dear angus i am sorry that i was mean to you it is just that you hurt my feelings real bad and i was angry and i am really sorry
Chapter 1: hunting It's was a full moon, shining faint rays of light down to where I had set up camp for that night I had no fire to warm my very fair skin my brown hair was knotted I moved painfully pulling myself out of a pile of thorns but it was worth it, my tattered pants and T-shirt provided no protected from the thorns. As I got up, I got up I had blood all over my body dripping down making smearing coming off on anything that I brushed against I followed with the most amout of care I could not to alert the deer the tiniest bit that I was behind it. I had been tracking the same deer now for one and a half days now and I was running low on food THUD! The bolt fired from my crossbow hit and hit the deer in it's leg forcing the animal to stumble in pain through the thick undergrowth of the forest making the wound tear Painfully open makings it bigger untill the deer colapsed on a big lump of grass. I had been learning and waiting for this moment all my life growing and learning my skills such learning the throwthe rusty knife that I found when I was playing outside, I also learnt to use a yew bow my dad made from the yew that colapsed last summer making the wood able to be made into a bow but I never used it untill I turned seven From the turned 7 I was a little boy at that stage aiming a little yew bow into a tree and trying to hit a bird that was perched on the edge of the branch But this was different it was my first big kill that my poor family would trusting me to bring a good amout of meat back so we can survive the cold nights to come I pulled the deer through the broken branchs and the thorn bushes like the one befor. I cut open I deer over a river where i striped it's stomach contents out into the stream startling some fish that darted away trying to avoid the guts from the dead deer as I got closer to home I spotted a faint misty haze telling me that the villege that I lived in was preparing for a cold winters night where the weather was alwas upredictable, wheather it was going to snow, rain, or even some sun that the farmers had treasured each moment of it. I walked through into our little wooden hut on the outside of the college where I was meet by my old ragged dad called Robert who started cooking the deer. It was the first meal we had had in a few days and as soon as the fat touched my throat it felt the best thing I had had in well ever. Chapter2: for my love The hut I walked up to was the same type that I lived in I banged the door of my girlfriends hut her name was samantha Her hair was black and long she wore the same clothes as everyone a torn dress with holes and was covered in dirt from the long days she wore it She pulled me into a hug but her momentum keep her going and we feel into the sift dirt quickly adding red dirt to our cloths even though it did not matter because they were the only ones we had "Angus,Angus!"Samantha shouted in my ear "I have been thinking that we should run away from here." "why?"I said "this has been our home since we were born, both of us" "Do u love me our not?"her voice had strength like she had been waiting for this I pondered in my thoughts but soon I agreed that the best thing we could do was run away. Abandoning our families but life was better away from home. Were we could live without fear of hunger like now we had a little food in out stomachs but the thought of food made our tummies rubble Chapter 3: Our escape I woke up early today and collected the carcass of the deer that I killed with my yew bow two days ago and stripped the carcass's remaining meat from it and stuffed it in my leather pouch and then took a few things and ran outside where Samantha greeted me with a hug "are you ready?"I asked "As ready as I'll ever be," samantha giggled And we ran to the camps middle where we toke a horse that was black and left a little money in it's spot but it was still not enough to buy it and we ran out of the camp My hair was pulling at my skull as we bolted through the forest and it was only shear luck that we did not stubble and fall off the horse We came along a fire that someone had left in a haste and did not put it out which provided us with warmth and a way that we could cook our meat. So I decided that cooking on a spilt would be the easiest way. My first attempt the meat slid of the end and the second I burnt but as always it was third time lucky and we ate a little chunk each for our dinner Chapter 4. Wolfs of the forest We awoke early and found the fire that we cooked our first meal on was now smoldering and only a few coals with a glow of red to them. I went the the stream that I found when I was exploring to find food or other remains the man had left behind and collected some water that I brought back to the remains of the fire where I woke Samantha up and put the coals into the water turning it from freezing to a warmish temperature that we shared and poured the water over our head to wash the sweat from out limbs. We mounted the horse we had taken and galloped away. Branches tearing my skin until we came to a clearing around fifty meters squared and it was then I heard wolves the howl that the send out when there teaching there young how to hunt but this one was the angry type when someone was warning you to get when your in someones territory The wolves jumped out of the outer rims of the clearing cutting off every escape route that we had I produced my bow from within my cloths and shot a wolf dead straight in the eye. I took aim again this time getting the next one in the foot pinning it to the spot. The wolves had now covered half the space between us and the rim The wolf leader had appeared between two large trees and then it stubbled into the shrubs it had been killed but by what and more important who I took aim again but they were ready for my arrows and the arrow missed by a hairs breath and took a hair with it blood started purring from the wolf but it was still determined to defeat the person who had killed two of it's companions "there's to many!" Samantha said "we have no cha... But trailed of because a man appeared in a cloak with black amour radiating bravery and ran into a knot of wolves and his pace did not stop he cut them with his sword and I fired a arrow that hit a wolf that was in mid air and would crunched the spine of the man and he looked around surprised a wolf had avoided his guard but we were more grateful After a minute of fear the attackers retreated into the forest and we had no desire to follow the beasts Chapter 5 The royal knight "who are you?" I asked the knight who saved us "I'm sir John the royal,"John said "I'm on a quest to protect the people of the forest" "we are very thankful,"Samantha said "and what do you need from us?" "nothing, but there is one thing I want to do, it's come with you two,"said John "ok, but is there a way out of here, john?" I asked Sir John climbed into the saddle of the horse and bent backwards to get a tube that was weather worn and had rain marks all over it John slid the cap of the end of the tube and took out a piece of rolled up paper which John laid out and started studying it for the city where we could earn a living. It was sunset when I finished with the map and it was marked with red soil that I dug from beside myself and the trip would take us around five days to the city but first Samantha needed a weapon Chapter 6 weapon finding We awoke to the knights sword being sharpened and I hastily got our breakfast ready trying to fight the numbness of but my fingers would not obey me and I ended up putting jam on my dry bread and this morning I did more and more of the things. "Angus!," I heard Samantha shouting where was she the only thought that she had been taken while I was packing up our few possessions But those thoughts were stopped as Samantha ran out of the scrub holding a crossbow it was old from being out in the weather and worn but it could still fire a bolt and her other hand produced another piece of worn equipment but it was a leather bag with a tattered string around the top it was holding it contents like a secret and I had to get john to slice a hole in the side to get what's out. It was steel bolts and but a slight bit rusted but they would serve the purpose there had been forged for Chapter 7 a new friend We had been riding all morning our legs cramped from not moving but now we had to get of the thorns here where thick and the branches like spears waiting for a unlucky passer to stumble and fall into it's clutches. "there!" pointed John there was a faint light coming from the path we were traveling but it was not also that there was a bird a small one like that comes to a bird feeder but it was not flying but it was then we saw that it's chest had been scratched by a branch but this was not a minor would but could prove fatal because it would starve the little bird to death, Samantha ran forward to pick up the bird and tore a strip of her dress and tired it around the little birds chest and got a bread crumb that was stuck to her cloths and feed the bird It was all it needed and it started chirping and it said a faint but distinct word"mirdian." At I was puzzled until John said it must be it's name and it had a very rare gift it was the gift of speech He also said it was a crime to kill these special birds Chapter 8 It was early afternoon when we came out from the thorns and trees and the sun was out on such a cold winter giving heat to our limbs and the little bird was flying a little but not staying in the air so merdial perched in samanthas hair filling it with it little feathers from it wound that was healing fast and had pink skin where it had been cut. As merdial, John, Samantha and I emerged from the bush we were met by wooden huts and people who spoke in a language that we did that understand but however this people had cloths not torn at the place I grew up and ran away only a few days ago
