Joe java, us it anything like the book, if not then its fine. The title isn't copyrighted, the rest of it is. That's why multiple books have the same title
It's good, the flashback was interesting and doesn't reveal it all. That makes room for many thing later on that are small(ish) but would greatly increase the quality of the story
Holo and Joe-Java: Yes, I know that this is a real book, I've read it myself, but: a.) The title of that book is 'I'd Tell You I Love You then I'd have to Kill You.' see? Not the same title. b.) The story isn't the same. c.) The story isn't the same. Thanks for your concern though.
DAAAANG. I got a typo again! The other story is "I'd Tell You I Love You but Then I'd Have to Kill You." I made my title different.
Joey: Yeah, true that. Thanks for defending me. Assaisim: le derpina, I'm a writer too. Unprofessional but still.
"Hello? Earth to Lia?" Andrew asked, snapping his fingers in my face. I blinked, "U-Uh. Sorry. Zoned out for a sec." I turned red. That wasn't very, erm, professional of me. He nodded, "Well, The Chief says that you're my 'partner' in this whole thing." "Mission: Poker? Oh yeah, you got the file right-ow!" Andrew had kicked me, and let me tell you, The Institute trains you to kick really really hard. "Hi Zands." Andrew said, giving me a meaningful glance. I looked up and saw a blond, about my height, with a button nose and blue eyes, with a scowl on her face. "Don't "Hey Zands" me." she snapped at Andrew, and he shut his mouth. She turned to me, "Hi, newbie. Do you wanna eat with me for lunch rather than," she wrinkled her nose, " him? " What?! I turned to face Andrew, who was already watching me. I caught his eye and a secret message traveled pass us. He tapped his finger on my hand in Morse Code. T-A-N-N-E-R. And that was that. "Sure." I smiled at "Zands" and stood up. "Coolio." she smirked and walked away, expecting me to follow. I trailed after her, sending a look to Andrew, who gave me a thumbs up in support. Support, considering I was about to have lunch with the son of an evil mastermind.
"You must be Lia." a smooth voice said, and a hand was thrusted to me. I looked up from my food, "Yes. And you are?" I ignored his hand, and he dropped it awkwardly. "Tanner. Tanner Steven." he smiled, as if his name was holy or something. "Ah." I said, and turned away, searching the crowd for Andrew's head. A body blocked my view. It was Tanner. "So," he sat down beside me, "Wanna catch a movie sometime?" Um, gag? "Depends" I narrowed my eyes, "Do you wanna keep that hand?" I stood up frustrated. I carried my tray over to the garbage bins where, surprisingly (not really), Andrew wad there. "How'd it go?" he pondered. "Well, he asked me out, and I threatened to severe his hand." I recited matter-of-factly. "You're going to have to say yes." Andrew said. "What?!" I exclaimed. "It's the only way to get close to his father. Is to get close to him." he pleaded. I grumbled, "Fine." this was for my parents. For all their sacrifices. This was for them. I stormed back to the table, and forced a smile unto my lips. Tanner looked at me, smirking. I took a deep breath, "How's that movie sound?"
