You failed to address my point asking for how much 'a lot' actually is. If this is your justification, show us that 'a lot' actually is 'a lot'. And, are your new updates actually going to account for how many things the lands effect? Without asking for too many specifics, is any of the new content actually going to be a significant gold sink for BC?
Given the record of the past many lands these updates were always aimed at closing the gap. Some free, some costly. Which still didn't prevent the down fall of meaningful and entertaining wars (OSW or individual pvp) or the damages to the stripping aspect of war. Adding more allies to the market won't better strips. Lowering hit ranges won't help OSW. Building Tokens won't fix war. Not completely, and you said you want to monitor your update but these examples are all we have. Most of us will stop bickering and debating if we knew war wand (off-system) pvp was getting an update as well. It's just hard to imagine you would even try given this games track record and constant focus on epic battles. (Yes you work on EE, that is for a different debate)
1 what is the desired endgame for lb. never ending growth -> ideally there is no endgame and KAW continues forever. But it will require evolution and change. Both things we are working on. 2 what focus will you put back into making people desire to war -> we have some designs for new features but they are too early to talk about yet. We also are planning some balance changes that may help, again too early to talk about but they are around allies, hit ranges and bridging the gap (build tokens should also help with that) 3 we will accept adverts in the game to earn extra revenue to support the game. These could be opt out for spenders. -> cool. We can do that. We have the tech in PIMD and we can port it over. You can currently do it through offers in KAW though.
I'm glad for the new updates that are coming soon. It's promising to see you guys putting work back into KaW. I just can't see any of them (with the info we have) actually doing anything for the problems that come with every new land/build release. Unless maybe the new lands are at HL or HF level. That would be interesting. But as you've said a lot of BC want it, I imagine this isn't the case.
@Rusty, I'm not sure what game you've been playing this whole time, but players have always had to hit ebs or osfs/oafs (which are basically player ebs anyway) for funds to grow or even pot up. There has never been any incentive at all to pvp or osw because most "hardcore" pvpers don't need an incentive. New lands and new buildings aren't going to change that. What the BC lb do in their little penthouses in the skies has absolutely no bearing on my game whatsoever. When I'm too small to hit one of them when I want to, does that discourage me and make me want to stop playing, or encourage me to grow so I can hit them? With new building tokens (which we have yet to even see so therefore can't give any credible feedback on) being released, specifically designed to help combat the gap between smalls-mids-bigs, I think it's safe to say that they'll have an impact on every aspect of KaW.
Make adverts selectable to watch and we get a nobility or some such and I'm in on that. The offers have never ever worked for me. Destruction of new land buildings costing a full bar or more to repair as an incentive? Add competition to the lb ? New lowlands for smalls or extra highland / hoarfrost levels to assist smaller / mid players plunder that little bit faster ? Builds that train attributes like Mage ? Any appealing or not ?
Some good ideas here... there is a non progression related surprise about low lands in the new build actually...
Out of curiosity, when new content is released, will you give a thread with all the info before hand? Or will it be released like events? i.e. The thread comes out and the content is live immediately. I suppose what I'm getting at is will we have the opportunity to provide possible improvements and suggestions before release?
Will any of that be before new lands? I feel they should be before new lands because this is a War game and War is suffering in this game. These PvP updates: Will these allow PvP players to focus more on war actions over hitting an EB. I can not stress enough that Kaw's biggest flaw is the fact that I have to hit ebs more than other players in OSW and pvp. Will these update fix that? Is there a plan to make strips worth it (raising the amount of allies you have to own to reach max plunder would help a lot I mean, make that number as high as these new stats. It may be that simple. I would suggest that more than gold gets taken as well but that may have a strong opposition.) These aren't details I'm asking for. These are selling points. Will it happen before new lands? Will it allow me to hit players more than ebs durning War without worrying about falling far behind in growth? Also, why not allow drops per hits throughout events? Doesn't matter if you hit an EB or player you get a drop. The premium EBs would drop extra only. That would help as you rebalance. Though rebalance isn't a fun sounding change because I don't know what you mean by it, I won't judge it.
Currently, I can't release the data on how many people are build complete, it's against our internal policies. But I'll try and find a way to communicate the information in a way that paints the picture without telling you how many trees are in the forrest (if you catch my drift). No promises though. We do have some gold sinks planned. I hope they are significant.
Yes but before a clan could fail EB for months on end and not worry about not being able to hit their enemy clan. Now you have to hit ebs endlessly. Before OSW clans mocked the ones who succeeded ebs durning war. Ebs were used for growth but you didn't have to spend every day growing back then or every day getting allies. You could hard focus on targets and then grind after the OSW to catch up. You can't do that now. Also because of these endless lands those hardcore pvp players either retired around the time I did or decided to be bored and hit ebs and work for strips because they were not willing to end their war with the other clan. But it is much more punishing to pvp now then it was when it was just highlands and lowlands. You just don't fall behind on some lands and allies, you completely fall out of contention and lose the ability to even hit them. You also still have the issue that now clans can't hit the majority of the enemies clans roster. PvP shouldn't completely put due ebs but it should be able to be done at a heavy rapt without the attacking clan sinking out of contention of the EB clans
Would it be cool to pay a five, ten trlls to refresh quests, make them twice as hard every refresh. Would that work as a gold sink?
Plunder that is just not the case for all, I do spend some on this game and I am a very active player as well, I just dont spend every weekend to do trains and BC overnight, making 10+ trillion per eb. But otherwise I am very active everyday. I would venture to say that there are a lot that are the same as myself as well. So I think this game needs the high spenders, the average spenders and none spenders alike. This game would also not survive if those of us that can't or won't spend hundreds or thousands a month to play a game either imo, so the average player being able to make building goals is also important!! I enjoy this game and play ALOT, but I also have a family and other obligations at home to spend on. So spending for stats don't always mean someone is more active either.
@Mark... Non progression related surprise about lowlands? Could it be?! PRINCESS CASTLE UPGRADE! I will upgrade mine with pea-shooting, pitchfork-yielding , tutu-wearing reinforcement villagers <3 Castle code v.2!
