  7. I woke up to a whispering sound. I looked around. Most of the girls were still here. Who could it-

"Pssssst! Izzy!" I definitely heard it this time. I got up and put on my panda slippers. They matched my white t-shirt with black and white striped capris combo. I walked carefully through the cabin, trying not to step on creaky boards. I opened the door to see Byron, standing there in his red boxers and a green t-shirt. I stifled a laugh. It look like Christmas threw up on him.

"I need your help." He said.

"Fashion isn't really my thing... Go talk to Eva."

    "Funny. But I'm serious."

    "So am I."

"Of course you are. But, anyways, you're good at convincing people, right?" He didn't wait for an answer. "Morton is sitting on a bench outside of the cabin, playing his iPod."

"Why is this my problem?" I thought for a moment. "And why doesn't he just stay in your cabin?"

"'Cuz us guys said if he was gonna play his iPod, he's gotta be out of the cabin." He shrugged it off like it was nothing.

"Fine." I said. "Take me to your cabin. But when we're there, put on some pants." He laughed and led me to his cabin.
    _____________

We got there and outside sat Morton, playing his iPod. "Well, my work is done." Said Griffin. "Now I gotta go put on some pants..." He ran into his cabin and left me with Morton.

I walked up to him. "What are you playing?" I asked. Coming from the iPod was oddly calming medieval music.

    "KaW." He said.

"KaW?" I asked. "Isn't that, like, birdspeak?"

He sighed and shook his head. "It stands for 'Kingdoms at War'."

I sighed. "Well you have to enjoy the real world too." I thought for a moment. "I know! Go put your bathing suit on!" He asked why. "Just do it." I ran off to my cabin and searched my bag for my favorite one piece. I think my sister switched it because I found a turquoise bikini in it's place.

I met Morton at his cabin and he was wearing swimming trunks and a t-shirt.

I grabbed his arm. "Let's go to the lake."

"Wait!" He yelled as I yanked his arm.

    "What?" I yelled back.

"Don't I need pectorals and abdominals to swim?"

    "What?"

    "Pecs and abs?"

I stared at him, trying to figure out if he was serious or not. "You need to enter reality." I said and shook my head. I grabbed his arm and pulled him to the lake.

  13. I got down to the lake in no time, flat. But Morton, oh Morton, took five minutes just to get down the hill. Then another five minutes to get across the field. I sighed. I felt like getting him here was useless, but what else could I do?

He finally got to the dock and stood next to me. I began to untie the canoe from the dock but he stopped me. "What are you doing?!" he said, frightened.

"We," I said. "Are going on a canoe ride." I climbed down into the canoe and gestured for him to join me. Reluctantly, he did.

I finished untying the boat and pushed off the dock. Morton was tense. "See?" I said to him. "Calming, right?"

He shrugged. "I'm not that good of a swimmer, so..."

I put my hands up and shook my head. "Don't worry. We'll be in the canoe the whole time."

We stayed there silently for a minute or two. Finally, Morton smiled at me. "Thanks, Izzy," he said. "This is very... soothing, I guess."

I laughed. "It's the outdoors. It can calm almost anyone!" We began to talk about random stuff after that. School, video games, sports (it may seem unlikely, but he is a racquetball player), anything really. Finally I noticed how late it's gotten.

"The suns higher than when we started. Seems like we've been out here for an hour and a half." I looked to the shore and saw Eva, Joe, Byron, Corissa and Griffin all waving their arms and yelling. "Hey, look!" I pointed to them and waved. So did Morton.

Finally they stopped and Byron started yelling something. I heard the first part, that it was almost time for breakfast. But the second part was harder. Bear tar poor cores? There war more chores? Where are your oars? Swear far door- Wait a minute. I looked around and gasped.

    "What's wrong?" Said Morton nervously.

I looked at him, mired scared than before. "We left our paddles on shore!"
