IMPORTANT: No More Reset Bonuses

Discussion in 'Past Announcements' started by admin, May 31, 2012.

  1. I agree. This should have been fixed months ago.
    The devs said as much.
But the fact that it wasn't fixed then doesn't mean it shouldn't be fixed now.
I am an old school resetter who busted my hump for 2 months getting the resets back before highlands were a twinkle in anyone's eye.
    So I feel the pinch.
But I am also glad to see the end of people making light of my efforts by doing 4 resets in 4 days.

  2. Not cheapened - increased in value cause Resetting became WAY easier thane even 1 of some Epic Battles.

I hope that the LB are reworked to reflect other aspects of the game to address this. But who knows, we can only hope.

    True words lol.

  3. Err, let me get this right Wulf. You're saying that people who abuse the system are to be rewarded with nobs? Call me old-fashioned but that seems a tad wrong.

  4. 1 suggestion then just get rid of resetting all together, it was always a dumb idea anyway

  5. I spent years working on my resets and am finally had enough of this shtuff. You have lost a customer Good bye

  6. Watching people get alts 4 resets in 4 days is a slap in the face
Seeing people with 20 resets is a slap in the face
Seeing people with 80 resets is a kick in the balls.

I agree, it is ridiculous. Spend money where you will - that is your decision but if you really look at it this increases playability on the whole by leveling the playing field while at the same time fixing the biggest complaint about the Drop/Reset refund change.

so they are "FIXING IT NOW"

  7. I have two points:

First; about 4 weeks ago a clanmate made the DIFFICUT decision to reset his account. He had previously only done 2 resets and was HLBC so decided to get the last two reset items.

Yes, people can drop volley and reset within 24 hours, but others make the harder choice. Even you, Wulf, can't argue that resetting at HLBC only a small amount of time before this announcement is a major kick in the teeth.

This is just one person, what about someone who may have made that decision yesterday, or a week ago? Are you honestly saying "congratulations on completing the game" (this was the term used to encourage resets) "your reward is that you don't have to hit an eb"?

Secondly: can we have a list published of all those players who have money banked in allies which also currently have more slots than will be available?

I only ask because obviously when they get stripped they won't be able to bank their gold in allies.

I suppose they could always volley another ally to hide their gold... Oh, wait... We are trying to stop the unrealistic price hikes in allies aren't we!

  8. Yea - I didn't like that either. But devs acknowledge that work was done there and they are compensating for lost game time.

  9. This update in effect does just that.

Reset for a fresh start or to quit or as an OSW tactic - but no longer benefit in any other way.

Ally market will breath a sigh of relied too. No more "fear of resetters" range buying.

  10. You get your facts straight. I didn't say people were losing their bonuses. I said they were "eliminating bonuses for resets."

Stop trying to defend the developers Wulf.
You're not doing a very good job.

  11. How so. They keep all the bonzes and benefits they got from those resets.
Their reward is a perm item that is now much harder to get and ally slots that for now, no one has the ability to get.

No. Devs won't give out details of other people's accounts.
Banking in potions is a viable option as is the "Hide Allies" spell until you get things sorted. Good thing mithril is on sale
    ;)

  12. They aren't "taking away" from people who already reset. U keep everything

  13. I have been playing KaW for neigh on 2 years, and ever since Epic Battles came into effect KaW has gone down the drain and into a ****hole. It was much better towards the beginning of its time and now that y'all think y'all are making it "better" y'all aren't. Y'all are just making one the best games get worse and worse. It really wouldn't surprise me if one morning ALL the veterans that haven't quit, would quit right then and there.  THIS IS MESSED UP CRAP KAW!!!! 

  14. You said they are eliminating bonuses for resets when people worked hard for them.
The implication was that people's hard work would be lost.
    This is not true.

People's hard work is protected by making others work hard by preventing people who would exploit the system to get that hard earned reward easily.

I am playing devils advocate. People are only looking at the "WHAT ABOUT ME" angle and not "What is best for the overall health of the game"

What kind of playability is there against a person who can move 20trillion in less than a few hours to an account that has 1000 ally slots that they made in just a few weeks?

  15. Lol Wulf... I suppose the answer to "How so?" would be that there is always the chance that on the very first attempt at the eb's he could have got the items. Although "very" rare there is still some chance.... And he would still be hlbc.

As for your second response... You really do sum up the term "corporate".

  16. This is a crock of crap I reset 15 times do I could have a 1k ally slots. And now all of a sudden it's a freaking waste. I don't give a flying **** about the nobs I want my ally slots and don't want them taken just cause some lazy asses didn't feel like resetting isn't my issue.

  17. Chance to get all 4 "VERY RARE DROPS" on the 1st attempt all 4 times?
No - still WAY harder than resetting is (was).

  18. How many allies do you even have Rick?

  19. Sorry you feel that way.
I know 500 nobility feels like poor compensation.
Its not fair that people who worked hard and honestly must pay to fix an imbalance created by those who found an exploit.

But life isn't fair and sometimes hard decisions have to be made that some will not like in order to protect the whole.

Now you're just changing the subjects. It's not my problem you "incorrectly" interpreted my original post. But I will say this and then I'm done speaking with the likes of you. I am NOT looking at the "What about Me" angle as you so put it. I am thinking about the "WHAT ABOUT MY 300 CLAN MEMBERS - ANGLE." My post clearly is ONLY ABOUT the health of the game. However, because you likely didn't care for my tone or what my post said you picked one sentence out of the whole that could be misinterpreted and you ran with it. Typical Wulf.

Buddy, you should just stop talking now and stop redirecting what's happening. People are outraged, clans are dying, players are quitting the game and your talking about who has the most ally slots and how it's unfair to other people. I'll tell you what's unfair. Everything I said in my original post, which BTW does happen to say that "yes there likely should be an ally cap."

Thank you for your intellectual analysis. I look forwards to not reading anything else you post on this topic.
