A resounding NO. Absolutely not. If you enjoy long wars there is plenty of OSW going on in KaW. You can also arrange a system war clan vs clan with set lengths. Long EE wars would mean more xtals & no lifers would always win. No thank you.
Lord Sora: I think that you may have misunderstood. Full agreement with you on having a set schedule that folks can plan for. The suggestion was that the time slots on each day would vary, so Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday etc., would be different times but the same times each week. As for long wars, I do fondly remember the 48 hour wars of some years past; it might be worth trying again but that's a different issue than the one raised here.
Its not the time slots thats the problem its having primal and round wars which 99% of kaw choose not to participate in because of exploits that is the problem. People have been demanding the devs fix wars for what 3 years now and they have done nothing...its clear nothing will ever change. However longer wars?...heck no thats terrible.
Setting exploits aside (many threads on that), the fact remains that there are people who wish to war and who find in very hard with the current schedule. I think the argument is strong for staggering the war times between the days of the week.
Where I can understand your frustrations Kev, it's difficult to get times across the globe that suits the majority. Having said that I do think that Euro times haven't been great but whereas you fondly remember those midnight wars, I remember going to bed in the early hours of the morning and having to get up for work at 6am bleary eyed lol Everyone has different commitments and varying lives. Devs can't cater for all
Yes, my Queen, that is my point, there is no "ideal" time. Which is what my suggestion tries to address, to offer some more variety. So, for example, instead of wars in Euro being 08:00, 17:00 and 22:00 each and every day, why not (for example) schedule wars for 10:00, 19:00, and 00:00 each Tuesday ... and 12:00, 21:00 and 02:00 each Wednesday, and so forth?
You are just considering euro players, what about others? 8am (euro war) is just perfect for sgt peeps, even we face such issues. Rather than changing time increase number of wars.
Using Euro players as an example but I think considering everyone, the proposal would give everyone more options.
Its too bad that this thread didn't get any traction. It seemed like a very good idea to help increase ee paricipation by giving folks more options.
So, does anyone else here see the gist this issue and have a suggestion for a better fix? All that I am saying is that having the same war times each weekday eliminates those for whom these particular times interfere with daily RL responsibilities. Why not move the wars up or down by an hour or two on a few days of the week?
Here is an idea using logic and a little math. I know I already lost most people but hopefully the devs are still listening. Take the time slot that has the lowest participation for the week and move it by an hr or two. Then repeat this process every week til you have figured the 4-5 times that have the most participants and leave it alone.
It probably has been stated before, so I will state it again. Lower the time frames for wars 1 hour, as they were before, and bring back 6 wars in a 24 hour period, like S4. Enough said.
I had a friend who visited atas offices they had no fancy offices and was a small old warehouse. Devs don't make that much money don't hate on them. I used to do same but after what i found out they are not bad at all.
All the more relevant for S5 ... posted war schedule has the same 4 time slots each day for S5. Why not stagger the times between days to accomodate different schedules and to give more people a chance to participate?
