@immortal - Actually in my belief it is. I got a few happy people, and a few of my friends whom I know is depressed, including myself, and the people depressed saw black and blue, and the happy friends saw white and gold.
I'm not an expert on eyes or anything, but it might be. I see white and gold and I have absolutely no stress or anything at all. The emotion part makes sense to me as my friend's eye colour changes depending on his mood, it's amazing to be honest.
The dress is actually blue and black. The reason that people see it differently is because the brain might overcorrect the colors, because of the shadows.. If you see black and blue (like I do) then your brain thinks it's in an artificial lightened setting. If you see gold and white, then your brain thinks it's outside with blue skies on a sunny day.
Turn the brightness down to the lowest possible and then put the brightness at max... Blue and black with less light and gold and white with more light
It's blue and black, the lighting is from behind the source. Thus you do not see reflected light and your brain in some cases makes you perceive it as a known colour based on exterior influence and learnt colour recognition. Colour consistency for the correct term. Change the back ground colour outside of the frame of reference. Ie put the picture against a white background and you see one colour. Against a darker colour another. Tricky things our brains. It is also affected by monitor resolution and display settings. Hence why so many people on different devices see differing images. And why one should employ professional photographers when advertising.
Go watch the news. It's blue and black. No point arguing it when the news has proven what it is and that the brain is fooled by a low quality picture that causes an optical illusion.
The news? THE NEWS? By that logic, everything that the news says is true and that nothing could be manipulated to become true. I would recommend reading the book, Fahrenheit 451, and see how wrong the news could become, however still have people believe every part of it.
the ACTUAL color of the dress is blue and black. the colors shown in the photo are blue and brown. take a color sample with any sort of editor and you can see for yourself. if you see blue and black OR white and gold, your mind is playing tricks on you.
