Bridging the Gap

Discussion in 'Other KaW Discussion' started by W32SQLE_Anarchy, Nov 18, 2015.

  1. This is short and to the point. Thanks Hawk.
Reflects exactly what I said many pages back along with a few other things.
And btw OP, where are you getting your facts from that says KAW is losing new players at a higher rate now, than any time KAW has been running?

  2. Luck star I get those facts from looking at the player activity. Eg. World Chat.

Do you think there's as many people playing now as there was a year ago?

I like how all the chumps who used to chase me around forums (Hawk, Luck, Frog) have made a special appearance here and surprise, surprise, they agree with each other and not me.

  3. i have some ideas on how to make the game more appealing for new players, hear me out and if you like what you see re-post elsewhere to spread the idea

    - have a extra pvp / war option where the loser gives 10% of their earnings for the next week to the victor and/ or a sign up fee for the war so example the fee is 20xmax plunder and the victor of the war gets the losers fee ( in addition to war bonus etc.) i think this will increase the pvp side of kaw and make it worthwhile and more fun for the players

    - have new players earning 3x instead of 2 x but only for 4 days so they can play extensively the first 4 days and get hooked on the game like everyone else but also the 3x bonus would enable the new players to get their stats up to be able to compete in wars and other pvp/eb events that bigger players are doing so they can feel included in the community.

    - give new players a small piece of equipment just to boost them up and again another piece after 2 weeks of them playing the game. (starting equipment 500k att and def) or (500k spy att and def) the new player gets to choose and the 2 week bonus being ( 2mil att , 2mil def , 1mil spy att and def) or ( 1mil att , 1 mil def , 2 mil spy def and 2 mil spy att). this will give new players a sense of being able to compete with the existing community.

    - enable 2 player to hit a bigger or same stat player as one , with the attacking players sharing plunder as befits their strength, this imput in the game will provide newbies with the ability to combat the older kaw players and will also mean all kaw players with be able to take on stronger players in wars and pvp. a downside to this rule is then their will be no stat restrictions. or we could have the new players get that bonus only for 2 weeks and then lose it and everyone can only use that bonus in specific wars

all figures are just suggestions open for comment on how you guys think the figures should be and please constructive comments only

  4. Growing is so easy and you were a rich rich rich GH but now your only a 10m hansel? If you were such a rich GH you coulda sold allies and been big, and if growing is so easy you wouldn't be a junk account.

  5. Fact check please how do you know 80% of new players quit?

  6. Can't believe I'm actually posting this given the circumstances but.....he didn't say that bud. He stated "imagine if 80% of new players quit". Throwing the number out there to put perspective to it.

  7. Kaw needs to implement rewards based on Cs, big stats get silver bars and equip to waste their Mage items on, eg 20 mil Cs and up. Small stats get build tokens that must me used immediately. This stop sh from saving them up for example. Then they can grow to 20 mil and then they stop getting build tokens. Instead they get the upper tier of rewards. Thereby allowing small players to grow very very quickly. Allowing new players to catch up. This is just a quick idea the Cs range could be set diff. Also small builds could get silver bars and such as well. It's just a base of an idea that could be built off of.

  8. There is a game out there called "Game of War" where at low levels you can upgrade ridiculously fast. There should be this in KAW too, for about the first month of gameplay. It takes 4 weeks for a habit to set in. People in their first 4 weeks should get stat bonuses for being new.

  9. Support

  10. I agree -v-, good idea onesy

  11. Actually, there's a news article out there about KaW retention of new players, and after about a month of playing, it's actually 90% of new players who end up quitting the game.

But this has always been the case, so it's not a new phenomenon

  12. So kaw grows by 10% of new players staying. Q is what amount is that?

  13. ATA will never publish that information.

  14. Actually that has nothing to do with the way the number was used by him or how I reinterpreted it for the other guy:). I'm pretty sure Anarchy wasn't trying to represent factual statistics. Or at least the way it was written doesn't reflect that. But I doubt it since he is after all the "supremely sophisticated arrogant super noob" 

I don't, however, doubt your post at all. Still as it sits, there are still tons of active players at all stat ranges. So I suppose when it becomes relevant enough to support the need to bring new players into the game then I will support new player reform as well.

My biggest question would be, at what point does it affect anyone currently playing enough to merit lobbying for better newb retention? I guess maybe I'm to short sighted.

  15. Front - I'm not taking sides. Just trying to help the discussion progress with factual information, rather than conjecture.

  16. I know that. Didn't mean to sound like I was harping on it lol. Was just saying he didn't mean it to be a fact even if it was close to the fact:)

  17. follow up on my idea the smaller your build the more build tokens you get. For example a 1 mil Cs might get 10, 5 mil gets 5, 10 mil gets 3 etc

  18. Ok, cool ️️

  19. How dated is said article?
and that's not the only mention of statistics in this thread without circumstantial evidence.
There are far too many loopholes.

FINALLY SOMEONE IS ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS

  20. It's old. First time I saw it was like 3 years ago. And I think the article was nearly a year old by then.

I can't be assed to find it, so don't ask 

I'm sure some other crusty vet will have a link saved somewhere
