Apple VS FBI

  1. We're rapidly headed in that direction anyways ...at this point it's unstoppable.

  2. Those who give up liberty for national security deserve neither

  3. I find it hard to believe the NSA or any other government entity can't hack an iPhone without Apples help. This is a ploy to get legislation implemented that would give them free reign to do what they're already capable of.
Do first, ask for permission later, that's always been the trend in government. They're doing this to set a precedent.

  4. Just words. I always wondred how come such a nonsense made history.

  5. In places like the US, yes. Alot of European countries the ppl have given reason for the government to listen.

For the ppl will rise to revolution if necessary.

  6. It's funny how our american fellows claim left and right how great USA is, how lame North Korea is. Yet their own government scare them more than anything else.

  7. Well said

  8. My freedom shouldn't be more important than someone's life. Not that I can see why I'm less free if FBI would peek on my phone in order to save more lives.

  9. It's not the FBI you should be concerned with. It's what happens when this power is abused, as it has been by oppressive regimes crushing dissent in countries like Egypt, China and Russia. If Apple says yes to the FBI, they'll have to say yes to oppressive governments as well. And then human rights activists across the globe will suffer as a result.

  10. Apple said "yes" over 70 times in the past. And the claim that Apple must create a backdoor in order to do this it's totally false. The backdoor exist already.

  11. I think if it does already exist, Apple will be in a very negative public light. But they're not. I haven't seen proof that the latest version of iOS has a back door. Have you?

  12.
  13. The back door isn't just something that you can see, it's hidden in encrypted coding

  14. Did you hear about McCafee offering to decrypt the phone for free?
The owner of McAfee said it would take 3 weeks.
Personally I believe this is a PR stunt which would also gain him favour with the authorities; as you may know he is running for President as a member of the Libertarian party.

  15. Right. But is there any proof that a back door exists in the latest version of iOS? I have seen none.

  16. Without that backdoor you wouldn't be able to get updates Cheese.

  17. I haven't. Do you have a link?

It does make sense that it's a PR stunt but a risky one considering Tim Cook essentially put him and his company's reputation on the line by openly rejecting the FBI's request and claiming that no back door exists.

Imagine what would happen to Apple if it was revealed that they were lying?

  18. Im not following you, bud.

  19. The idea is that you don't see it because it is hidden and you can't just stumble across it because it is encrypted so other people can't just come along and use it

  20. Yet, I'm sure he can do it. Heck...he even said he's going to eat a shoe if he can't make it. But his motivation is hypocrite. He just want to take the pressure of Apple :)))))
