Nobody- we can agree to disagree on this point but it is my belief that IF ATA gave an unfair advantage to one group over the rest in a pay for play game...it could absolutely be considered illegal
Once you pay there are different rules. There's a reason they aren't resetting inactive accounts with pro packs
chopper did devs take away your gold/allies/buildings for cheating?? well, GOOD FOR THEM!! maybe next time some bh will think before cheating. devs made an example. a good one too. show cheaters arent tolerated. nice job devs
@Chopper Having different opinions doesn't mean you are some how better. My point still stands, the fact that you needed all these steps to execute the "exploit" means they knew what they did was wrong. At no point in any NORMAL MECHANICS of this game should a sold building produce a profit, that would be the complete opposite of what ATA wants. Whether they placed it in for a certain group, I don't know. That's out of my realm of speculation. In no way will your words change my view. So many people say "Integrity doesn't matter, morals don't matter, it's just a video game!". Well, my retort to that is, it should mean anymore, if you have none of those characteristics on a tap tap game, then you probably show less in real life.
I just cant wait til some lawyer gets screwed over the game, and decided to sue ATA. They've had it coming to them for a while.
Sure it was abnormal mechanics. But it was the games mechanics and had been so since February, that's when I first heard about it. It stopped being an exploit when it was put on forums and ATA chose to do nothing about it. It became mechanics at that point. Both sides can argue till they are blue in the face, it matters not. The issue is the destruction of builds beyond the net gold generated by those mechanics. What matters is that people have paid for a service, that service being nobs, xstals or whatever was purchased, and the benefit created by the service has been removed by the company that sold the service as a punitive action. The only way to recreate that benefit is to buy more of the service. That is unconscionable conduct. For those of you with an understanding of consumer law that is an actionable breach. You cannot despite any TOU condition remove a service that a customer has paid for without agreement or compensation. I used the mechanics when it was in common use. And my build was destroyed completely far in excess of the gold my account had generated. I did not volley, transfer or do anything with the gold outside of my account. So the gold did not disappear. What did disappear was 2 years of work and many thousands of my own real dollars.
@IGCB I did not use any exploit, I used game mechanics as published on forums 2 weeks ago. It was freely available for all to see.
Or that it was something out of the norm? I mean, for someone who has played 3 or 4 years would surely realize, those aren't normal game mechanics. Also, the thread I assume wasn't made by a Dev...
Medic - you're full of crap. I see the most recent achievement you gained as being the unlocking of all 25 highlands. Those last lands, all being very expensive, were no doubt achieved with the gold you obtained by cheating. Yet, here you sit with an account that likely still has all those lands. Now you're going to complain that the gold is invested in the lands so when the devs took the money back it got it by eliminating your buildings? The devs said they were taking the gold back and you're trying to gain sympathy by telling part of the story. You'll get none from players that understand cheating and didn't participate because that's what it was all along. And destroying a building that should have generated 130 million but gave you 15 billion can be considered nothing but a game cheat that you knew, or should have known, was not extended to exist in the game. The devs should have banned you from continuing with this game. Others have been banned for cheating, but ATA seems to have a soft place in their hearts for players engaging in mischief. Having not been banned, you should have taken your punishment, been thankful that the game devs didn't swing the ban hammer, and went about your way.
