Re: Useless Tears =================================== Chapter 2 The Arena A huge explosion has been occurred in the distance. It was pretty far from them so they didn't see any clue if what happened in the distance. "I'll bet that it was a monster." Dev said as they run to the explosion. "Are you sure?" Hero asked with a mysterious smile on his face. "Why? What do you think it was this time shamanic sorcerer?" he asked annoyingly. "Just wait and see." he answered back, smirking. They continued running until they had sighted a huge arena from the distance made of hard steel. "See?" Vin chuckled as he felt Dev's disappointment. "Fine, fine you won. So, what now?" he asked as he shrug and look at them. They just look at each other before Vin suggest an idea, "Go inside, of course." He walk through the entrance while the others follow him inside until they found themselves at the bottom of the arena. The arena was huge and it was shaped in a big dome with a big hole at the top in case of lightnings or flying competitors. In the middle of the arena stood a stone battle field. There is another section after the battle field to where they will enter the field. At the side of the battle field, in the middle, sat three people who serves as a judge, and at their side was the referee. They climbed upstairs and find a seat to watch the battle. "Should we really just watch here?" Vin asked as they approach three vacant seats. "Shh. Let's watch for now." Dev whispered, letting Vin kept quiet as they watch the competitors battle each other. The enemy shoot out a dark ball while his opponent just keep dodging it. He was pretty fast so none of his dark balls hit him at all. His opponent shoot out a vast of lightnings from his fingers and he hadn't manage to dodge all of them, making him weaker. "Hey, why don't we join the next battle? Maybe we can have more money here." Dev asked them as they continually watch the two competitors. "Later Dev, after the battle." Vin said without removing his sight from them he felt that something bad is gonna happen there. His opponent shook one more lightning but the enemy manage to avoid being hit by the lightning as he make himself a black force field that surrounds himself. He shook more lightning but it was useless as the black force field just absorb all of his attacks. The audience watch intently without removing their eyes in the competitors. He finally remove his shield, but he manage to surprise his opponent with a lot of dark balls that hit him badly. He didn't notice that the other balls had almost reach the audience. There were even one of those balls which had hit Hero but he just shield himself with his sword and the dark ball had dissolve in thin air. "That was close." Dev reacted. Hero didn't mind at all as he continually watch the battle. I mean, sense the battle, since he had a blindfold with him. The enemy didn't miss his chance. He make himself a huge dark ball with strange electric flowing through it. He quickly send it out to his opponent but he dodge before it manage to hit him. His enemy make another huge dark ball quickly but he just dodge it with ease. He attack one of it again but he just kept dodging it until he rest for a few moments. His opponent didn't want to waste his chance. He shot down a rain of lightning from the sky and it hit right at him. The audience didn't know if what happened to him as they cover their eyes to avoid being blinded by the beams of light that surrounds the whole arena. Hero didn't care about the light since he was already wearing a blindfold with him. "Wrong move." he whispered as the lightning continually shook down the arena. Dev and Vin wondered as they heard him whisper. The lightning didn't seem to stop as they heard the lightnings still striking at him. They tried to see if what happened next but the arena was filled with smoke after the lightnings disappear which stopped them from seeing the result of his attack. "Darn! Why is there a smoke here?! It was just lightning!" Dev groaned as he wave his hands to remove some of the smoke. "You didn't know if what happened." Hero answered seriously. "And how did you say that again?!" he exclaimed at him. A humming sound can still he heard by the audience. They wondered if it was the guy who had an electric power or his enemy's dark ball. Something had exploded at the electric guy's side but they had no idea if what happened to them. The fight continued and the smoke disappear by the minutes pass. They just noticed the competitors when the smoke become thinner. The electric guy were panting hard while his enemy smirked and make a bigger dark ball. "Is it not considered as a winner?" Vin asked. One of the audience answered his question as he heard his voice that seems to be new in that place, "No, it wasn't consider until he's dead." They were both surprised of his answer as their eyes widened, "Dead?! But, that's way too cruel." Vin exclaimed. "Well, we can't do anything since that's the contest's rule." Dev said as he shrug at him. The electric guy was just waiting for his death, since he was very weak to dodge his opponent's attack. As his enemy flung the dark ball at him, the dark ball turn into a normal, rubber ball with confetti that scattered the ground. They were surprised to see it turn into a normal ball with such confetti which didn't hurt him at all. The audience laugh at the opponent but he just make another dark ball. The same thing happened, which make them laugh louder. They, the trio, look at Vin's magic staff and it pointed out at the dark ball. "You'll be in great danger if he discover that you are using your magic." Hero whispered but Dev just stop him from reminding Vin, "Come on, isn't that funny at all?" Dev asked him and he continued laughing like the others. Even his opponent giggle at him which made him very mad. He was surrounded by a black aura and he just looked down at the cold stone floor, concentrating at his power. "He's in major trouble." Hero whispered as he felt the strange energy from his aura. "Don't worry Hero, Vin can handle that right mate?" Dev answered him but he keep a straight face when Vin stared seriously at his dark power. Vin stare for a moment before he had come up with an idea, "Maybe I can tele -" Hero cutted his sentence before he can even end it. "You'll be noticed in that way and that will be counted as cheating." They watched the poor competitor and Vin just cover his eyes, "I hate this scene." he whispered. "Huh, that's why you want to save him don't you? Scared little magician." Dev teased. He didn't care of others opinion since, he expected them to say that, especially Dev. Then, after a second, he flung the black aura at his opponent and it almost hit him. Almost. The battle field was field with smoke, making them unable to see behind it. "What happened?" Vin asked. "Do you think I would know even without seeing a glimpse of it?" Dev groaned at the view, very annoyed. When Vin remove his hands, he saw the smoke around the battle field. Hero smirked as if, he knew something. "Did you know anything about this?!" Dev protested. After the smoke had gone, they saw the ground burned despite of being made of stone, and the other competitor are nowhere to see. The audience cheered as the champion was announced. "T-That's it?" Dev asked. "Well, that's better I guess." Vin said with a bright smile. "But, what happened to him?" Dev ask to Vin. "Do you think I would know even without seeing a glimpse of it?" Vin joke at him, making him more annoyed.
Re: The Flaming sword Yeah, I'm a noob cos I can't make my phone put an accent over the e in cliche. Smh. Anyway, Alaissa, cliche(see, I did it again) means something thats been done before or even overdone to the point of losing its effect. Like vampire romances, or zombie apocalypses or in your case, scared orphan waif vs evil sorcerer tyrant king. Not saying its not good, it is! However, that is where I was coming from. I don't mean to cut you down, I am just giving my honest opinion. You should definitely keep going. Looking forward to part two.
