High School is rough even when you do not set yourself against the norm. However back when I went to school there was a lot less tolerance than there is today. Bullying is real, be prepared to accept that it will happen, and hope that it does not. However there is much more acceptance now than ever in history. From a person that had a negative look on gay people (I never said I was perfect my whole life) may I give you some advice. What made me understand it is this, I am attracted to women with dark/black hair, I do not know why, its just that way, I like Asian women, Married a Philipina. Does that mean I could never be attracted to someone else, NO, but its what my tastes are. Your tastes are different than mine, does that make either right or wrong. No it does not. So when you are discussing your preferences to someone else, relate it to their own preferences, it may be blond hair, blue eyes or whatever. Once they understand that you have no control over your own preferences any more than they do, it may make it easier. bottom line though is you need to be proud of who you are, not of your preferences, but deep down inside, as the world is cruel, its cruel to anyone that is not the "ideal" including those that are smart, overweight or whatever. don't expect it to be any less cruel to you.
I agree, Why do you have to be flashy to tell everyone who you are. It would look like you're asking for attention doubt you'll be taken seriously and get the respect you want. Just be you.and definately talk to those close to you about it 1st.
