A physics stump for me

  1. I'm not sure if people are acting stupid or are stupid, you learn this at GSCE level.

    Gravity = mass x acceleration.

Everything has a gravity field because everything has a mass, spinning around on the spot doesn't generate a pulling force. From the spec of dust to the sun. Our own planet was formed by floating bits of dust and rock, until it dragged itself together making it self bigger over time to what it is today.

Please look up what you're going to post because you may as well comment on how gold is found at the end of every rainbow, if you have no idea what you're talking about.

  2. No, matter what way you do this equation. The results will be undefined, anyway it's impossible to travel light speed anyway, a grain of sand could penetrate 19 feet of steel a light speed, anything could kill you at that speed

  3. Ha  don't stop me now Farr, I'm having too much of a good time

  4.
  5. Much has been corrected already but I haven't seen anything on the magneto sphere. There is still some mystery surrounding it, but the majority thought in science is that it is a product of rapidly conducting metalic liquids around the core of the earth.

Also, the northern lights is high energy particles getting through a weak point in the magneto sphere striking the atmosphere

  6. So, essentially what you are saying is; time is relative, and if you exceed the speed of everything else around you, your own reference frame becomes reality?

Therefore in nascar, the drivers actually "live longer" than us because their own reference frame, they remain at a closer average velocity to the speed of light than any normal person, yes?

    And F-1 even more so?

  7. yes, there is this F-16 pilot who flew a lot, some geeks calculated that he lives 2 seconds longer because of the high speed.

  8. I bet the g force has also reduced his life significantly too

  9. Im pretty sure  its like taxes. You pay a lot and get some tax return

  10. Speed of light isn't infinite, using a very brainy man's equations m=e/c2 you can work out the speed of light. It takes about 8 seconds for the light from the sun to reach earth.

Speed of light. - 670,616,629 miles per hour.

We can already fire atoms close to the speed of light, about 3 metres per second slower than the speed of light, using the hadron collider, so it is possible to get to the close and even reach the speed of light in years to come.

Time is equivalent to the speed at which one travels, so time in relation is proportional to how fast one is traveling.

@the person who tried to disprove my black hole answer.

Black holes have a infinite mass, with a unimaginable amount of pulling force. If you was to walk into one you'd be crushed. But for those who are looking at the black hole would see a still image of you effectively for then it appears that time has stopped for you.

There also has been talk of using black holes to bend time and it being able to travel back in time with the use of one.

  11. Anything with mass requires an infinite amount of energy to accelerate to the speed of light. More Speed is More Mass. Most theoretical ways of travelling large distances hinge on manipulation of gravuty/space etc, well beyond anything we can do at the moment. Give it a 1000 year or so.

  12. This is where physics are broken for me.

Isn't velocity also relative? What's to stop your surroundings from aging slower than you if you are moving extremely fast? Your surroundings are, after all, moving at the same speed relative to you that you are relative to it.

  13. Also how light actually can move faster than the speed of light. For example, if your car is moving at 60km/hour and your headlights are on, the light coming from your headlights are moving faster than the speed of light relative to the air around it.

Or how the opposite ends of the universe are moving faster than the speed of light away from each other.

  14. I feel like light is dependent upon whether or not it has alpha, beta, or gamma radiation alongside it, then adding a different charge to it. This physically wouldn't make a difference, as radiation wouldn't change mass (unless it was alpha), but chemistry wise this could be defined as such.

    Iunno, stuff is weird.

  15. Light has mass

  16. if you're spragga you live forever

  17. One side would go into an ice age and one side would be in total hell, sleep deprived cuz it's always light outside.

  18. Speed of light can't beat itself......and also think of it this way. If you achieve the speed of light, and something takes off from your ship and is going the speed of light. That "something" isn't going faster than you. Your both doing the speed of light.but the something will be ahead of you,but time will pass the same for both of you, and you will be doing the exact same speed

  19. We would all die if earth lost all motion cuz we would fall out of orbit from the sun

  20. If the earth stopped, gravity would cease. Causing people to float. Possibly into outer space and dying. If you can beat the speed of light, it means nothing. Just means you can move faster than light. Time will still pass.
