  1. you still around ?

  2. Last great rapper was 2Pac. Rest of rap n hip hop now are trash. All about marketing n hype, but no substance in their words. Young thug and other crap is what hip hop is now, can't understand what dude says, like a cat getting strangled our something.

  3. You forgot eminem. And some drake songs aren't bad at all tbh.

  4. Drake isnt a rapper, he is a nickelodeon star!

  5. Frog, please leave this thread. Your consistent and annoying images are one thing, but the offensive nature of your post is quite another. Thank you.

  6. Good way to put it. There is no SUBSTANCE. Agree 100% on that.

  7. The other drake, not Drake Bell

  8. You just have to look for new artist. Very few can get into their 3 and fourth albums while remaining their artist integrity. The money is way to tempting and only a fool would turn it down.

  9. I was always on the fence with Kanye West. I kinda liked his first album.

They guys coming back from Iraq were listening to Late Registration. Drive Slow was the only song I'll listen to anymore off that one. Like '06

Kanye did one performance I seen that made me think a little differently of him. He was in white shoes and pink suit or something. Crawling around on the floor asking 50 cent if he is gay or something. 808's I can't remember the name of performance?

Dudes eccentric. Runaway stuck out on his last album or whatever order it is in, but it's not really my style so I passed. It seems like rich folks music. Like a lot of other stuff.

  10. Explain "rich folk" music please

  11. Personally I always thought that rap didn't have any content. All the thug drug dealers turned rappers never impressed me one bit. Rap about thug life like it was a glorified fairy tale. Shug still involved in the thug life even though he made mad cash on producing. What have they really accomplished? Not changing that's for sure.

I'm a Seattle grunge genre type. Give me that and I'm happy.

  12. Im impressed by drug dealers turned rich and famous rappers.

Behind their public image, you may be surprised by the amount of community involvement and outreach programs that many of these so-called "thug rappers" have supported.

But you wont read about it in the news because its not good for their bad boy image.

Theyre helping their own kind ivercome the adversity they worked so hard to overcome themselves.

    Not all, but some...

  13. Oh! An educated person! I love it! Not sarcasm by the way

  14. If rap has artistry as you say listen to and Eminem, Biggie, Tupac, or J Cole then come talk

  15. Also people used to criticize rock like they do rap now it's just a chain

  16. Music is only going up . You are paying attention to the music "they" want you to listen to . Who TF comes up with the top 40 list ?? Those songs aren't the top 40 in my category . They are all about money . You guys should listen to the music that isn't on the charts . The people who actually put time into their music , and not have 6 writers and 4 producers etc. if you want to hear lots of new great music feel free to follow my alt realynn and I'll put you on to whatever you want to listen to .

  17. Way to long to read so I caught the news on it. Kanye is an .... and that's that.
The Awards show where Beyonce sang everyone songs was just trash.
It's truly amazing how modest most artists are then there is the glam crowd. Desperate for constant attention or zealous enough to think everyone should agree with them. **** them goody goodies

  18. Music made by artist that are rich and/or wealthy. Especially in rap music or hip hop.

They make music about being rich. What else should I call it? And I think I said rich folks. Use the quote feature.

Especially West. His music is a rich guy talking about being rich and doing stuff only rich people can do.

    *rolling my eyes*

  19. Let's be a little bit honest though. Most of the rappers were never drug dealers or gang bangers. A quick example. Dr. Dre. He was wearing lipstick and roller skates before he joined NWA. You would be surprised at which rappers went to art schools, and groomed for entertainment.

    Remember the movie CB4?

I can't count the number of rappers who have been called out by real gangsters. They get their chains stolen. Get robbed. They run scared. Even Ice Cube got his chained snatch. Tupac! Killed because he was trying to be a thug. Gang hit. They get caught repping what they aren't and have duck and dodge the real ones.
