That is great. High-five. But you also made claim that being able to catch up to someone like Chongo with a loophole is a good thing. That is ridiculous to me. I don't spend much real money on this game, because I don't have a lot of it. But, if I was a millionaire, I probably would be on the the LB and spending max daily nob limits to build. And if some player found an exploit and got himself to the LB that way, I would hope this would happen. ATA got this right.
correct. This isn't cheating. Botting is cheating. War we have here is an "exploit". Kingdoms at war had an aspect of it that was "broken" and a few clever players found the break and ran with it. I can't blame them, really. Who wouldn't? Its an "exploit" however, because the game was never intended to be played that way, and those who were taking advantage knew this. correct again. And the devs are keeping things in check by removing the gold from the 155 accounts that ran with this exploit. This is not only fair, but its required. Bravo to the devs for making this right. Taking back the money that was gotten through a glitch is not a punishment. me too! And if a cop saw me, and the bills were marked, and I got caught, im sure I'd have to return the cash. I may even get jail time for taking something that wasn't mine (hence the bans) same concept. Just virtual cops ok. Sorry, but that point is stupid. The devs are constantly reviewing their codes and making sire their game is solid, but sometimes accidents/mistakes happen. Making errors is part of the human experience. i would loath the devs if they took no corrective action. I would consider them to be lazy and out of touch. As it stands, the devs are great. They have to comb through 155 accounts, figure out how much cash was gotten through the exploit, and they need to manually adjust things. This is labor intensive and time consuming. Ignoring it and saying "Mia culpa" would be the height if apathy. Bravo to the devs for taking care of this and keeping things in the community fair
OK GUYS. You really dont need to hate. You can say you disagree once please but there is no point in dragging it on.
Woah. My man, debate is not hate. When you make a point, and that point is debated, it can drag. But I see no hate. I enjoy arguing. Especially when you make points that I clearly don't agree with. Don't make statements in KAW forums if you don't want to rumble. Because thats what open talk is for. There you go.
I agree with moose 100% the devs do a great job keeping this app stable and balanced, if you got the gold from an exploit it deserves to be stripped away, and if you made alts to make even more you deserve to lose those accounts. But that's not to say if I saw an ATM spitting out butt loads of cash I would defiantly help myself to some
It just goes back to money for the Devs. If you got a billionaire in your casino and he's lost a million dollars in your casino in one night, are you gonna kick him out for smacking a waitresses ass? Probably not, you're going to do everything and anything to avoid those unruly situations to keep his money. To not destroy their profits, they banned the Alts of these players, not their mains. Although idk if the CHEATERS were whales, I can only post my theory of why mains were not banned and Alts were.
Banning 155 players would be pretty extreme, so of course they don't want to lose profit from 155 players. But in this case, they didn't ban because it was an exploit and not a cheat.
It is cheating, once those players received massive amounts of gold through an unfit means, any strip done on another player, was breaking the ToU, twice, same rule. All 155 players should be banned. They got trillions, you hurt my gameplay, you hurt others gameplay, as Willy said. Then any strip done with that gold, or any gold you had, allowed you to strip unfairly because of cheated gold. They need to be banned.
Excellent post moose. On a side note, I'm hearing rumours that the Devs have taken back far more in gold/allies from some players than they gained through this exploit. Any statless alts want to comment on that? For once in my KaW life I actually want to here what the statless alts have to say on this one.
i agree with you, and are totally taking responsibility. they are making things right by removing the gold that was obtained by players who were abusing an exploit that existed because of a bad line of code true. But the fact that they knew this was an exploit, and they knew that KaW was never meant to be played that way, yet they chose to run with this IS THEIR FAULT. as exploits utterly destroy a game, this is required. this is where we part ways. Seems lazy to me. If someone used a game glitch to get trillions, then stripped me, your answer is "screw you. I'm to busy making new "improvements" to my game. I have no time to clean up my prior messes. Bottom line..... If you care about your community, you make things right. actually, I would be greatly annoyed if I was trying to climb the LB, and suddenly I was set back 155 spaces. I promise you, no ones reaction in the community would be "OH JOY! A new challenge!" If you think that's how people's mind set operates, you're not in touch with the player base. The devs are now working long hours to clean up a mess that happened from a bad piece of code. They are taking the time to clean up a mess that happened on their end. I know it sucks for the 155 players that ran with this, but really, what ATA is doing benifits the community as a whole, and its the right thing to do.
How long was this going on? I changed my build severely yesterday as its the end of the season and i converted some towers to make more off of ebs. Now the buildings I put up were guilds, but I'm pretty sure that the towers i sold that I spent about 10 bil on were not paying me 20 bil or something ridiculous. At least I think... Hopefully I did nothing wrong. Although that would be nice... Buy some volaries, upgrade, sell, buy, upgrade, sell, repeat... And BAM! 10 TRIL! Lol I wish! It would be a nice way to grow without constantly being stunted by estoc wars. I think I spend more on pots than buildings! (Thinks to self ***No wonder Im so short for my age!***)
I can't understand that these ammounts are earned by guilds and forges. You can get bigger by building and upgrading more expensive buildings
