If I'm comparing two things so different, why must the punishment be harsher? Lol. My point ISNT that the first half balls didnt play any factor to the game, which it didnt, but that the Pats arent to blame, or solely to blame for this. Literally, half the NFL league didnt care enough to put their heads in this much, and the other half does, as reports have said. The must mean something in regards that this isnt as big of a deal as some other things. Which would bring the point of, why should the Pats get such a large punishment? Put 2 and 2 together...and be rational. That would make no sense on giving such a large penalty.
Oh I do. Don't worry. Tom Brady has been a Whiney crybaby since day one, and he cheats right along with their bellichek. But he used to be a decent player.
At first glance I thought wow, I must be an idiot if a moderator is getting so upset over an opinion, but then I read your statements, you deny, deny, deny. Your a bassist patriot fan. That's fine, however your team has been caught cheating before, Belijoke and CryBrady are known cheaters, I agree, there is no way the colts would of won! I made that point, what it comes down to is The Patriots cheated. The broke the rules, and there needs to be some type of punishment, do I think the game should be replayed? No that's ludicrous. And if you honestly think the Head Coach and the figure head of the organization had no idea about it you sir are a joke.
Here, have fun dissecting this. http://www.nepatriotslife.com/2015/01/p ... l.html?m=1 Maybe the colts did something to the balls? Whaaaa. Lol.
Ok so 11/12 balls were under inflated. These balls are kept in the warm rooms prior to the game and then brought out into the cold air before the game to warm up. A ball just like a tire losses psi when subject to cold weather. Proving that the balls were intentionally deflated becomes much harder and precarious position for the NFL. In order to lay blame they have to prove they were intentionally deflated which is very hard to do unless like Moose said " the equipment manger falls on the sword." Just as a side note 4 of the colts footballs were also found to be under inflated. Could Tom notice the balls were under inflated sure. Is it his job then to go directly to the official and say hey this doesn't feel right ...No. His job his to throw the ball and hand it off. As I said before it is the officials job to make sure all equipment in the field of play is legal. From uniform to cleats to kick stands to the balls. Everyone wants to make the Pats out as villains but the fact is this is the NFL's blame as much as anyone's.
Warm air expands. If footballs were filled with hot air, then exposed to cold air( outside ambient) they would naturally deflate after 2.5 hours. Ever notice your tire pressure gradually increases while driving? The heat (friction) generated from driving expands (technically increase molecule speed) the air, thus increasing pressure. Same works in reverse, the tires' pressure drops as their temperature does. Same concept can apply to a football. Fill it with warm/hot air, watch pressure drop as it cools. No tampering needed.
I'm not necessarily arguing for the specifics of genocides Punishment schedule, but, you're too far on the soft side.. A team cheated to get Inti the Super Bowl and your statement is "Meh. We would have fine anyway so rules be damned" And how could Tom Brady, an elite professional who handles footballs 6 days a week and makes a living of if possibly have ordered or even known about such a thing??? Your suspension of disbelief is shocking. Are you saying that an over zealous equipment manager decided to take this risk on his own right before the game? Are you telling me that some unknown scrub who makes minimum wage decided to tamper with regulation balls and risk all this scandal on his own with no orders from Brady? Does that really seem likely? Or is it more likely that Tom wanted some insurance and ordered that those footballs be tampered with? If option "A" is correct, they why wasn't Brady angry at the interview, vowing to get to the bottom of this outrage and checking things out? The answer is because it was Brady who was behind it.
Everyone wants to say this didn't change the game, but really we have no idea. Proper footballs are harder to throw, meaning that Brady might of messed up a throw or two and they could've turned into interceptions, the colts may of built momentum after something like that. We truly can't say how the game would've went if proper balls were used, therefor I think a replay of the game is justifiable.
Regardless of whether or not these were on the scale of the other incidents or not, rules were broken, and their should be consequences. Suspensions being the lesser of other options. This action may not have but was "intended" and could have directly effected the outcome of the game.
I am NOT a Patriots fan and I am NOT defending them however I would like to know how much pressure is lost in a football during the course of the game and I would like to know how much pressure is lost when someone is testing a football. ( putting the needle into the ball you're going to lose some air I believe. ) with that being said if the intent was to cheat which would be having less pressure in the ball I agree that Brady should not be playing in the Super Bowl.
I still don't get it, okay so the balls were under inflated, said balls were inspected by the refs, said they were good for use, so how exactly is this solely on New England? Also another factor to deflation, as posted by Rob Gronkowski. WARNING: Gronking may cause deflation. This is actually true. If you've ever throw a ball at the ground hard, air pressure is actually pushed out to absorb the impact and stop the ball itself from bursting.
People cite that the locker room is warmer so the balls may lose pressure when they get outside. Although the application of physics here is correct, the Amount of deflation is not correct. Taking a ball from the warm locker room to a cold stadium won't cause a drop of 2.2 pounds of pressure per square inch. Those numbers don't add up. Also, it does rub me wrong that the patriots are throwing illegal footballs down the field and the determination is "it the fault if the refs for not checking or noticing the problem" That logic does not fly with me. If you tamper with the balls, its your fault. Not the fault of the refs who didn't notice.
I still believe that everyone is too quick to nail brady or his coach to the cross. Let the investigation, if there is one, carry out and then crucify whoever is behind it.
