I'm of the other opinion. Dio Sabbath was the 2nd best Sabbath, only to be bettered by Rob Halford Sabbath. Which was godly for the 3 shows it happened for. Ozzy easily comes after them in the Sabbath tree.
I want what you are having DMC. Must be why DIOFEST and GAYFORDFEST are so successful you have to be off your rocker to think BS was better without ozzy bro. Ozzy forever the voice of the true darkness
A thread entitled Best Band Ever? includes Enter Shikari, Job for a Cowboy, Muse and Eminem? Even putting aside the incredible amount of subjectivity in such a question...good grief kaw, sort yourself the hell out.
Queen. Hard to find a band with so many stand alone songs from the same albums that still matter this many years after. Reasons: Bohemian rhapsody Killer queen Another one bites the dust We are the champions We will rock you Fahrenheit man Under pressure Bicycle race Song names count as reasons
Definitely Stone Sour, Slipknot, System, Atreyu, 5FDP.. Because words are just words until they are presented with passion. I wish I had a reason, my flaws are open season. For this I gave up trying, one good turn deserves my dying.
led Zep rules because of "the Shark Incident" for ppl who don't know what that is look it up on Wikipedia. Pure rock and roll.
Here's some of my favorites from different times and types.... CAKE (hands down the best across all for me) Pink Floyd Metallica Dead Kennedy's Pennywise Bad religion (I saw them at the country club in Reseda in the 80's) to date myself Nirvana Gorillas New order System of a Down Evanescence Steel Pulse Regina Spektor U2 Goldfinger (a shoutout to Ska)
Hey Frog.. Come over to the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle.. We can have a 'Frog Incident" And as we wind on down the road... Our shadows taller than our souls
Personally King Diamond was a better voice of darkness IMO. Don't get me wrong, I liked Ozzy but Dio is a better vocalist and the band progressed with him kind of like how Ritchie Blackmore progressed by leaving Deep Purple and starting Rainbow with Dio. Dio's ability to actually sing opened up the amount of variation for the rest of Black Sabbath. Also who cares if Rob Halford is gay. To deny he was one of the best metal frontmen ever would be simply wrong. His live shows kill almost anyone's and his bands have been amazing going on for almost 40 years.
I think Purple Haze is not only the first Heavy Metal song (1967! ).. But also pretty gay cos Jimi says "Excuse me, while I kiss this guy"
To all these Zep haters calling about stealing, it's best not to place 2010 standards on 60's bands. Everyone could be accused of stealing then. I also find this idea that stairway to heaven is a rip off of the spirit song Taurus to be laughable. And eight minutes long is a rip off of a two minute song? Let's get real. We all know why the estate of the deceased spirits estate brought in this lawsuit: money. Stairway to heaven is the most valuable song in the world having generated over $650 million of business. The band spirit themselves did nothing about it for 40 years, now their kids want to cash in after daddy is dead? Can you say Gold diggers? All because 4 notes at start sound similar. I hope a judge trashes this lawsuit quickly.
