Not really, prior to the events that brought about passover, there were numerous holidays and festivals in Egypt itself. Most likely, the first annual holidays were formed around natural repeating events such as the new moon, and the later (when mankind learned agriculture), harvest time. These ancient holidays would predate even Ur and Mesopotamia. Even a "day of the dead" would require an independent manner of keeping dates, something that necessarily came later than a recognition of the repeating nature of the lunar cycle.
