Deserves a sticky. We've got an OSF thread and one for everything else but not an OAF one. Great Job!
I dont think that many osfs will continue to open for wc if pwars are removed. Where would they get their money then? They cant be super effective at missions cuz they have no troops.
There's some BB coding in there, not very visible though. I wasn't really sure what would need it, but feel free to suggest where it could be added and I'll see about editing it in. And cbear you're quite right, there aren't even that many OSFs who open for wc these days, it was just a random thought. Opening for steals is remarkably easier than opening for attack though. On this account, when I still did wc opens, I could go for a few hours (dropping pots) for attacks, but for steals I'm able to stay open for days without closing, simply by attacking as hansel to replenish gold.
Even if the forfeit button were to be removed, people would probably still find ways around it. For example, OSFs could swap clans, do their steals, and then kick everyone else so they received all tax.
true, so they would have alot to change,,to get rid of pw's,,the update would have to pay at lest 2x as much a plunder war, which in turn would see the larger players getting to big again, which in turn would pressure the makers to do T5 buildings,,hey who knows
It will also need to make things proportional, so that pure spy builds can make more. Currently war tax is the only way for them to make real profit, steals just isn't enough. But yeah, that's not what this thread's about so oh well.
A good guide, well written and easy to understand. The only thing you might want to add is how much an OAF will lose per hit as I believe this will be significantly higher than a spy build OAF at zero troops without offering much more return.
Macabre it's not really possible to say how much will be lost per steal, as it's affected by so much. Your stats, the stats of the player stealing from you, your troop levels, how much gold you have out - all these affect how much is lost.
I get that Toby, but my point is there are examples that can be used. A 7m combined OAF with 100m out being stolen by a bc thief will cost around 4m to the OAF. A spy build OAF with zero troops being stolen by the same person will only lose around 200k. This is why so many clans use spy builds for it during pw. Although you need the constant "maintenance" on the spies to ensure success the cost for the OAF is significantly reduced.
You can also pose as a OAF If your a hansel build (Only one attack build) your clans OSF can pin you if they are dropping large pots, That way you and your Clans OSF can rotate between being open for attacks and steals.
