You wouldn't like to know how my dad kills crab before we cook them :| And the lobster thing, that I personally never understood but dammit they are delicious (/.-) so how long does it take for them to die being boiled alive?
I signed the petiton... There's absolutely no reason to try and make an argument over this because it is simply and clearly wrong how this festival is handled. Yes, I respect other cultures, but some of you sound like idiots when you try to support this festival or just find a reason to turn your back to it.
Really? That doesn't seem too bad, I can't imagine it's the same for larger animals though. Now I typically would sign something like this as I'm a dog lover and don't care to see them being treated cruely, but then I remember how butting into another countries' practices can create a larger problem. I prefer to deal with problems like this in my city/state/country.
People have pigs as pets, we eat pig. People have chickens as pets, we eat chicken. The list goes on. What really should be changed is the inhumane way of killing animals... Such as being burned and boiled alive. I personally would probably not eat dog, but I'm not going to take that right away from someone else either.
Animals get slaughtered everywhere like this. You think people put chickens to sleep with lethal doses or something? No, they chop the heads off. Live with it
Is a part of Chinese folklore .. They like to eat dog meat as we like to eat cow, chicken, etc... Anyway, there's an excess of violence and someone needs to make something about it
I agree with this. The inhumane killing is the problem. People don't have a problem eating pigs or cows or birds so they should have a right to eat the animals they choose.
I'll sign the petition...! If animals agree back to no brutally slaughter me. They'll need to sign a 500 page contract in order to satisfy me, and if one of them breaks it and inhumanely kills me, I'm out.
Chickens and other livestock aren't brutally tortured in the most grotesque way possible. So, sorry dude. Not comparable at all.
