deflate gate. American grid iron talk

  1. Deflated balls are also easier for running backs to hold onto/keep in their grasp and not fumble. Not saying Blount would have fumbled with a properly inflated ball, but many of the former players have said that balls that are underinflated are easier to hold onto.

  2. that isn't relevant. blount is a talented back.

but you obviously aren't reading the arguments that people have been putting forward in this thread; because it has been mentioned several times: they could not have known that the colts would have a bad game. they would have gone into the game assuming a tight competition. the fact that they didn't NEED to cheat, doesn't mean they didn't cheat. the fact that they PROBABLY would have won anyway, doesn't mean that they didn't cheat.

i haven't seen anyone make a believable argument about how the colts would have won if the balls were properly inflated, so i don't know why people keep arguing against an argument that no one is making.

  3. Except that said player has repeatedly denied this. He says he was never aware anything was different and didn't notify anyone. Has even tweeted this.

  4. Can you link me to the tweet pr sports article where this was said?

  5. Im not even a patriots fan, i want tthe seahawks to win lol.

  6. thanks for pointing that out. apparently it was the equipment manager who noticed, after being handed the ball by the line by jackson. not jackson himself. i either misread the story before or read a factually incorrect version.

Can you still give me the link? I would like to read the article

  8. oh, but i just found a neat little article. apparently the ravens had tipped off the colts and the nfl before the game about this. the ravens noticed under inflated balls in their; much closer, 35-31 loss against the patriots. the NFL was planning on thoroughly testing the balls at half time anyway.

i take back what i said about the patriots being allowed to play at the superbowl. the ravens were the better team, they should have been the ones to go. (you have no idea how much i hate the ravens, i almost threw up as i typed that)

  9. moose always deletes my links. because he is a nazi ungulate.

edit: when did they uncensor "nazi"? neat.

  10. Let's go Seahawks. Pats are the pats they cheat once you do it you never stop. Regardless of how the Colts played it doesn't matter the pats rigged the game in their favor. Enough said

  11. Just message it to me

  12. Yea I've been seeing that while looking for something to back myself up. Haven't read it yet though.

Watched a video of nfl.com saying right now only talks of punishment are Loss of draft picks

  13. i imagine they will fine the team above the min 25k, too. but unless they uncover some evidence about who actually held the needle, i doubt that it will be significant. its a shame. making it to the super bowl is worth a fortune, and the fine will be completely insignificant.

  14. Let's just hope it's a good game. No lights going out. No blow outs.

I was a baseball fan before I started watching NFL. Scuffing and grease/spit balls, stealing signals is all part of the game.

I still feel this all promotional...The commercial spots are expensive as hell.

Look on the bright side. If you are a Seahawks fan you have a automatic defense when you lose. The Pats are cheaters who like to run up the score. Go figure...

  15. Oh yeah. Deflated balls? Warning. Small fine is a joke.

  16. I don't like the Pats personally but Brady and his soft balls (I had to) need to take the blame. As you stated, the QB is responsible for the equipment, and he obviously didn't have confidence in his team or he wouldn't have cheated!

  17. Actually he isn't. Equipment manager makes sure pressure and all is good then the officials check everything couple hours before game time. Once deemed good they are placed in a bag and taken to the field. I'll double check this for accuracy

  18. So could the officials have been in on it or were they deflated after the officials checked em...?
This is gonna turn into a conspiracy!

  19. Just gonna slide my 2 cents in, then run away. Colts would have lost either way, the 7 points they scored would have been the same, the defense wasn't playing with soft balls. The only effect... Or is it affect? Either way, the only effect/affect of Brady liking small, soft balls, is that the Colts were a bit more embarrassed. Do the Patriots deserve a penalty for this? Obviously. Cheating is cheating. But they shouldn't lose a Super Bowl spot for a game they would have won either way.

  20. This argument... There's no telling what could have gone wrong if the patriots had not used underinflated balls. Brady could've made some bad throws (as he prefers the ball to be underinflated and probably throws better when it is), leading to interceptions. Or Blount could have fumbled. There's really no telling what can could have happened if the patriots had not (allegedly) cheated.
