the easy way.” I said.

    “I choose the hard way.” My sister replied.

    I hit her smack in the jaw with a ball of hail, but before she could respond, I felt a small prickle on my neck, an before I knew it, I was hurtling toward the ground.

    “I am the Dark of the World,” I said just as I was about to hit the dirt. “Protect me, cold of the Earth.”

    Chapter Eleven: The Battle for Control

    Arria

    Even though they'd been knocked from the sky, hit with poison darts that would paralyze them instantly, a war of nature still raged in the Garden and was slowly spreading.

    Rumor had it that not only mine, but the legendary Smighter's darts too, had had the sisters necks, because of the two darts found on each of their necks.

    Half of the Writer's Palace was covered in snow and freezing and the other was seemingly on fire with white-hot temperatures but no actual flames.

    All the elemental users were helping; James was slowly moving ice away from the ground and moving junks of it towards the bottom of the Lorac Canal and Nile River; Star was commanding the winds to blow the snow south, accidentally creating a desert iceland; Matt was drawing heat from the sky and transferring it into the ground to Arguce, a polar empire like the old ancient country of Canada.

    Then there was Lynet, who was trying to calm the tornado; and Alexandria was trying her best to keep the super-slow melting cold side from turning into mud and causing a landslide.

    Pretty soon, I imagined the elements in other places were acting up too. In Arguce: Floods and new bodies of water. In the Selawaro, a desert similar to a place you would call the Sahara, giant tornados moving sand to different places around the Realm, a reaction to the cold and warm fronts colliding. Selawaro would soon be known as the Cold Desert.

    *************

    I slowly drifted back into the cold side, the frosty air biting through my skin and chilling my bones. The temperature had to be below -30° Armanth.

    I made my way to my room, deciding to sort through some notes Lynet had given me about our realm and the old one.

    I found the notes, and two maps, laying on the room's coffee table. I spread the maps out and began comparing the two.

    The old realm is what we call the different countries, nations, an empires before the supernatural revealed themselves.

    The new realm or just 'the realm', is what we call the modern day countries, nations, and empires after the supernatural revealed themselves.

    Continental drift and the movement of the tectonic plates have moved countries and merged into massive continent since the revealing of the supernatural.

    What we believe to be the old realm Africa is connected to Antarctica and South America in the new realm, a huge land mass spreading outwards from their peninsula's.

    Asia and North America are one landmass and Europe still lies where it did in the old realm.

    We call South America, Antarctica, and Africa combined, Alypron, Asia and North America combined, Asylomet, Europe, Eulcad, and Australia and the South Pacific islands, which are combined in the new realm, Zeleste.

    The only thing I hate about these notes, is the length!

    Some important empires and countries of the new world that I will locate for you in old world country terms are:
    Genisot, which is a empire in South Central Asylomet, or in old realm terms Southeast Asia.

    Arguce, an empire made up of the old realm countries Russia and Canada, located in Asylomet.

    Neuro, a vast empire that spans from Eulcad to Alypron. Neuro includes old world Middle East, Northwest India, part of Tibet, and South Europe.

    Dragosia, a country east of Neuro, north of Edam, west of Centega, and south of Arguce. Dragosia includes Mongolia, East Tibet, and Siberia.

    Edamynoe, a political giant just west of Genisot. Edam is located on Alypron but is considered a part of Asylomet because Africa moved south of Asia after the elementals revealed themselves. Edam covers southwest India and Egypt, which is located in the spot where the Arabian Sea used to be.

    Centega, a empire that's spread from East China to the US and Mexico.

    Kartal, located in the old world Sahara, the sister empire of Edamynoe, wealthof knowledge that rivals Fan Fic. Kartal spans from Ethiopia to Mali.

    €rrasi, a economical empire with the most money on it's continent, Zeleste. €rrasi is a empire of the monsoons, thriving in old realm Indonesia.

    Attulis a Sadvisk, the old realm equivalent of Brazil, only located in the new largest rainforest in the world, the Zora. Attulis a Sadvisk is located on Alypron at the place of the joining of the three peninsulas. No one knows how the Zora survives in the lower Southern Hemisphere.

    Yealchi, Ves Otrello, and Shakul'Ira, the Three Antarctic Hierarchies. The reign in the lowest region of Alypron. The most powerful countries in Alypron are The Antarctic Hierarchies. More money comes in and out of those empires everyday than there are troops in the Centurion, which is the largest army in the known realm.

    Amníferi, Gluvia, Tarious, Respurion, and Nabar'Quazal, the Monsoonal Nations. They are home to the largest concentration of precious minerals, rare ores, and essential crystals on the Earth. They make up a new continent known as Likovane, located in the Serpent Ocean. Cygnus himself has asked the great Crinus to build him a coordinating passage into the heart of Likovane, where he has a sub-forge built. Cygnus even has a trading post set up there with the five kingdoms. They teleport precious ores and minerals to his main forge from these posts.

    Serpents, located in Serpents Ocean, slyly named because of the old realm myth of the Japanese, Dragon Triangle, and because the Spirit Empire of Serpents is located deep within it. Rumor has it that on certain days, of certain months, of certain years, the empire reveals itself for a blink of an eye, before disappearing again. Serpent Ocean is located at the point where the Gulf of California or Centega, meets the open ocean. It has a shore along Alaskan/Russian Centega, Chinese Centega, Pansef or Old Realm Japan, The Monsoonal Nations, Alypron, and Southern. Asylomet. Basically, it's a combination of the Indian and Pacific Ocean, just condensed.

    There are SEVERAL others but I'm beginning to bore myself. Don't be sad if you don't understand a lot of what I just read to you.

    ~~~~
    Later that day, after Despair and Hope recovered from their supposed "double" paralyzation.
    The storms stopped, but the environment in other places will remain changed forever.
    I decided to host a meeting for all of us, to make sure we had the same priorities.
    “We all have different reasons as to why we're here today.” I said, staring at everyone with an intent gaze. “Different goals. Different outlooks. But several of those same goals and outlooks, have changed drastically. Initially I'd been hired by the Centurion to assassinate Queen Lynet; my sole purpose for even getting near her, meeting her. Now, I we work side by side, hand in hand, to defeat the Centurion.”
    I paused for good effect, watching as heads nodded around the room. “I could name more goals for you too, like Jerad, his goal was to escort Lady Lynet to Cygnus's forge.
    Lynet's, to find a Serpentine and possibly get enchanted armor and advice from Cygnus.
    King Star, to keep the peace.
    King Matt, because he was told his brother was in Fan Fic.
    Hope and Despair, chained to dungeon floors, beaten and raped, starved and tortured, they fight to end persecution against the elementals. To end torture and abuse; they seek rightful revenge.” I said, emphasizing every syllable, every phrase.
    “Alexandria fights for this cause too, for years the Claymores have been killed, burned, slaughtered, murdered, persecuted.
    For years Angel has been afraid to use his gift of clones.
    For years, Jasper took form inside Jerad from the anger he had over loosing his parents, and James, the insanity of that anger. He will encourage creativity in the tykes if Fan Fic, because his parents never had the chance to encourage it in him.
    Jerad longed for a sibling his entire life, and was gifted with a younger brother the age of twenty-two and a younger sister the age of twenty, himself only being twenty-four. He has searched the globe for these people except in Fan Fic, a prime reason why he is sitting here today.
    Sharlyse has hid in a shadow of doubt over whether to reveal her enhanced nonnative Serpentine abilities, so strong they can pull memories out of the darkest and most guarded place in the mind and make them reality for a time. She is here today because she is confident a woman can rule the throne, a spirit woman at that.“
    Helms and symbols of power radiated throughout the room, a tiny serpent crawling over Jerad's right hand, Frostbite's Helm on his head, a mini tidal wave going in a circle in the air around him.
    A blood red halo above Sharlyse. A green one above mine. A new blackray arrow to match my new blackray bow. Air from the Auran Spheres whirled in miniature tornados around the room.
    Heat and Cold waves soared through the air. Alexandria's hair was covered in black fire. A sword lay in the table in front of me, a sword of the Araeviers, the symbol of Angel.
    “What we need is a leader.” A mysterious voice said from the shadows, making everyones symbols of power vanish except the boy's own, a feathered dart, like the ones in Despair and Hope's neck.
    A few proud looks crossed some faces.
    Then, everyone stared at me and Sharlyse.
    “Or leaders.” The boyish voice said, then revealing the body and face of Smighter.
    The Betrayal
    Lynet
    My brooding anger should've cause a violent storm after the meeting, but instead, it was causing a gentle rain.
    Maybe it wasn't necessarily anger I felt, it was sadness...
    What Arria had said was true, we'd all come together for different reasons, but no one actually knew why the Centurion were after me. Except me.
    One day, when I was small, I'd severely enraged because everyone kept picking on me, calling me names, basically bullying me at school! They didn't understand how I could cause lightning or why my eyes turned grey with yellow streaks through them. The didn't understand why I had a crown in my head.
    They thought I was a freak. They didn't know I was royal, didn't understand my powers to form a solid body.
    Nothing.
    So one day, I was sitting on the school balcony when a bulky like aura came up to me and threw me of the edge. I was so furious, I caused lightning to strike everyone who'd ever picked on me. I summoned wind so powerful, it blew whole mountains apart.
    Auras live in the sky, well, not exactly the sky, more like above the clouds in cities between mountain peaks.
    So when I started blowing up mountains, the Centurion got word of it. They've been searching for me ever since, hungry for my extreme power.
    I have been in hiding for years, but everywhere I go, they follow. They recently sent me a letter addressed to me saying when Fan Fiction falls, so will I.
    I feel as if I'm putting everyone in danger...
    Then, there was Star, the love of my life.
    We'd done some research together on him and discovered he was in fact, a Royal Aura. Since no other auras had shown abilities like mine and his, we figured he was destined to be King and had Cygnus make him a crown.
    I sat alone in my room, wondering whether or not I'd be able to face the evils ahead of me.
    A second after I told myself I'd be able to, I felt a hand on my shoulder.
    I spun around rapidly, only to face a pair of blood red pupils.
    I had a feeling a tug in my gut saying I was in danger.
    I could tell it was a man by all the burns and calluses on the hand that closed around my mouth just as I was about to scream for help. A blindfold was placed over my eyes with another pair of hands.
    I felt a gag replace the mystery guy's hand; felt myself struggle to breathe.
    Alexandria
    I awoke to the smell of dirt, the sound of scraping, and mud in my hair.
    Where am I, I thought.
    Then, when I opened my eyes, I saw the what was causing the scraping tumult: me.
    Metal against dirt.
    My feet were shackled, my mouth covered with a gag, my hands tied behind my back.
    I screamed in outrage! I was so infuriated my hands burst into flames.
    The metal cuffs on my hands melted at the heat of my black fire.
    I lashed out at a screaming woman beside me, raking my nails across her face, using my powers to age the scratches, causing infection.
    The claw marks began to rapidly decay, the infection eating away at the skin, turning it black, causing her entire face to stink and begin to rot.
    In moments, she was dead.
    I set the carriage that was dragging me on fire, burning the people inside with it. I began to set my shackles on fire when I heard a scream.
    I realized I were in the clearing where that guy, Kaedus, said the battle would take place. When I looked across, I saw a seen that looked like it was straight out of a horror story.
    It was was that new girl, Sharlyse, and some man, who was chaining her to a rock.
    I couldn't see his face, but when he looked over at the other side of the clearing and saw I was free, his red eyes lit up with surprise.
    That's when Sharlyse fought back, commanding the chains to unlock and wrap around the mystery man.
    I ran over as fast as I could, my feet seemingly gliding over the ground.
    “You okay?” I asked Sharlyse before going stone-still.
    “Cygnus?” I whispered, “Why'd you do this?”
    “Because,” He said sadly, a tear leaking from his cheek. “A decade ago, I was the General of The Centurion. Now, since they discovered I was in fighting against them, they said... They said they'd kill my family back in Centega 'less I tie the female elementals up, I got all but Hope and Despair.”
    A red halo hovered over Sharlyse's head as she leaned over and touched her index fingers to Cygnus's temples.
    After a moment she said, “He's telling the truth.”
    Just then I heard what sounded like the beating of dragon wings, the roar of beast, and the sound of a war horn.
    “They are here...” Cygnus whispered, “Prepare for a deadly battle.”
    I let my mind travel underground, through the roots of plants, gathering information on the whereabouts of Arria and Lynet.
    Then, when I opened my eyes, they were right beside me.
    “You just sprang up through the ground!” Arria exclaimed, and I saw chain marks on her wrists.
    “Follow me.” I said as I turned all three of us into mud an transported us over to Sharlyse.
    “Do you think y'all can use y'alls Serpentine powers to teleport us to the Palace and raise the alarm?” I asked her and Arria.
    “Sure.” They replied.
    <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
    Star
    Black blood gushed from my severed veins of my cranium, my life-force slowly fading away. Death lurked within the darkest asylum of my mind, slowly breaking free.
    Darkness began filling my vision from the outside in, like a circle getting smaller.
    I lay on the ground, shuffling toward my doorway.
    I tried my best to maintain what little bit of visuality I had, avoiding the expeditiously pooling blood around me. I was careful not to get it in my eyes since I had my head on the ground from the pain.
    Why would he do such a thing? I asked myself over and over.
    “Help,” I screamed in agony and excruciating pain. “Please, help me!”
    When I heard no one answer my call, I decided, slowly, to give up hope.
    Bright lights flashed outside my window and I could hear the wall outside in the hallway crumble. Before I succumbed to unconsciousness, I heard the screams of what sounded like my terrified queen.
    • Chapter Thirteen: The Eastern Battle
      Kaedus
    Telepathy was being used on the battle field. Everywhere I looked, purple light seemed to fill the enemies eyes.
    Did I mention Thorlas was the one wielding this incredible ability? Only the most auspicious of people get the gift of cerebral powers.
    I might of forgot to mention this but, the Genotians? Traitors to the Heroes, the name I came up with for the honorable side. I call the enemy side Immoralia. The army of Genisot would pay for this offense.
    Blood leaked down the side of my face, a wound from the Genotian general Reshaud Acsriot.
    General Acsriot is an earth user. He's able to split the earth, create people from clay, create mudslides, crumble mountains, and cause earthquakes.
    As I battled him, I felt his brown aurora surround me, pulling me into the earth. His green eyes flashed a deep chocolate brown, and I felt myself slowly melting. He was trying to turn me into mud.
    I teleported behind him, slicing off his arms with swift blows. I was expecting him to die instantly when I sliced open his head but, of course, you never know with earth users.
    His arms reattached, and I watched as the bones mended themselves, the nerves reattaching.
    Hmm, maybe later, when Thorlas is through, I thought, teleporting away just as he split the earth beneath me.
    I hadn't thought about where to teleport to and ended up on the back of a horse in a small squadron of Spammer Calvary.
    Instantly I was surrounded by several pairs of glowing orange eyes, the color of torture. Every warrior in the squad held up a hand, a beam of fiery orange light going up from each palm.
    When I looked up, the beams were connecting, forming a large circle right over where I was standing. I realized to late what was happening. The beams descended rapidly, circling around me, dragging me to the ground.
    Pain wracked my body. I felt as if I was being water boarded, over and over again. Orange chains wrapped around my wrists, my skin beginning to bubble, the chains burning my skin.
    I screamed for Thorlas, mentally and verbally. The tortures laughed, harsh, evil laughs, that made my skin crawl.
    I coughed up blood, teeth included when one of them punched me in the mandible.
    I could feel my brain shutting down, my body going numb from the pain. I looked up, watching as their leader touched my forehead. Right when I felt his touch, a orb-like sphere of water came out of nowhere and floated in front of me.
    He pressed my head into it, and I breathed in a mouthful of water. I was gonna drown here.
    • Chapter Thirteen, Part Two: The Western Battle
      Lynet
    Star’s room was a mess. Bloody fingerprints and claw marks glistened on windowsills, as if someone…or something, had been trying to escape. The windows themselves were shattered. The eastern wall of his room looked as if it had been busted through, an empty silhouette on the wall where something had rammed through it. Wet blood covered the floor, along with mud, a single black feather, some bricks, and destroyed furniture.
    Star lay near the doorway, unconscious and covered in bruises, gashes, and at the crown of his head, a single black feather. I leaned down and saw that it had been glued to his head with his own blood. The horror of it all was almost too much to bear.
    Suddenly his eyes opened and he looked up at me with a blank expression.
    “You are pretty!” He said.
    “Star, are you alright?” I asked.
    “I am Star?” He inquired.
    “Well duh!” I replied.
    Arria walked up from behind me, kneeling down beside me to examine Star.
    “He has gone insane. Someone has wiped his memories.” She stated, her black eyes turning that deadly, and sickening shade of green.
    “He was here!” She hissed. “He’s in the palace!”
    “Go! Take her with you, I’ll watch over Star. We must put the castle on lockdown.” I told Alexandria, pushing Arria and Sharlyse towards her.
    Take his powers… A voice that didn’t belong to me whispered in my mind. He will die anyway… Take his powers… Do not let them perish with his body.
    “Who’s in my head?” I asked aloud, though I really didn’t care.
    At first I thought the idea was essentially wrong but as I began to ponder the thought, I slowly began to like it. Lust for power and greedy thoughts collided with my pure and blessed train of thought. I immediately felt another presence in my head and I could tell it was evil.
    The only problem: I liked the way it felt.
    I lost control of my body as the other force took over, guiding my hand over where the source of Star’s power rested… his heart.
    White wisps of smoke began coming forth from Star’s chest, spreading throughout the room. Once all of his powers – or so I thought – were finally gone, I opened my mouth and instantly the wisps flooded my mouth, making their way down my throat and into my heart through the casing of my stomach.
    I had stood up when my powers were being merged with Star’s, but when it was over I collapsed next to Star.
    “I’m sorry… I had to!” I said, though Star was clueless as to what I was even sorry about.
    “Make me a new body, this one hurts me.” Star said, a big goofy grin on his face masking an underlying pain.
    “I – I can’t. I’ll try and get you some help though.” I said, picking him up gently.
    I walked over to the window, lifting his body outward then upward to catch the western wind.
    “Take him to wherever safety lies. If you must give him to the East wind of any other for him to be safe, please do!” I said before letting go of him and watching him plummet to the quadrangle before coming back up again.
    As soon as I let go of him I heard war horns sound.
    It was time to prepare for the most epic battle since the Crusades of the Old Realm. Ever since the supernatural revealed themselves, me being one of the supernatural only I was born after the revelation though, we’d dropped guns and taken up swords.
    _______________________________________
    Green, lush grass covered the battlefield. Valley walls the color of red surrounded us. Snow covered mountaintops soared above us. The air was warm. A dragon roared somewhere in our ranks, blowing out a fireball. Lightning crackled above me. A giant strand of fork lightning landed right front of me, setting the surrounding area on fire.
    Elves scattered and a few faeries screamed. I tugged on the lightning, breaking it from the sky like a chip of wood on a chair. I held it in my hand, ready to throw.
    The battle field sparkled and shined like a diamond, the sun reflecting off the armor of more than a thousand friends and foes. I felt like I was at the North Pole, all the different people's auroras flaring like the aurora borealis.
    James stepped forward from our defense line. A man about his size stepped forward from the enemy line. He was the general of the despicable army that threatened Fan Fiction.
    James sword materialized beside him and he quickly grabbed the hilt. A huge crossbow materialized in front of the general, known as General Pokerob.
    A malicious glance pass between them before the both shouted, “Attack!”
    This was the battlefield where I'd been chained up at! This is where they tried to capture me! I would not lose this war!
    |~|~|~|~|~|<>|~|~|~|~|~|
    • James, Jerad, and Jasper
    How wonderful is it that I, James, get to start the battle off!
    Fire spread across half the sky over the enemy, while dark snow clouds covered the other half. Two winged figures darted out of those weather phenomenons, Hope and Despair. They were on another plane of existence, the one where demons and spirits could be seen in full view, the one where they could access their powers to the fullest.
    As blue smoke began to envelope Despair, a crossbow bolt hit me in my left shoulder, ripping though the back side. I stuck my finger in the hole and watched it come out on the other side. I began to laugh hysterically, shooting three foot ice shards at General Pokerob in a fit of my pure insanity.
    More bolts began flying at me, each one blocked by an ice shield. Suddenly I was Jerad, my sword turning into the one Cygnus made well, I guess you could say it was me but it was really for him. Our conscience separated and I was fully Jerad. My trident donned my back.
    I put my sword in the buckler at my waist and took the trident off my back. I began swirling the trident above my head like you would a lasso. The eternal supply of Coral Wells water in the base began to turn green. I began stabbing the ground in a hurry, watching as the enemy line advanced.
    Water began to heal my wound.
    Water began to shoot out of the ground, rapidly separating us from them. Water flooded their side of the battle field while ours stayed dry.
    I turned around, searching for my sister. While I ran to find her, I saw Lynet rise into the sky, storm clouds surging and shifting around her before she was completely obscured from view. A huge lightning bolt was in her right hand. Lightning simultaneously began to shoot from the sky.
    Black fire shot towards the ever faster swirling storm clouds. I saw Alexandria pull the earth right out from under a legion of Centurion.
    I began to switch into Jasper. My thoughts becoming his. Slowly, Jerad's sword and trident became my own sword. Ptolemy's Cloak lay on the ground beside me. I dropped my sword and slipped one arm through one sleeve, and the other arm through the other sleeve.
    I raised my sword, moonlight glinting off the blade and reflecting onto the valley walls. And that's when I saw him. That sneaky, ugly, heartless, murderous, treacherous, anserine, imbecilic, lying, kidnapping, coward, known as Cygnus. He was sneaking out of the valley.
    He had stolen my sister, my new friends and family. No one did that to me. No one! As he cloned up the valley wall I summoned a giant wave to push him back down.
    “Having fun running away?” I screamed at him as I ran toward his body.
    I stood over him, my sword tip above his heart.
    “I repent,” He in a loud whisper. “for all of my sins.”
    “I can never forgive you Cygnus. Never. But God has.” I whispered before stabbing him.
    • Hope
    Even though we were putting forth our best efforts, The Heroes were losing bad. Immoralia had lots more troops. Blood mixed with the water Jerad had summoned to create a reddish color of muddy water. I watched as monsters entered the fray, a gigantic ape from Zora, int huge fists pummeling a quadroon of writers.
    That's when a giant entered the battle.
    They called him Morgur, Morgur Artídra.
    Right when he entered the battle, stepping over the mountain and into the valley, I lost control of my body.
    Fire encircled me. I felt myself dying.
    • Despair
    I watched as my sister convulsed from afar. I knew what was wrong.
    Hope disappeared for a second. Suddenly, a phoenix shot out of the sky. This thing had to be the size of a adult giant, possibly bigger. It dived for Morgur and a giant serpent that a Mage had summoned earlier.
    It's light was so bright, I couldn't loom at it. That glimpse was all I needed though.
    It had wings that looked like they'd been sculpted from the sun. Every individual a different shade of red, yellow, or orange. It's talons were on fire, I could feel the heat from here.
    I commanded a snowy haze to fall down on my side of the enemy line so it wouldn't be so bright. Even with it being midnight it made it look like it was day. Lynet threw her lightning bolt at Morgur right before the Phoenix reach him. The next thing that happened was so awful, I couldn't look.
    After that, we started to win. The Phoenix had tied the serpent in a not and was using it to drown the soldiers in the ever-rising neck high water.
    I lifted my hands and listened as the water began to freeze.
    “Heroes! Leave the water! Go to the dry side!” I screeched.
    I watched as our side retreated from the flooded side just as Immoralia's side froze.
    That's how the battle ended. Angel shattered the ice and we watched as the bodies inside broke apart and crumbled.
    • Chapter Fourteen, Part Three: The Northern Battle
    • Winter
    Cadre after cadre, legion after legion, platoon after platoon, warrior after warrior they rose from the ground. People called them Warriors of the Noonday Sun, Assassins of the Sand, Destroyers from the Desert.
    At first all you could see was a warriors head, only made of sand. Soon a torso would appear, followed by legs and feet. Sand would spill off the warrior before he or she solidified into a human being.
    A dull, monotonous beat of a drum could be heard from beneath the ice, meaning the King was about to rise.
    Amelia, the capital of Arguce, was nestled between two peaks of a mountain. It was a bustling, loud, busy city, but today it was quiet. I stood on the Wall of Arrival and Leaving, the wall that protected Amelia.
    I watched as the King arose from the glacier at the foot of the mountain. His southern warriors would have to climb up from the valley to get to Amelia. Perfect.
    I was just about to step off the wall when I heard a roar.
    Ancient Moon, a song people around the world knew, played in the background.
    Fire rained from the sky, black clouds of smoke and soot surrounding me.
    An unknown force pushed me over the side of the wall and I knew I was plummeting to my death.
    Or was I.
    “I am the Prince of Arguce, Son of Kind Darius and Queen Ariadne! FEAR ME!” I screamed as I flipped over onto my stomaching, landing on the glacier in a crouching-pounce position.
    I pulled my sword from my back and in an arc, split the ground in two. Pain wracked my body just as the avalanche started.
    I screamed and screamed and screamed, my back going inwards like the lesser-known form of scoliosis. Frost covered my body and my long-sleeve shirt became a short-sleeve shirt. My coffee skin bulged with muscles and my wool pants became shorts swollen with muscles underneath.
    Just as the snow was about to cover me flew up into the air forty feet, landing in the hard packed snow.
    I was just putting my sword into it's sheath when they grabbed me.
    Angels of the Southern Desert which name I didn't know. A dragon flew down from Amelia, apprehended me with it's teeth, and flew me toward on the of the many new lakes in the southern part of the country.
    This part of the country had been effected by the battle in Dryad's Garden in Edamynoe.
    I felt myself plummet for the second time that day, and this time, I knew for certain I was gonna die.
    My death would be perpetual.
    • Sharlyse
    After the battle against the Immoralia in Edamynoe, I decided to go to Serpents. Just in time to, because a few hours after I got there, demons attacked.
    They weren't real demons of course, just creatures of the realm with a few actual ones mixed in.
    Dryads in the form of fire. Naiads rising out of the depths of the ocean, taking the shapes of dragons, tigers, lions, and even giant squids. Demons with hundreds of heads, huge claws, the whole nine yards. Unicorns made of diamonds. Stone djinni everywhere!
    I stood above a pool of water, admiring and brooding my reflection. My red breast plate, made by Cygnus before he died and kidnapped me, was made of a thick metal, enchanted with my Serpentine powers. Under that was an elastic, cool and airy material that surrounded my breasts, shaping around them.
    The breast plate didn't cover it though, it was positioned under it, making it really a stomach plate, I guess. A demon had attacked me earlier, clawing at that exposed area, but didn't make not one tear.
    My long, iridescent brown hair no longer looked pretty. It looked ratchety, the neat curls I thought were perpetual were totally gone! My skin looked dry, all moisture gone from it. When I unclipped my shin-plate, a think gunk of blood, sweat, and lotion had formed. At least I still had moisture there.
    An incoming fire dryad snapped me out of my daydream.
    “Sinestro!” I screamed, transforming into a giant spirit griffin, raking my talons across the dryads back and absorbing the fire, letting it lick across my body.
    I wasn't actually a griffin. My aurora was. From anyone else's point of view, I was just floating in the sky, in the head of a translucent griffin, slowly being set on fire.
    Anything I did, the griffin did. You know the movie Avatar? That's kinda like what I was doing. Accessing my spirit and displaying it.
    As the fire left it's body, I realized who the dryad was and what it was. It was a serpent, with black eyes and giant teeth. Who it was? You'd never guess!
    “Hello, Sharlyse.” Augustus said, altering his appearance to where he looked like a diseased dryad.
    “Long time no see...” He exclaimed, a tongue the color of rotting tree bark flickering in and out of his mouth.
    My confidence shattered. He scared me. He morphed his hand into a scythe, slowly cutting of the griffin's feathers and cutting my side. The fire seemed ineffectual, which if you think about it is weird since trees are highly flammable.
    It's because he created them... Someone else spoke in my mind.
    I maneuvered around him, turning into a fire breathing dragon and spewing red hot flames all over him.
    He screamed in vain, no one coming to save him.
    “Catch you on the flip side!” I said.
    There, below me, was a blue Phoenix. An evil phoenix. Before I could reach it, the explosion happened.
    Like a nuclear catastrophe, the world around me went up in flames.
    Before I died, I remembered the old saying: Fire to dryads make the trees blowup. I didn't know it was literal.
    Star looked at the guy across from him, white eyes, bushy eyebrows, and a beard stood out in his tan face.
    “Where am I?” Star screamed, his handcuffs digging into his skin. “Who are you?”
    “My name is Winter, although some people add an ‘s’. I am the Prince of Arguce.” Winter said.
    “I think my name is Star.” Star said.
    Winter looked at the other prisoners. A beautiful women with a red stomach plate, with breast fabric attached. A giant man with purple eyes.
    Each if them was unconscious.
    “Rhöl, help us all.” Winters said, after watching a gash open over Star's eyes.
