Prime apparently believes if it's written on the net, it must be true. Like I said before, besides the opening riff, there is little in common with Taurus and Stairway, and considering Led Zep made that riff into a song worth more than 650 million dollars, I'd say they had a talent much greater than stealing.
Again, PASSAFIRE. Best band ever. Not a single bad song. And every album has it's own slightly distinct sound
Not sure if you are joking or not Ash, but my OCD will kill me if I don't say the lyric is "excuse me while I kiss the sky"️
Hmm... no particular best or favorite, but my favorites include: zeppelin, floyd, nightwish, doors, rush, breaking benjamin, tech n9ne, andy mineo, evanescence, kamelot, and epica. Just a few of the bands i have full discographies of. Others i like are queensryche, michael jackson, paramore, gwen stafani (no doubt), red hot chili peppers, and mackelmore.
Earlier i posted Pink Floyd as my fave but nobody touches the British Invasion ala The Beatles n their body of work by them all. Add Elvis to them n u have the only 2 shows ever performed that effected ppl the way they did. Add Woodstock as another phenomenon
There are several genres of music that have their own "great". The Beatles created modern day pop music. And with that, incidentally created alt rock. They had paved the way for artists to create music, but also be a bit odd with their lyrics, and weird became cool. As far as "ROCK" goes. You look at Zeppelin, The Stones, The Doors, Black Sabbath, The Who.... They were the beginning of rock as it is modeled today. The Ramones, and several other punk bands paved the way for dirty, raw punk music that eventually spawned "grunge". Thus creating my favorite 3 bands... Nirvana, Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden.
Every band signed to Virgin Records in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s were all the greatest bands ever. 1)The Clash 2)The Sex Pistols 3)Daft Punk 4)The Rolling Stones 5)Gorillaz 6)30 seconds to mars Ill even throw in phil collins. And the list goes on. Richard Branson is a music business god.
I really can't choose a best band. My personal favourite would be Ac/Dc, but can't say they're the best ever, given that many of their songs are repetitive and similar to each other. Queen, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Def Lepard, Arctic Monkeys(A.M album), Gorillaz, Bon Jovi, RHCP, System of a Down, Alice in Chains, Aerosmith, Disturbed, Halestorm, U2, Muse, Kings of Leon, One Republic, Florence and the Machine etc are all bands I like, so they deserve a mention. And (not to forget my heritage) of course a few Romanian bands :3
