Gold Creation Exploit - An Update

  1. I am far from interested in gaining sympathy or shedding tears, what you as a fellow player state in relation to my motivations really doesn't matter. Getting yourself all riled up over a tap tap game is silly.

The facts are this aspect of the mechanics was published in forums 2 weeks before I started using it. That's 2 weeks of it being in the public domain and at least 3 months since I first became aware of it's existence. It's not cheating to use a feature of the game that the devs have built. There are many features of this game that are unintended consequences. Go ask someone who recently benefited from the land trick, tower build or guild hansel if they cheated. These features of the game were just as unintended as the feature we are discussing. Whilst this feature was unintended I did not cheat you or anyone else out of anything. You had the same access to it that I did. You had the same access to the thread detailing it that I did, the same way I found out about the benefits of the land trick, guild hansel and tower build.

I used it 5 days ago I built my final land, upgraded a couple of buildings and banked a bit in bars. That's it simple really. I have no interest in owning crap loads of allies on my main, those of you who I have had the pleasure of warring know I like my sleep too much to have allies.

  2. Yep. That point has been made and refuted several times on this thread.

    Got anything new, you cheater?

  3. Trolls are always amusing, I see no reasonable argument refuting my points DTM. Perhaps you should go ask an adult to explain my points to you so they are easier to understand. Would it would help if I drew you pictures? You do seem to have trouble understanding the written word.

Not feeding any other trolls. Sorry. just a one time deal!!

  4. I'd keep debating with you Medic, but everything has been said, every view point has been looked at. It's becoming a spinning wheels thing at this point. Anything said on either side is refuted by the same points. Nothing new has been said within these new 30 pages.

  5. Calling me a child who lacks understanding of written word when you interpret argumentation with "trolling?"

Do you even know the difference?

  6. The devs dint intend for it to happen, a fault in their coding.

    In simple terms an exploit.

Hey my manager just left his cupboard open! I can steal stuff right? Considering the company built the feature?

Funny seeing you of all people trying to justify cheating.

  7. This has been a super interesting thread. From what I can see, there are a few possibilities with regard to this 'glitch'.

It was a random bug, recently introduced.

It was a bug, introduced when the devs were tinkering with the tower build exploit.

It was a 'feature' designed to be leveraged by a privileged few.

For mine, option one seems unlikely from a code perspective.

Two or three seem more plausible. Devs have rarely been transparent in these cases, so it's unlikely that we'll find out whether this was an accident or a feature.

I didn't see the original forum post, but it might be interesting to hear how the op 'discovered' this. Finding the original source may shed some light on the likelihood of the above options. But I imagine those skeleton will remain firmly locked away in the closet.

One thing is certain. When this became mainstream, the lack of a quick response damaged KaW. Couple that with rampant botting, tower exploit EE debacle, GH idiocy and its starting hurt the bottom line.

KaW in my region has dropped out of the top 100 top grossing apps. Lets hope it doesn't sink further. That will be bad for everyone.

  8. @IGCB I shall use one more point. To be honest I have not read all 30 pages so I don't know if it's been brought up.

Plunder wars. Do you recall when the System war mechanics were discovered? It was a big secret, and on the same scale as this. Players were earning 100's of billions in hours. What did the devs do? They watched it for months allowing to go from a little known secret feature to a very widely known aspect of the game that was used by most who now use the word cheater. By that standard those same people who built massive kingdoms using an unintended and similarly complicated feature of the game are cheaters as well if you want to use that argument.

We watched and waited for this to become widely known before using it. We saw it posted in forums and the devs did not change the mechanics. That alone gives it credence and ipso-facto acceptance by the devs as the mechanics of the game. But perhaps most importantly how is it any different to the plunder war scenario ?

  9. Did you have to wait for your troops to regen in plunder wars?

    Yes.

Did you have to wait for your troops to regen to destroy and raze buildings?

    No.

    Next argument, please.

  10. Build and raze*

  11. Actually DTM that's incorrect

As an OSF or an OAF you didn't need to have any regen time, you were always open to either attack or spy despite that was the point of those builds.

So as you so eloquently say
    Next argument please.

  12. The attacker, not the attackee.

I'm trying to give you more credit here, but you're making me question your common sense.

  13. DTM the attackee was the person who benefited most from the plunder wars. I'm guessing you weren't around for them. Happy to explain the whole process if you like. Pictures? Or have you got an adult handy?

  14. Medic medic medic

  15. I wasn't around for Pwars, but the mechanics are simple enough to understand. And I've read enough about them to know how they worked.

However, that still doesn't change the fact that you're making an unfair comparison.

In Pwars, OSFs were still managing plunder-producing actions, which resulted in their payout.

The razing exploit does not remotely involve any form of war or coordinated effort.

    You're comparing apples with oranges.

  16. Hahahahahaha medic got stripped

  17. DTM
The osf/oaf only needed a single action. They let others hit them and then the opposing side would ff before time ran out. The osf/oaf would get the war tax from the war. A good pw would allow someone to earn several hundred billion in a couple days

  18. So the OSF didn't need to continually drop pots to keep themselves open?

  19. DTM you're making a fool of yourself here and obviously don't understand PW mechanics, so best you don't try to work out if it's an apple or an orange.

Run off and go play with honeybadger/Silence. Leave the adults to do the talking please.

    Petulant children these days

  20. Yeah DTM ur making a fool of your self . Leave the forums for people like medic who need to complain about getting caught cheating
