Foxes vs. Regulators War

  1. Foxes vs Regulators

Fun war, though for some reason, I did get much love from foxes or their alliances. Hope Joe will make up for it the next war if there is one.

I also have immense respect for guys like Nathan who lost more than 1T but displayed a sportive attitude. After all this is a game.

Good job everyone and Kaw was at its best the last few weeks.

  2. Good war, though in your next war you may want to return some hits, just a pointer.

  3. As who was it, Dom I think? put it, you weren't high priority enough:p

    I wasn't terribly high up there either:/

  4. 1000 steals clears ~50% of gold out
2000 steals clears ~75% of gold out

In a large scale war 2000 steals in 1 hour is pretty easy (pots or not) if the strip is well planned.
Pots may slow down the strip a little but in this age of mithril, equipment, and enchantments it does not slow things that much. Full mith and full SA pots my 1 SOS/48 Troop build is able to run 1/2 bars through 11 SD. Not to mention the 11 SDP pots increase the income during the strip so the aggressor makes much better profit.
The costs are just so terrible:
    2000 steals x 24m per 11 pots burned = an additional 48b gone.
(Crazy thing is how often someone is stripped of their under 100b and are open for several hours with 11 pots never dropping. WTF?)

As to "strip prep" - anyone who understands how "Attacking" factors into strips and how it relates to spy levels knows better than to "Spy Prep" a target for a strip. Pot-burning on its own is, however, a useful tool in any war campaign and responsible for a large % of the enemy losses.

A few pots here or there to catch incomings I guess is reasonable.
Anyway - like I said - this is a much debated argument.
I guess it all depends on the amount of gold you are protecting, you presence (or lack of) towers, and the size of your opposition.

  5. Lol I would never leave any gold out other than allies if I was going to war

  6. Much respect to wulf and regulators. It was extremely fun and made me a lot more active in kaw. Before I would just hop on real quick clear my troops and spies on a lame eb and hop off the game. I definitely made a lot more at this osw than I would have doing ebs. But then again I did not have near as much to lose as some of the other foxes. I came out way ahead even losing 30 bill. With the gold I put into bars and attack pots. Maybe this will open all of our eyes as to what this game is really about hopefully it has awaken everyone involved especially us foxes that osws are a lot funnier then ebs and u make a lot more gold at the same time. It brings alliances together even closer. Thanks for the war it was a blast

  7. I think a lot of people don't realize how much you can make during a war plus it's way more fun because you might get hit back (as opposed to EB).

I feel kinda lost now 

  8. Thank you Regulators, Last Rights, Alpha, 7DS, DoA, and Divine Regiment for the war. It was great fun and a nice change from eb.

To Foxes, Armageddon, VooDoo, German Foxes and OutlawZ. Well fought, and thank you for the opportunity to fight alongside you.

    You have my respect. =)

  9. @ wulf: shhhhh!

  10. Lmao Sugar. The "feeling lost" or "don't know what to do with all this free time" is the comment I've seen most of late. It's such a weird feeling...

  11. Much respect to my enemies in this war who I can now consider my friends.
I have met and talked to alot of people this war who I have become very fond of as well as liked and gained respect for.
I have to admire the fact I was stripped because in all honesty it was a job very well pulled off so the strategy of you guys really does work.

Mostly I have to say a big thankyou to my brothers and sisters in foxes as well as our Allied clans. We showed that we will NOT back down to any fight and I truly think we held our own.

Would love to visit some clans in the future to visit and say hi as well a spanking some EB's.

    Until the next time.....

  12. I'll throw out my better written congratulations later when I have more time.

For now on the sdp note, as soon as I was first stripped (first 10 minutes of the war) 90 billion strip and I was able to bank/upgrade about 85 billion if I remember correctly, I sold off all my sdp. And a good thing. Like Wulf said, with mith and equipment, those pots meant nothing for stopping anything. And it was just gold disappearing if I kept them to be burned. And since I wasn't able to always keep my troops pinned as a hansel, the same goes for adp.

  13. And on a side note, when you find a pure spy with a lot of gold out and no sdp, be careful. As soon as a ran a couple bars, I was a target for a few days.

  14. Good war to both sides  Peace.

  15. Sssshhhhh wulf. Stop giving people crazy ideas.

Everyone! Ignore wulf! Buy SDP!!! Lots of them. And when you run out? Buy more!

You taste like a fine rack of lamb with your fancy pots. I feel like you are taking me to a fancy dinner every time I hit your ass. 

And yes. I've been craving lamb lately.

  16. Yanno, I think the thing that has pissed me off the most this war is how people always talk about food when I'm really, really hungry. Jerks -_-.

  17. @slayer- honestly, with your size, I don't see how you could possibly have come out that great. First- didnt you bank all of your gold in pots (as you stated)? Okay. Soooo. You had no allies as an attack build. Which means you pulled in practically nothing per hit. Like- if you managed to fully unload on a fully potted larger build, and win every single hit, you would brought in like 260 mil max. I'm being gracious here. Of that 10 mil per hit, you would have had to use between 24 mil and 70 mil (good lordi hope I added that wrong) in attack pots.

Now even if you managed to find a humongous hansel that was always open, attack builds can't fully unload on them anyway, and once you get low troops, you need attack pots- especially with zero bfa AND you'll need pots regardless if they are holding defense pots.
So. Lets say: you lost 30bil of 70bil (and decided it would be wiser to lose another 10 bil in banking than to unbank ten bil and upgrad- or GOD FORBID- fund a counter strip (side note: thank you all so frigging much for upgrading selfishly and banking instead of counter stripping. That was immensely kind )

Okay. So now you have lost 40 bil and spend each hour making between 260 mil and (negative) - 1.56 bil (due to full attack pot use). I could average that out. But I'll be generous and say you managed 100 mil an hour at 12 hr activity a day. You just made 1.2 bil per day. This war lasted 3 weeks. So 1.2 x 21 days = 25.2 bil. Now take 25% of that off for your banking in pots and you managed to make 18.9 bil in 3 weeks.

You lost 40 bil (including the 25% pot loss). You made 20 bil. So in 3 weeks of OSW, you are actually DOWN 20 bil.

So please. Stop throwing up nonsense like that. . It insults me. I was an attack build in heavy OSW for far too long to actually consider anything you just said as more than hogwash. Because I've done the math. Trust me. Trying to find a way to make money in war as an allyless attack build. YOU DON'T

  18. Why is it that whenever you say youre hungry I start getting hungry. :geek:

  19. No insults for me Belle? 

  20. Lol shol. I have always respected you as a player and forumer. So no. No insults. You are a good guy and deserve props for your warring skills. You didn't sleep at all 
