Only a heartless person would leave after hitting a dog. Common curtsey insist that you at least try to find out if it had an owner, if not, call local services to retrieve the body.
I agree with Moose here. Honestly, I hold more compassion towards animals, especially dogs and cats, than humans. Dogs, if trained right can be your best friend, your guard dog, you entertainment, and can help you with a lot of daily things including work. Cats are great for pest control and entertainment.
License plates don't "fall off vehicles" when you hit a dog. Believe me I know. I have many splatter kill achievements, and even one triple kill.
Rusted, that is what it is like with my dog, i treated him as my best mate and in return he treats me as a best mate too.
Consider the driver's situation: maybe it was in a rush to get something. Even if is not very ummm morally accepted to drive over an animal, imagine if instead if a dog it was a cow. You would probably be writing about the death of a person, right? Since always, lives of humans are priority when accidents like that happen. Maybe not the most fair thing to do but, imagine yourself as the driver.
My girlfriends dog was hit by a car and the guy didn't stop...it was an accident. If he stopped what was he gonna do what would I say to him? I didn't like her dog much anyway always barked at the tv and her ex boyfriend got it for her.If I hit a dog it would depend on how many people saw me do it I guess. What would you want me to say? "Sorry I hit your dog" or "hey sorry you can't control your animal yo" or "hey who's gonna wash this off my truck" I don't mean to be insensitive but it's an awkward situation a dog can mean so much to a family or it's owner but cars drive on the street accidents happens...but honestly if I'm texting/kawing and driving and run over a cat I won't blink an eye cause @
If i was the driver, i would have stopped to see if it was alright, even if it was any animal or human and if the animal or person wasn't i would have done what i could to get them help
I love going to Asian countries and playing guess the animal, and troll is right, deep fried all tastes the same... True story
Quite frankly I like my dogs more than 99% of the people I meet (on or off kaw ) and quite frankly if I hit a dog and have the option to pull over, I'm taking it. If I was driving and saw a human in one lane and a dog in the other well then the human had better be limble or someone i like.
You're sick. You'd rather hit a person than a dog. Let me make this simple. A DOG IS AN ANIMAL. Do you pull over if you run over a bug? (I hope not, you'd never get anywhere.) Do you pull over if you hit a rodent? Animals are not on the same level as humans. Plain and simple. Now, that being said, if I hit a dog will I feel bad? Sure. Will I go tell the owner? Perhaps. Will I think about it the next day or if I'm in a hurry will I stop? No. In fact more than likely I wouldn't stop because I wouldn't want to hear an earful from the stupid owner that let it run in the road.
