Improving Early Player Progression

  1. And I'm going to repeat this to you, again. A new server has it's merits. But what is the point of opening a new server that is going to end up with the same problems as this one?

  2. They wouldn't quit.

They're addicted, it's not really a choice anymore.

    (Most of them)

  3. I meant player retention, not just downloading it and quitting. People download it, look at leaderboard, look at game age. And say nah im out.

Thats the thing about new servers, it fixes the eb and clan problem as well. Bc in a new server you have tons of active clans hitting those ebs new players need. Suddenly those old crap ebs are thriving again bc everyone's trying to grow in the new server

  4. So how long into a new server before you start getting disgruntled about what you're annoyed at now. One year? Two years? Three? Then what, just keep opening new servers?

That's not a solution. It's just a reset and eventually players will end up in the same position now.

  5. Ya it would end up getting slow eventually but all games and servers do. Nothing last forever in the gaming world. Even WoW is dying, it was the top game for like 5 years. And guess what? Its always used new servers to boost player base

  6. As there are different world chats depending on your location I would have thought that was done by having multiple servers. I don't know just guessing, adding more would only thin us out further we need to get fresh people in and make fun to stay

  7. I made this post on another thread and it's still relevant for you asking for another server:

Made from a point of view of those wanting to get LB, but you catch my drift.

  8. Yes there are different world chats. But we're all still playing on the one game/server.

  9. And id just like to reiterate my last statement. Its not so much about competing for LB spots or any of that crap in a new server that makes games succrssful. Itsthe eenvironment that new players are welcomed into in a new server that makes multi server games so successful.
New players are welcomed into a lively active world where many clans want them and are running ebs they can hit And chat is active.
Vs this game where new players are welcomed into a lonely desolate world where clans have 10 actives.

Hell go play gow, its hard to find a newb clan in a new server that isnt full. The new player experince is great in multi server games.

  10. I know you weren't speaking from an LB standpoint, but I hope the point I was trying to get across is clear anyway.

It's only a short term fix. Eventually those servers will quieten down again. There's no harm in trying to make improvements to this game to enhance player retention. We can only do so much though and make so many suggestions
Devs have to be interested it to.

I think if devs were interested in this becoming a multi server game, it'd have already happened.

  11. My only concern about the new server idea is what happens to us here wc is full of ads fighting for the active accounts here. If all the fresh blood goes elsewhere this player base would die out wouldn't?

  12. I agree here, we need more advertising & new servers that merge every so often. & i don't think clan loyalty is dead, its just alot of clans have become more business orientated especially wit the release of hte, eb's were not the first step towards hte imo, paid eb's were an afterthought i think cos let's face it are the devs really that clever to work out what they are doing a cpl yrs in advance...i think not lol

  13. The 'solution' to that I imagine is we'd eventually merge into another server.

  14. Every old player i know in other games still plays in their original server as well as new one. They dont just abandon old account. Same as having an alt really.

  15. *Brand new player observations*

All points already said are valid...

Tutorial NEEDS a remake, the community shouldn't have to babysit the new players

I think the community is doing a great job of welcoming people, I asked for help on my first day and many people followed... Special thanks to TD_Ticktock_TD

Growth certainly isn't an issue as look at me... 2.5Mil CS at the end of my first week, what the problem is new players don't have any "goals" to make them want to continue playing except growth but that's why the social aspect I have recognised is so strong in this game and I really think the devs should expand on that

although some people think farming noobs is fun and when you tell them to stop, they say stop whining and complaining. I'm not sure if BFE and BFA add onto the hit range but some people have tiny CS and massive BFE so can't really be attacked... BTW don't join WoG_Academy

I also bought the starter pack which gave me 10mil CS on each of the 4, but soon found out these event equipment are so much better for the little work you do. Equipment from EBs are useless and I think they should be buffed :)

  16. I don't think you understand servers. When it gets full up to the devs how big they want it to be, let's say its open for a month they can open a new server every month. With a constant stream of ads and new players are put into the newest server kaw would thrive. I don't see where your problems arise. Could even have server vs server wars when the servers are grown.

  17. i think u could solve early bfe gap problems between dropped builds & new players a little by giving newbies a protection period for a week or 2 first with the ability to opt out if wanting too pvp faster...i kno it might soften them up a little compared to how ppl played b4 ebs were released but then again players were not competing wit overpowered eq's for their size as much back then.

  18. Yup other games have large server vs server event wars. They are a blast and give huge payouts to winning server.

This is also how they keep old servers alive bc many want to be in old server for these wars as they are more experienced and have bigger accounts. Keep in mind the way muti server games work you can join amy server you want as a new player, even an old one.. It only restricts old accounts from joining new servers

  19. Or just cap bfe at 100% of your strength.

That wouldn't really affect bigger players at all, however it would almost completely stop these drop builds using huge bfe to their advantage

Unfortunately can't really do the same for BFA, which is where the real problem is.

  20. Prime example of a game that has been around for ages and uses servers, Clash of Tk. They now release a server every couple of months.
