Criminals

  1. You can't sue someone for cheating on you. That's absurd

  2. OP your ideas are ok except they should be used as preventative measures instead of punishment.

Sterilization should also be given as a punishment in some cases. No need for people to be having children if they're going to be in prison while the kid grows up.

  3. What about those who commit crimes as a matter of principle. Let's say there is a sub culture dedicated to dictating the crime rates. From minor crimes to major crimes. For monetary gains and general principle. Let's say this sub culture has music that blue prints exactly how to go about causing this sort of chaos.

I just ask because this really sound like the 90's in my opinion. In these conditions does your leniency still apply? Are criminals really that misguided?

  4. Ok so if you consider vile acts are only done by those that are mentally disturbed, then what, let them go and give them a special weapon of their choice? The reason they are incarcerated is to protect society from them , let's be honest it is NOT a correctional system there are very little "corrections" happening. I personally believe that or prolonged lack of discipline the last 40 years has led to this mostly due to the "forward" thinkers like yourself. Children today have far more liberties and it manifests in a display of a fraction of the respect our forefathers were required to have and display, the mere fact that you say you could be considered an adult tells me you are not yet an adult, this is no reflection of you age but maturity.

  5. The opening post is possibly the biggest pile of crap I have ever read. (And in this game that says a lot). There are absolutely no facts backing up any of these "thoughts". What a pile of verbal diarrhea. As someone whom works in the correctional setting I can unequivocally state that most people who commit murder do not get life in prison or a death sentence. In fact it's almost the opposite. I've seen people convicted of drug offense get more time than the majority of those convicted of murder. If anything the criminal justice system is far too weak and pandering to criminals.

That being said I do agree that not every situation is the same. That is why motive is a huge factor in the sentencing process. The system often gets it wrong and sentences too harshly but more often then not it is the opposite.

  6. I sense a disturbance in the Conservative Realm a Liberal has begun to speak

  7. Now this guy has it rite, well said.

  8. annnnnnnnnnd TARGET!

  9. @kat

What OP displayed isn't forward thinking.

Basically forward thinking is when you plan for the future. So instead of sending someone to jail after they committed murder and they have kids and you gotta look after the kids and make sure they don't suffer trauma etc, you make sure that everyone in society feels included and has a healthy development.

Though I do lack respect for some people who I think have done bad/stupid things. If no one were allowed to show dissent, then we would all be fascists.

That being said, I disagree with what you said about children lacking respect for people. These liberties prevent abuse of children which may cause trauma that can again cause things such as mental illnesses to emerge. Children don't spontaneously learn to disrespect people. It is an acquired personality trait.

As a paraphrase of what Nelson Mandela once said: "If people can be taught to hate, then they can definitely be taught to love, for love is stronger than hate"

  10. Op is trolling. Nobody is really that stupid.

  11. I didn't read the whole thing.. But it seems to me that youre saying murder should be justified if they commit murder for emotional purposes.. I personally think you should be locked up yourself. If that's what you said of course. I'm not going to read the thread. That would be pointless.

  12. It looks like someone knowledgable about the subject has posted on my thread. However, the main idea isn't about murder, it's about "criminals" in general. Every single one of these "criminals" has their own story. I'm trying to say in this thread that although motive is viewed, it doesn't weigh enough in the legal system

  13. Yes and no. I posted this thread to see if the KaWmunity thought there should be changes to the legal system based on motive. The overwhelming response was no, and I had to counterargue some points I agreed with because it's a debate thread, and a one-sided overwhelming victory is not even close to a debate at all.

  14. However, the part where I said humans are just as equal as cats, dogs, fish, etc. is true, and I also think I may have a mild case of antisocial personality disorder (psychopath disorder) but I haven't seen a psychiatrist.

  15. @devil, this thinking is almost exactly what I refer too. Respecting one another is a taught discipline. Too many kids are allowed to disregard what their parents say now days and no accountability is placed on them. I never said they need a beating so no need to site abuse on me. A great example is youth sports. When I grew up, if you wanted a "trophy" you and your team had to work hard, and earn it. Now little Johnny gets a trophy for signing up and attending one game. This everybody wins krap is what is wrong. I'm sorry Johnny you should actually do something to get an award.

As far as my "forward thinking" comment....that was sarcasm at it's highest.

  16. So yes, I admit I didn't believe in everything I argued in, but debates are fun, right?

  17. so op this is just getting good
