@ thepieman The west would not complain that Asia gets war slots. Nobody said less war times but only give Aussie/Asia the opportunity to support their war slots.
I can see why a round or a primal could be difficult, but I don't see the logic in not having an indie war in an asian time slot, unless ATA can't be bothered having someone do a night shift to run it.
@Real Yes, it's probably nobody in the 80 odd staff they have can be bothered to do it. Which I believe is not good for the long haul of the game. Here's a parable. I'm a left-handed guitar player. I play a left handed Fender Strat. Only 7% of the population is left handed, and Fender could have easily said,"screw you lefties. If you wanna play, fix it yourselves and play it upside down like Jimi Hendrix did. ". Of course we could have tried that, but I am forever grateful to Fender for making left-handed Strats, even if it means I had to pay a couple hundred bucks more than a righty would. Same goes for ATA. Perhaps we Asians are not your bread and butter anymore. However, I bet many quit because they saw how bad the service is. If you show us a bit of love, we will show you some as well.
True. It could be. However notice that Kaw_community is nowhere to be found on any of these Asian time threads, which at least suggests a degree of apathy on their part.
I'm not claiming any kaw personnel r vigilant in forums but surely someone must be on shift for any disruption
In S4 they tried to schedule wars a little bit later for a week or so but the turnouts were terrible so they went back to the old schedule.
S4 had a 9 hr dead zone from 9pm til 6am PDT. It still limited the ability of Aussie/Asia peepz to war as often as they wanted. There was a post from ATA at some point stating not enough activity was the reason. Idk if during early S4 season or before but somewhere close if i remember correctly. Still my curiosity nags me if it remains true still. I've no clue how much resources r needed for another try but still support another try. I'm also guessing that ATA can track activity to substantiate their reasons to hold fast. Maybe they can release this data n help clarify why or what they deem reasonable activity to reinstate wars in that gap.
My recollection is a little different than yours. I think the abandonment of Asian times came at the end of S2. At the time as you recall, there were only round wars. I remember feeling frustrated in S3 because we go so many no matchups. I think this was a result less of not enough clans warring, but too many clans using SH/GH exploits to avoid clans they dont wanna fight. Now however we have primals and indie. Primals might not make that much of a difference, but why not at least try some indies at the 7-9pm asian time slot? I would be there. It's better than having nothing at all. The way it is now, unless I quit my job or give up on sleep, I cannot keep up with the Americans during the season wars.
PvP event ended 7am here. I had collected over 2700 shards and only had 4hrs sleep in last 72hrs of event. Died in the end @5am of exhaustion 2 hours short of the 7am finish. 257 steals in 37 mins I received taking a "power nap". Had enough for lvl3 award but ended up with only lvl1. Someone has to draw short straw but usually Australasian timezones draw it. Same as we don't get a war of our evening. "Doesn't suit American Developers". You don't mind accepting our money tho. War at midnight or 6am or no war for at all. War at midnight? No problem. I don't need sleep. War in my afternoon/evening when I actually have time?Fat chance.... Give Australasia a fair go
Agree. Although there are parts I think could be fixed. I'm not exactly sure Asia/Australia has to always draw the short straw. Even if they do, there are ways to make that straw a little longer. If they ended the event at 9am instead of noon, Vancouver/California timezone would still have a good opportunity for early Saturday participation, while you could have gone to bed at 4am-- not ideal but a hell of a lot better than 7am. The idiot who decided the event would end at noon PST should be taken behind the barn and shot.
While I can understand the desire that Frog expresses for ATA to provide services more suited to his needs, what I can't understand is why the heck he continues to play a game that evidently causes him so much grief and distress. Good grief, Frog, go play something else. At this point it's like petitioning a rock to grow wings and fly. It looks like ATA isn't going to do it. I recall an earlier kaw_comm comment in another thread stating that when they tried time slots for asia/Australia the turnout was bad and didn't justify it. So, you may be PROCLAIMING a demand for certain times, but their evidence says that not enough players show up to make it worthwhile for the company. So go play something else. I'm sorry you're frustrated, I would be too. But 5 years in a game is still just 5 years in a GAME. I'm sure you can find something else to tap that fits right in with your work schedule.
Maybe so EASY but the ppl with the passion for KaW persist for that very reason. What other app compares to KaW for those dedicated ppl is out there to replace KaW n all that it offers that keeps their interest so high n keen?
Don't need to be please. A solution was offered to ATA here and on the petition thread. They chose to ignore it. Making the PVP even end at noon instead of 10 shows they are not putting much thought into it at all, let alone catering to a specific group.
My 1st war of any kind was ASW 3 Tourney in 2012. It spanned 36hrs with 3-8hr wars over a weekend n was a blast n i was hooked. Maybe something similar can be introduced eg monthly or bi-monthly. Any other idea out there is welcome after what the PvP event showed us. I'm hoping the devs r cookin up something.
