Agreed devs by no means need to give us the exact equation for win loss. But if changes are made that diminish items and allies, basically making pro packs and allies less effective, it would be good courtesy to explain. If not it seems the only purpose is to scam players out of money for bogus pro packs. A random factor built in for 1-2% loss is great but any other equation to give an advantage to players without pro packs or who are weaker is basically ripping off those who have invested the time and money to grow. If trying to prevent the "picking on smaller kingdoms" is the motive behind these changes then why not just change the levels where you get a " defender too weak" message.
It seems to me that it requires something OVER three times an opponents strength to achieve a 99%chance of victory. And even with superior strength, there is always that 1%chance of defeat. Also in play is the HUGE amount that pots influence stats (1.5mil for def). this can mean that someone who has 1.5mil atk going against an osf with full pots would only have a 50% chance of winning without using atk pots. AND would need to use the new drop pots to be able to hit with a 99% chance of winning. Mostly it seems to me that the issue here is nothing but luck. maybe they should narrow the odds a bit.
unfortunately the devs probably could care less about our concerns. they are to busy buying new cars and developing other games. while leaving kaw in the trunk
Okay--- here is a small issue with merging posts--- the oldest posts show up first, making resilent reborn the new OP of this thread. So, I'm sorry stick.... I'm going to merge your post into his post and ask him to stick your explanation at the top.... the links and stuff are all gone now that both of the threads are merged together.... please fix the OP of this thread so it makes sense... I'll message reborn right now and let him know. I have some eb testing to do today, and I am a bit under the weather. But, I promise I will get around to answering these concerns and hopefully set up some testing. I find this topic extremely interesting. But--- we have to have hard data in order to actually prove any discrepancies. Right now, this is just speculation. I'll be posting more in the future
I'm going to try and do some more controlled tests with other peoples accounts later. But even when we can't account for certain, the mechanics still seem off based on the facts we do know
I agree with this I seem to lose against people with no pots no allies and smaller def more times than for it to be just random. Even when I use full pots. oh and I am at full troops. It seems bfa and pro packs count a lot less that what they used to. To make matters worse a build with 1.3 mil less attack than my def and 10 mill less bfa than my def bfa got through when I was full makes no sense
Also if anyone has a link to something that gives the stats from each building it would really help in figuring this out. And I'm referring to raw stats, not bonus to ally stats.
Those of us that have been playing this game for awhile, especially those in war clans don't need a test to confirm that the game mechanics have significantly changed and bfa along with permanent stat bonus means a lot less than it use to. If the changed in mechanics was done in error the developers should examine and fix the problem. If the changed was done purposely then they should explain the reason for the change and maybe explain what is the benefit of hiring allies if allies are somewhat insignificant now. Also, why promise a stat boost with pro packs, and perm items if it is false?
This has been an irritation for a while now. If you add propacks, new items, clan bonus and resets, I have 48% bonus in some areas and I honestly don't think it makes a lick of difference. And when you hit a potless stripped target at full, with all pots and bounce off, it's absurd. Devs are taking the piss. They're just pulling random numbers out of a pickle barrel to decide the outcome. If that's what they want to do, fine I guess, but don't sell propacks and incentivize resets, if you plan to ignore them, or worse still, have them count against you.
@giskard....you are spot on. Seems like the devs have taken away the incentive of building BFA or buying pro packs. Furthermore, the devs apparently misled us in telling us that clan bonus, perm stat increase from new EB's and reset bonus makes a difference.
One thing I've noticed is that spy stats seem to be less screwed up. There's still the obvious chance element, but largely, if you have better stats, chances are your spies will do what the need to do. Anyone else observed this?
I can verify that spy win:loss ratio is the same as it ever has been. I have noticed no change what so ever in how spy wins and losses are calculated. However, this is only an observation and not based on actual statistics.
On the subject of BFA's, its hard to understand just how disproportionate the cost/benefit ratio is until you look at it in numbers. The sum of your allies stats is added to your raw stats, not your own bonus to ally stats as its displayed on iPhone (check how BFA is added on PC of you're not sure what I'm talking about). Compared to items it's pathetic. Heres an example: At roughly 3.2m attack (Bonus to Ally), my raw attack stat is 162,132,400. When using all attack pots, I receive a bonus of 145,000,000 at a cost of about $23.9m. On average, to build a BFA of 10,000,000, it costs about $800m-$1t in allies. So I'm basically getting 1/14th the bonus of using full pots for around 40x the cost. This also shows that, when using all attack pots, very few variables should ever trump their power if the defender has no defense pots. Even for someone HLBC with every perm item available, you still won't match 145m in raw stat bonus. You'd need def stat of over 300,000,000 which isn't possible with the buildings available.
Correction to that last paragraph. 1 trillion in allies nets you about 1/14th the bonus for around 14,000x* the cost. @homedawg, theres a limit to bonus from resets (8%) and having every ally slot filled with HLBC players would give a ridiculous ally bonus (I've seen these), but it doesn't change the extremely poor cost/benefit ratio.
@SirIsaacLime Maybe you could answer a question I have, yesterday I was messing around Stealing from my alt, then later I attacked this account, now when I hit this account my other one got 25mil but this account lost over 110mil. I know in a swar there is tax but where did this 85mil go? Maybe a stupid question but I'm just curious :?
How much you lose when attacked has to do with the amount of money you have out at the time. The rest just goes away. Even during a system war tax doesn't account for the entire difference.
I notice same thing I feel like my (reset bonuses don't help out anymore) did the Devs change it? That's a good question wish we could figure out why are bonuses not actually helping.
