I can't believe how many people are supporting a thread that would destroy the game. Moody you should encourage people to look at all angles of the pros and cons. Instead of just the pros. Edit: I see you added some cons on front page...which is only about transferring gold to alts. There are plenty more problems that have been brought up.
Reposting this quote for you killzone - this isn't a thread to develop a pro/against debate. It was to garner ideas and feelings towards such an idea being implemented. I understand you believe this to be an unfeasible idea for the future of kaw but no constructive ideas have been given. Rather than shooting down the idea as a whole, how would you prefer to have the idea changed to make it viable in your opinion?
It just doesn't make any sense. How can any constructive criticism be given after the cons have been listed? You ask me to provide constructive criticism, yet I am the only one listing reasons for both sides of support and non supporters. I'm stating that it would be nice to see if the supporters can come up with viable ideas to make these cons disappear and become pros. They must have some idea?
I keep seeing the exact same points being thrown around. Equip eb will not become completely obsolete. Just less done. People will still do them over the alternative of buying the equip. As far as promo banners & equip goes. Still falls down to the exact same point of selling anything being completely voluntary & optional. Hte will always be the most popular eb, that's a given. Since they put a fix to the multiple scroll drop issue, players will still haft to hit bone dragons just to enchant that said equipment. As for buying war equipment, who would be honestly satisfied in just having it with no levels on it? While at the sane time it would allow smaller players to war & hit bigger ebs easier. As far as lb players getting mad over promo equip being sold on the market. This strictly follows under the freedom of the seller to decide what they define as useless or unneaded equipment. Telling them they can only sale eb equipment would be completely useless. There are a few exceptions such as the Electric Storm Bow. Outside of that most of the eb equipment is not worth buying as it is not nearly as impossible to get after a few tries. People don't want equipment they can just easily get for free while earning gold instead of spending it. People want the equipment that they could not obtain whether it was because they could not afford the seals/xtals for the promo, or be it they could not be active enough because of real life getting in there way. Of course people will get mad that others can buy the promo equip, however others will try harder to get better equipment just to sale there unwanted or now obsolete equipment! Riddle me this, under what circumstance would you pay 1-10bl for the searing sickle from new growth? I know I wouldn't, simply because its not a difficult drop and new growth blood rains gives me a reason to actually do the battle. At the end of this all people should have the choice of buying or selling whatever they choose. Otherwise what would be the actual point of the black market? I have personally asked alot of people of all sizes and they mostly agree. Few say that war equipment should be mith only and I can agree to a point about that. However, it should be the players choice on what to sell. A market founded off one players idea & catering to the masses. By the players & for the players. We have a market that only sells what they believe we should buy & at the price they believe is fair.
Constructive criticism can be given towards an idea at any point in time. There's no time when you can tell someone how someone how it can be better. Just because you say it, doesn't mean it will be implemented however.
Voluntary, yes, but fair? Why haven't devs made available already? Whe did devs stop the max purchasing of mithril and letting it be dropped from system wars? BECAUSE this was already attempted and it failed. My English professor would read this and write "CLARITY" all over. You cannot make a claim without further explaining it. How would it be useless?
This isnt only a matter of what players find worth the buy. Its a matter of dev opinion. Selling equipment, maybe. Selling a reward that STOPS at a point in time from being able to receive,no. I do not understand how hard it is for you to realize the major difference between an "eb drop" and a reward unanimously given to a group of players who earned it. None of you ever goes further into this explanation. You say "what does fair have to do with the game?" But it has everything to do with the game. When do you ever see someone during promos not complain about hte dropping the most promo items? Everything is based on being fair. The only voluntary choice we have is what we choose to do with our accounts and spending real life cash.
AGAIN the only point you made through this entire post is that its Voluntary and should be players choice. If this post was constructive criticism, then after 5yrs of foruming .. I quit forums.
It's pointless to transfer gold using this process because when you sell gold bars you lose 75% profit. When you drop volley you get roughly the same amount (okay I can't remember exactly) of money percent actually transferred. What difference does it make? Eq is easy to get on small alts if there is a pvp event. No difference between that and this idea really. Support
I have a few questions. Whether it is or isn't easy to obtain, why is it that majority of players still spend hundreds of dollars to get these rewards? Batdog already answered that the price of these rewards would need to be a significant price to accumulate to the amount players spent. My constructive criticism: Banners should not be sold. This is because Banners are a symbolic reward of the events. Sooner or later we will have new banners received from a new eb series. This will make up for those who were not able to achieve a banner from a past event. Riddle me this: Why is it that players still equip Paladin armour when there is better equipment to be earned? Another question: If equipment is so easily earned, how is this a pro to the black market? Devs are doing promo after promo for the game. This means that every player consistently has chances to receive a renowned banner at some point in their KaWreer. This game was built on PvP in the beginning. This game was based off a considerate 5 hit, I don't want to say rule...well you get what I'm saying. Further and further the developers are making this game easier while uping the cash we need to spend. Now what I can see happening, such as when new players joined a few months ago and had llc, the devs should allow the transfer of low level equipment into the marketplace to encourage new players growth. All I see from the Black Market is another way to be greedy and exploit the game. As a community, kawmmunity, we should be looking at ways to grow the community and encourage new players.
I feel like you just quoted me and then ignored what I said... Lol. I said pvp equipment was easy to get. Pvp equipment only happens once every two months-ish and then is only 2 slots. Eb equipment is hard to get for smaller players though. They need to either implement this idea or add extra equipment for t1-5.
What do you mean a pro? I merely stated that it's pointless transferring money using equipment because it can already be done by volleying an dropping players. Someone earlier said that it's a bad idea because you can transfer money using it. Also... Decent Eq for ebs is hard to obtain because of the lack of good eq in lower tiers. The better eq is all from snow giant eb which takes considerable attack power to be hit or tgl bow which is basically 1/100 chance of ending earns. Newbies cannot obtain paladin armour either because they have no pots/tower/complicated war system
Also I don't get why you keep going on tangents. You didn't explain why you were telling me this game is based on pvp. You didn't explain what difference making the game easier, but increasing how much we pay means
Because I feel you underestimate the importance of sentimental value. Just because there is better equipment out there, does not mean it will immediately be placed upon the black market. Because equipment is fairly easily earned from eb for free and for the convenience of players they would have the possibility of buying from the BM. I fully concede this is a convenience market in regards to all equipment that could be sold. However, nobody who spent hundreds of dollars on an event is going to get rid of it next event over - it just won't happen
@Killzone Once again you go past everything I say and try to ignore the obvious truths is my words. If they institute this and attempt to force you to sell your equip then you have a big reason to complain. As much as I have read here, people have not only answered your questions but have also shot down your negative comments and you still choose to deny that this idea has merit to it. At the very end of the day, no one could force anyone else to sell there equipment. There will always be hoarders that choose to not let go. There are the rest of us that would gladly choose to let go for a profit. Thus making two people happy. Once again, being VOLUNTARY. You would not haft to personally sell your equipment. It would strictly be a option for the rest of us who either have & do not use or do not want but have. This is something that could bring more players to the game or could drive them away. Strictly depending on the people in question. There us absolutely nothing wrong with the theory of players selling or trading to other players. This would benefit the kawmunity. I stand by my statements and still continue to say thus far the closest you have come to discuss crediting my words is pointless slander.
No, I don't understimate sentimental value. That was my point of the question. So how would it be fair to those who appreciate sentimental value? Allowing a player to sell a banner earned by a top 5000-#1 Player? So a few people decide to sell theirs to those who buy their cash from the oracle, those that decided to hop off kaw during the promo...now 1-5000 of those players who earned it, can only prove they did so by their achievement. The point of the banner or a specific item is to show that you worked for this item. Moody, by no means am I saying your idea is ignorant. It's been thought of by many players and always shot down by the developer team. But the reason this is thought of is usually a player upset they didn't make the cut or those who really want a TGL Bow. There needs to be a deeper meaning to the Black Market. Otherwise its just a bunch of whiners wanting more gold and wanting something they can't have. Thats everywhere in the game already, those who succeed in KaW realize they need to work hard for what they make. I own an HTE clan, its east for players to gain equipment. But they drop a ton of cash and are awake hours and hours on end. Some say "oh they're still buying their reward";however, the difference is these players are still tapping away just like everyone else is. They're still actively participating to get their item. What is the point of a reward for the hard work and time you dedicated if anyone can get it? Again this is just another opinion with no backing. Also how is it easy foe new players to equop hunt when everyone is running hte, tsg, and scrag ebs. Its to get the new equip because that's all that is run. Yet all these clans who dedicate their time to running lower tier ebs have a more difficult tome completing them. Let alone they also have a more difficult time trying to find an eb running foe low tier items. Now this can go both ways as a Pro and Con. This is where my idea comes in that the developers start newcomers with low lands completed (no buildings) and the option to sell low tier equipment...such as hooves. This also is a con because this has a potential to completely halt those ebs from being run. Now I feel this is more or less a pro. Why? Because new players, not alts, do have a difficult time progressing through the game. If players decide to sell their low tier equipment,it can be randomly generated while places on a list for a new player to obtain. This would be added to the tutorial, which the players could complete a tutorial eb and get all equipment just like that. A random player would be selected from the list of their "sale" to the new player. I feel as though all players who want to buy equipment are those that should have the experience to have earned this equipment. This deters from the game in how it is meant to be played. It's not a game where everything is handed to you. PvP is already dying, what's next?
You still look past what I'm saying. I understand nobody is "forced" to sell and buy equipment. So stop bringing it up. The point is some choosing to sell equipment that is a Top 10 LB item affects all who were in the Top 10 LB. Explain to me what it means to be in the Top 10?
