Best Band Ever and Reason Why?

  1. I venture that crap song Mr. Big sang. What was that again?

  2. Ozzy is a great character and I love his solo albums, but Doi was the more talented singer.

  3. Surprised no one mentioned Anvil yet. ️anyone ever see that movie made about them?

  4. I would place Rush third among 70's metal bands, behind Led Zep and Pink Floyd but before Sabbath, Kiss, and Aerosmith.

  5. Need to discern metal and rock. Also need to mention Rainbow. :)

  6. Actually I take that back. Either way Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny trumps everything Kiss and Aerosmith did in the 70s

  7. Hmm, well Rush was in no way as commercial as Aerosmith and Kiss, they preferred to make great music instead. I consider Queen to be a rock band opposed to a metal band, and I guess Kiss could be thrown in their too, considering they both released Disco songs ( Another one bites the dust, I was made for Loving u)

  8. ALL AMERICAN REJECTS
    NICKLEBACK
    LINKIN PARK
    GREEN DAY
    30 SECONDS TO MARS

  9. I think The reason people like Led Zeppelin so much is due to their influence on bands coming after them. For example the Beatles are a great band, but how many bands say they want to sound like Paul McCartney and George Harrison? On the other hand there are millions of bands that try to sound like Robert Plant and Jimmy page. As far as rock singers go, there's no singer copied as much is Robert plant. As for the guitar, with the possible exception of Jimi Hendrix, most metal guitar players get their inspiration from Jimmy page. John Bohnam was by far the greatest 70's drummer, followed by Peart from Rush, then Moon.

  10. Bee Gees were the best metal band in the 70's..

  11. GG Allin is obviously is the best musician ever.

Seth Putnam is a close second with A.C. (abbreviated for Mods pleasure)

  12. Say what you want zeppelin is a great band but not the best band ever, u need to take in account r they still together which is no. They split up coz they lost there one true talent which was John n they couldn't continue on. The Who lost there great drummer but still yet there still rocking ass as the same band they were, poor Zep didn't do that. Metallica has accomplished the same things they have, ppl want to sound like them as the same for Zep but there still rocking together as the same band n have lost members. As much as I don't like The Rolling Stones(I hate them) they would have to be the greatest considering they are still original members from the 60's and are still out there rocking(granted you pay an arm n a leg to see them)but all in all it depends on what u like to listen to on what u think is the best, Hank Williams or Elvis could be the best in some one else's eyes or Glenn miller for that matter

I don't see how Rolling Stones playing Decades after they had any hint of popularity somehow makes them great. Sure they tour, but when Lef Zep did their two concert reunion it was a HUGE deal and they even got a successful movie out of it. Even Bill Clinton contacted them begging they do a reunion concert in the States as well. How many bands can claim that a former American president begged them to play?
