Name: The Damascene Royal Crown Description: A crown fit for a king, bringing control to the mind that wears it. Story: the Red War Paladins, loyal knights to the first kings of Damas, roamed the desert maintaining justice over the land. They were often burdened with the responsibility of defending their beloved damas from the encroaching dangers present in the desert. Legend has it that some great power existed deep in the desert. What this power was remained unknown. Many believed it was the fabled Estoc, a sword forged by a desert king that ruled the desert in ancient times. It is said that the damascene warriors overthrew this king and took his kingdom.Upon his death the desert king is said to have cast his sword into a sandstorm cursing the sword with a spell that would banish the power of the sword to the dessert until the rightful heir came to wield it.This heir would avenge the great desert king by destroying the damascene people with estoc, his sword. But this was just a myth to most damascene people.Whatever the desert possessed that kept it in such constant turmoil still remained unknown.what was known is that something in that cursed desert outside damas changed the Paladins forever. The paladins began to enter the desert for days at a time with no word of their departure. The king decided to follow one day. Relentless was the desert on his already failing health yet he pressed on. After 3 days journey, following at a distance, the king saw what was changing his loyal paladins. A sand storm in the midst of the desert that had at its base a glow of the brightest blue he had ever seen. The king progressed forward to approach his beloved paladins discovering the blue glow below the storm was a longsword made of glass. The captain of the paladins was filled with greed and ordered his men to kill the king in fear that the king wished to take their new found treasure. The Paladins did as commanded by their captain. As the king lay breathless under the desert sun the captain placed the kings crown on his head. The paladins could not approach the desert storm to collect the sword they so desired. So they sought out the Mage to enchant their equipment in hopes they might then endure the strength of the desert storm. Claiming to be the new king the paladin captain demanded these enchants come free. The Mage, seeing clear what had been done, cursed the paladins equipment with a a toxic enchantment twisting their minds. But as for the crown sitting on the captains head she placed a special enchantment upon it as she took it away amongst the paladins confusion. The Mage knowing the legends of the land knew the sword would one day destroy the damascene people. In hopes that this might be prevented she enchanted the kings crown to repel the desert storm powers that the sword embodied. The one to hold the kings crown could control the mind twisting powers of the paladin equipment and therefore defeat the sandstorm powers held by estoc..she then hid the crown away awaiting the time when it would be needed. Side note: in epic battle against the desert queen of Damas, Arkosa, ( Heir to the Estoc) daughter of Darius former king of Damas, one must have " The Royal Damascene Crown" equip to attack Arkosa during her sandstorm phase..Arkosa plans to have the damascene people destroy themselves to her entertainment and pleasure as they war each other in the estoc trials...defeating the estoc trials to get your crown and then defeating Arkosa drops the weapon Estoc from the epic battle : )
