Actually, I do have a pretty good idea how much ATA makes in a day. And, from what I've seen, the devs aren't "greedy". If were going to talk about raw unbridled profit milking, lets take a look at clash of clans. Thst team if developers makes ten fold more cash than ATA, and their game is almost strictly pay to play when you get to the higher levels, which is why I deleted it (among other reasons) ATA isn't the 800 pound gorilla in the room that you may think it is. ATA is more like a mom and pop. Us ones who Churns out a comunity based product and makes a decent (not lavish) living at it.
@OP, the fact that you realised this now suprises me a lot. It has been like that for years, devs don't give a single **** about the community lol. Cash is all they see, and who blames them? Enough idiots who keep paying for all they do, so why not profit. EDIT: Moose stop kissing devs asses and comparing kaw to coc, thats utter bs. Those 2 games are way different, in size and concept. It is a fact that devs are greedy, don't deny it.
CoC makes between $2.4million - $5.5 million daily. He's not sucking up. ATA is a business. If, as the consumer of a freemium app, feel free to delete it and leave.
This brings on another complicated and debatable discussion. A great question is "are the creators/deva making/running the game to create a happy environment for the enjoyment of others, or just for the money"? A great gaming company named kixeye stated "We don't make games to make money, we make money to make games." That is an excellent quote that I hope one day ata can translate more into it.
If your were the owner of a company such as ATA, wouldn't you be doing the same? Generosity won't keep a company afloat mate, and IMHO they've been more than generous, and they've had responded to our needs almost every time.
Last year ata release a report mentioning something like 5million made during the year leading up to it. At the time they had something like 15-30 people on payroll. After expenses of just paying all these people an paying for server space. We aren't looking at much profit at all. And this year they kept pouring some money into FC and Gaw. Plus spent more of the profit working on smash and that racing game I don't see money hungry. If you're hfbc you don't need the benefits. The goal of events is to give rewards to help people get to your level. Not keep you ahead
Sometimes posting intelligent rebuttals is as useful as pissing in the wind. Someone posts a thread about money grubbing devs and someone else could respond by posting the devs w2's proving other wise and 10 minutes later, another player still posts "support op". I work at a restaurant. If someone comes into my place of business, sits down at one of my tables and tells me, that they really want this particular burger but it's to expensive. That they have mortgages to pay and children to feed! You wouldn't do that, right? So why would you say that in this game? Kaw is no less a business than my restaurant. I have to treat it that way. There are several employees that I like very much and for many of us it really does take on a sense of community. As much as I enjoy that, business is the more prominent characteristic. If they stop performing their jobs, I have to terminate them. If I stop paying them, they will quit. I don't work for free and neither do the devs. Start treating this like a normal business and maybe you can see just how ridiculous it is to complain about money grubbing devs.
If anything, i feel if you are the one that's greedy. Along with those cry babies about the tokens. It was given free, and it seems like whenever the developers do something for the community, most players want more free stuff. It is a game where you can make in-app purchases, and if you want more than what the developers give for free, then spend some money like the rest. The developers need to make money somehow, because if they dont you wont even have these events in the first place. There is no need for whining because the developers already give you enough free stuff. Be happy, and put some cream on that butt that is hurting.
@kog. It is still a business. In what way do you feel this gaming business should be treated differently, and why? That's a nice opinion you have but some support for it would be nice
They are exactly the same thing. Both are businesses that survive by selling their product, be it food or a phone game. This should be pretty obvious stuff tbh.
This post made me want to hurl stop calling businesses greedy and if you can't pay to play then don't pay no one is forcing you to play or pay if you have a family and can't do both then put the game down! What's your solution Mr.Obama give free things and be a non profit organization ? This isn't the Red Cross its a game don't ***** about it just quit if you don't like it
The opening post was seriously old. One day the message may finally get through to people that kaw is a product and not a care in the community app and then we won't have any of these tired threads clogging up AT ever again.
