I agree with the lock. If this Terra person wanted to be seriously considered for the moderator position they would have asked ot to be locked as well. After seeing a support thread to try and increase a players popular vote for an attempt at increasing their chance to recieve the moderator position; well, I like them less. Additionally, if I were a dev I'd see that as a red flag for "not ready". This isn't a democracy.
Hello op, I have read your concern about this method and I am here to post today for you. I get not many people respect me as a moderator, but, not many people know what we actually do behind the lines when it's off from kaw when we discuss about the future of kingdoms at war, to better support service, to best advice and along to protect our players. Actually I am still respected cause I believe in a fair chance, I provide more warnings then silences, I am allowing more low effort threads to be displayed on forums, unless if it's like just one or two lines or one word, that would be in the low effort category to spam related material. But if the thread is trolling, spam, goes off topic, is requested to be locked, attacking another user, or just total abuse, that's when we will lock on the spot. Not many people like our decisions we made, but as a team, we feel a full convocation is needed on other moderators judgement on threads, to players names, to players gaming suggestions. This is a freedom of speech, so this thread will be allowed to stay up but if it is to attack moderators, it won't be the moderators that will be removing this, support will be and taking action. And with the eagle jokes, it is getting to beyond annoying cause TBH it's not what forums want, we have trolls, we have those that attack others, and so on so we are here to make sure threads have a chance if they fit in the right section of forums and if it's not spam. Now, I have taken the communities feedback about some threads to be given a chance, that is what I have been doing, going through threads, getting inappropriate content removed and action taken against the user, via 24 hours forum bans, the game is increasing, so for our roles are as well. BUT! If the other moderators feel that this thread is needed to be taken down, please don't attack them, email support to get their final decision about this. If you ever have a complaint it's always best to email into support with your issue, cause some people post it on forums which gets them in trouble for violating the ToU, so it is best to be smart before taking action. Again, thank you for your input and thoughts about this. Have a good New Years.
Why do you have to be the one who decides if a joke is old or not? Clearly if people are still replying it's still getting positive attention, if the joke got old for all, people would stop commenting
Haha, I've already notified the devs of this thread Chaos, hoping they'll see what their moderators are doing. I'm not mad about my thread being locked, a little agitated yes, but more so, there seems to be more and more threads being locked these days that don't need to be (for "clustering" which is a mods way of saying oh well, I didn't agree with this post so I'm silencing it for fun )
No, not really, Anarchy is though. I definitely agree with him that too many threads get locked though, so on that, I'll show support 100%
Eagle I want people to respect you, I wish they would. I also understand why they don't - but good on you for trying to improve. This isn't here to attack moderators and I know what I can do inside the ToU. I wanted you and other moderators to read it, which so far is happening. For your sake I hope the jokes end too. I'd suggest talking about this issue with other moderators as a group - it's getting serious. No where do I make remark about you or any other moderator's impact in other areas of KaW though, that would be both ignorant and likely untrue. I am simply talking about this one issue. Thanks for the decent response, unlike another counterpart here. I hope you all as a team can sort this out.
Chaos did nothing wrong. He did what he thought was right and I agree with that judgement. Don't be mad he locked your first thread ever. It had a good run, though slightly repetitive. Threads are being locked because they're bad Clustering... Do you mean cluttering? Silencing who for fun?
@ Eagle. Thanks for the insight. But again, I have to ask. Who are you, or any other mod, to decide what is deemed a low effort thread? I'm not trying to attack you, I am genuinely curious about why this has come into forums. I've been part of several forums, and not once have I ever seen threads locked for lack of effort. From my understanding, mods are here to uphold ToU. Effort is not a part of ToU. Lock for spam, bypasses or any other breaks of ToU - that is not in dispute. I just don't see why mods have felt the need to set such a precedent where one line or whatever, is just low effort. It's subjective. And IMO, shouldn't be a part of forums. Stick to locking for break of ToU. Again, just my opinion. Not attacking mods.
'This is a freedom of speech, so this thread will be allowed to stay up' - Eagle Calm down now bby, no need to have your panties in a twist, K?
Thank you, just for the players information, every single moderator that we have on our team would have different views on different situations, in some cases we wouldn't even know what to do without the other moderators thoughts on the matter. We expect not to be liked cause what they say, screw the police, we ain't here to throw people away in jail we are here to full fill the ToU accordingly, against users and attackers. Remember, every complaint, we take in as a team and review the case step by step, we get assisted if we need help via support, we always share our own opinions with each other all the time. I understand people become upset, but please follow the rules and you will be fine, targeting moderators within some threads that have appeared within the coming years, that won't be allowed, we take action to protect our follow moderators cause remember, we are normal players as well, just like you guys. Everyone is on board on what's happening, so give the team some time to come to a conclusion with all this. The activity of forums is slowly increasing again, but the best result is to keep the QUESTIONS on the question thread, we need to make sure that we have this board cleared and clean from spam material and locks. Remember, have a issue with a moderator, follow and talk to them via pm and we'll make sure we fix the situation, if you prefer to take it up with support that is your decision as well. It is stressful to be a moderator and we take our time to make sure everything is running smoothly, hell we need breaks at times ourselves so we can focus a lot more. Now, with myself, I have been keeping off from forums for a bit, due to my end of life in a major situation where it concludes a lot of stress, so my role has been cut down till I can get back on my full course once again. Take it from me, we try our hardest to make sure this game me other ATA games are great, it's not the easiest thing in the world. Now, if any other moderator is here, they'll more likely state their opinions about this. Have a great day.
If you must know, I was the person with the big idea to get the other mods to agree to lock low effort threads. The idea being that if the OP was actually serious about the topic they would come back with better detail, which would incite a better response from the community. I started this because I saw so many "low effort" threads get shut down instantly, even if the topic ot idea was a solid one. So if you want to blame the mods for shutting down low effort, blame me for being the rule maker. Back to main topic of THIS thread however... the main idea of the locked thread was to tell other people to go post #terra4mod in wc. This is easily construed as asking others to spam a chat function of Kingdoms at War, and in doing so, effectively asking others to perhaps unknowingly break the Tou in the process. The OP was lucky not to get a ban... hopefully a good warning was issued.
