Re: Estoc Trials - War #9 - General Updates Having been in a few match-ups where we fought 3-4 players down, which is winnable but not easy, it might be time to shrink the size range. It really is no fun seeing you are warring 27 v 31 or 29v33. It appears from the graphs KaW Admin have been posting that most teams fight between 29-31 members. It might be worth trying for week 3 to restrict all match ups to 29-31 members. I personally feel that even numbers is the most important aspect of a match up.
Re: Estoc Trials - War #9 - General Updates Have certain wars with a exact number of members, like 25-30-35-40, only
Re: Estoc Trials - War #9 - General Updates Lol kaw_admin disappeared again. Answered a few questions for the sake of answering. Now go talk on clan chat or pm. thry arent listening
Re: Estoc Trials - War #9 - General Updates just a proposal: 1. Have a size requirement and put them in brackets example: 29-31 --- 34-36 --- 40-43 2. have a strength requirement for clans for small, medium and large clans example: small - 100m total CS medium --- 200m total CS --- large 300m total CS 3. have a ceiling and floor for those categories example: + or - 5m total CS small --- + or - 10m total CS medium -- + or - 20m total CS large 4. Do the same for BFA... 5. Let the clans figure it out... easier work for you guys and you dont have to micro-manage matchmaking... As for clans, they could keep track of their members in secrecy by PMing them of what their BFA are and writing it on excel, or wherever they could keep it for war assesment, clans are already rotating members anyway to get good matchups... as for the requirements to get in the war, i suggest devs apply those as to where most matches are found to have more participants Oh and lastly, reward losers with mith...
Re: Estoc Trials - War #9 - General Updates This will lead to less clans signing in too, due to not enough members or too many participants for a specific war. With all the problems we had this week, plus this new idea, just let me know when will estocs be a single 1 vs 1 match and 20 other clans watching because they don't meet the requirements. I'd like to stock up on popcorn before that
Re: Estoc Trials - War #9 - General Updates Once again. Keep testing during the season, continue to make a mockery of the whole tourney. You can't keep changing the rules Let the season finish. Make changes for season 2. If you put the # limit smaller (29-31) you will keep warring same 2-3 clans over and over again. Quite boring. At least with a range to work in you can vary your size\strength to fight new opponents If clan owners would just scout the opposition you would know their rough member #'s. matches won't ever be perfect and a difference of 0-5 players can, and has been just fine. Have been on both sides and have won on both sides with those small differences If clans don't wanna do work to ensure good matches then just hit the EB. War isn't for everyone. It can get pretty intense, in an artificial, virtual kind of way that is.
Re: Estoc Trials - War #9 - General Updates nothing said in the statement led me to believe any changes are being made. last few days? try two plus weeks, aka the entire rancor war period. "we may have to" - does not imply any change has been or will be made. Just looks like blah blah blah, enjoy your continued mis-matched wars.
Re: Estoc Trials - War #9 - General Updates @maniackis i beg to disagree... more clans will signup if they know what theyre gonna get... And bonus mith for losers would definitely help jumpstart it... as stated above, those were just examples the devs can figure it out themselves as to how brackets should be made in accordance to the most most participated/popular wars Could be brackets in 28-30, 31-33, 34-36 etc. their call. And in each of those brackets #2, 3 and 4 are applied... It is hard yes but one of the most important factor in Rancor wars, or in any war for that matter, is preparation. You dont go to war without preparing yourselves first... and thru those proposals... im sure the clans that arent gonna get matched are only the ones who were the odd man out... It would be a challenge for the admins and owners of clans to prepare themselves on how theyre gonna come in in the wars. ... but then again, i agree with what resilient_one said, its season 1 and definitely not the preseason...
Re: Estoc Trials - War #9 - General Updates Would this really lead to more no matches? With a higher restriction more clans will be closer to each other in member count, leading to less no match ups.
Re: Estoc Trials - War #9 - General Updates instead of devs figuring how the matches are gonna come out, let the players figure themselves on how they're going to come in... (and i bet most war clans are already doing so) the more they're gonna tighten their algorithms, the more no-matches will happen because of the given variables by each clan being too diverse that it would be hard to find a good match. If they eliminate that factor by giving a set of conditions, diversity would be reduced, if not eliminated less work for the devs, more even matches for the players... win-win situation for both and miths for losers will help encourage clans to join the wars...
Re: Estoc Trials - War #9 - General Updates We've addressed this before, unfortunately we cannot pause the matchmaking algorithm in the middle and let players change the numbers. It opens up a lot of issues and problems. Clans are adapting over time though. Based on the signups we are seeing, everyone is gravitating towards the popular 27-28 member sizes. Also, our no match % has been dropping.
Re: Estoc Trials - War #9 - General Updates We have looked into this, unfortunately it would entail significant development work which we do not have the bandwidth for at this time. In between seasons, we will look into what we can do to make it easier for players to war without spending money.
Re: Estoc Trials - War #9 - General Updates The match making system does support brackets, if you, as players, decide to sign up 10 clans between 50-60 and 10 clans between 20-30, it will match them up. The problem is that if players aren't doing this on a large scale, so it will just lead to more no matches.
