  1. Chapter 17

    Lailahs P.O.V.

Suddenly, I realised what we were doing.

Angrily, I shoved Blakes chest hard, and he tumbled off of me, and onto the floor.

"How dare you Blake!" I shouted at him. "How dare you!"

"Yeah, but you know you liked it." Came the reply from the smug smirk on his lips.

"Whatever," I huffed. "I'm going now, so…just…just leave me alone ok?" I told him. He neither nodded or shook his head. He just watched me. "Don't you dare follow me." I walked out of the oak door, slamming it behind me.

    ***

Outside, the wind was whistling, and the sky was shaded.

I hugged my jumper tight to me, searching for Nick.

Finally I saw him, but he had a face like thunder.

His eyebrows were set in a defiant scowl, his lips in a pout. His eyes were dark too, and were raging with unspoken emotions.

I jogged over to him. "Nick babe, what's wrong?" I genuinely was worried about him, he was never like this.

"Don't worry honey," he said, almost a little stiffly.

"Ok. Can I at least come with you though?"

    "Yeah of course."

I followed him into the main building, and I mean followed. I actually couldn't keep up with him.

He walked up to the reception desk, and instantly his face relaxed. "Hi, can I speak to Mr. Quinn?"

"No sorry, you can't, he's b…busy." She stuttered as Nick showed her a dazzling smile.

This time it was my turn to scowl.

"Sure, right this way." She began to walk off.

"Sorry Lailah, you know I only did that to trick her." With one finger, he lifted up my chin. "Okay?"

I begrudgingly nodded, and followed the lady towards the headmasters office.

"In here," she smiled at Nick, and them walked back to her desk.

"Mr. Quinn, can I come in? I've sighted something very strange yet important." Nick knocked on the big dark door.

"Yes, please do." And for once, he actually sounded remotely interested.

We both walked in, and I spent my spare time looking around the office.

    "What have you seen?"mm

"Sir, about five minutes ago, I saw Canadian Geese flying overhead. But leading them was an eagle." Nick said sullenly.

I watched, puzzled, as Mr. Winn drew in a sharp gasp.

    What was this about?

"That is very peculiar indeed. Well done Nick, well done for coming to me straight away."

    There was silence.

"Wait what does…" I stopped after Nick shot me a look that said 'I'll tell you later'.

"Hm…" Mr. Quinn thought deeply. "Nick, I want you to tell every single Morge to train. And tell them that they are required to take a sword and shield or bow and arrow from the stock cupboard, depending on their strongest weapon.
"Meanwhile, I will be in touch with other Morge schools. It seems like this fight is going to be very grand." Now I was scared. "It's very strange. Normally, they send purple lightning or even an earthquake. But never the geese and eagle. Thank you." He looked down at his desk in an obvious dismissal.

Once Nick and I were out, I cornered him.

"Why is this so important? What do geese and an eagle mean? What are you even talking about? Who are we fighting against? Will us two be fighting? And," I added in a tiny voice, "why did this happen to me?"

"Hey listen," he said softly, "don't worry. I'm not sure whether you will need to fight or not."

"But…" I didn't get to finish my sentence. I collapsed, exhausted, into Nicks arms.

    ***

I woke up in my bed, with a strong arm under and around my waist.

I looked over to see Nicks sleeping face, and smiled slightly.

How did one girl ever get so lucky, to have a boyfriend like Nick?

I decided to get up, and get dressed.

I eased myself away from him, and began to get up, not wanting to wake him.

"And where do you think you're going?" I looked around to see a very sexy Nick smirking, and propped up on one arm.

"Uh," I smiled sheepishly. "I guess I was going to get dressed, and I didn't want to wake you."

I laid back down, and snuggled into Nicks chest.

"Hey about the fight." I couldn't get this question out of my mind.

"Mhmm?" He played with a bit of my hair.

    "When is it?"

"Tonight." My breath caught in my throat. That soon?

"Okayyy…and who exactly are we fighting against?"

    "Angels and demons."

  2. Chapter 18

    Lailahs P.O.V.

I stood with shaking legs, the Morges around me in their hundreds doing the same.

I surveyed them, and it really was a truly amazing sight.

The archers stood in straight lines on the cliffs, arrows knocked in their bows, poised and ready to shoot. On the ground, everyone had a sword and shield.

Earlier today, Nick had to quickly train me to use a sword and shield, as I didn't have a clue.

Thunderstorms revolved around in the sky above us, the lightning prominent, yet there was no rain.

The sun had set long ago, the only light was the eerie glow that the clouds seemed to give off.

Suddenly, the hugest crash resounded in our ears from the clouds.

    And then they came.

Shining brilliant angels in all their glory. They were human size, but their wing span across must've reached at least three times their height, and they were either dazzling White, or a baby pink. Some had wings like butterflies, others long elegant ones that reached up into the sky.

The demons were behind them, yet there was no reason for them to be. They weren't shining like the angels, but held an aura of glory around them. Their wings were just as huge as the angels, but they were a mix of reds, blacks and golds. Their wings were like birds.

But both races were all utterly gorgeous. The ladies were beautiful, and the men were dazzling.

"On guard!" A leader shouted from the front as the angels and demons advanced.

The Morges all shifted their stance, so that one foot was in front of the other, and they leant forward, their weapons raised and their eyes alert.

A bolt of blue lightning struck the ground.

    That's when chaos began.

I frantically looked around for Nick, and caught one last sight of him, before he disappeared into the mob.

I took a deep breath and braced myself, before running into the battle, with my weapon raised.

    ***

    Blakes P.O.V.

'She better come back with no more than a scratch on her,' I thought, as I dodged and weaves through the battle.

I was going to find the main leader of the opposing team. I was one of the most experienced fighters out of all of the Morges there, even the adults.

I think I could handle it.

Pretty soon, I saw one of the biggest demons. I looked around to see Nick heading for it too.

We briefly nodded at each other, before sprinting full on at the creature.

Although angels and demons were only human size, they had super strength, therefore their numbers were only about half of ours.

But they still had a pretty good chance of winning.

There were some archers on the hill that saw where we were, and one of them nodded to me once, basically saying that him and a couple of others would help Nick and I.

As much as I despised Nick, I really did need his help with this one.

Just as we reached it, the demon turned to face us, but then flew up into the air, and Nick shared a worried glance with me.

The demon had the advantage, even though there were two of us, he could go airborne.

The archers began shooting at the demons wings, and it roared in anger and pain.

I took out my own bow and began to shoot in different parts of it's legs.

Soon, it fell down to the ground, but it immediately picked itself back up.

    It wasn't done yet.

I threw Nick my bow and arrows, and gripped my sword tightly.

"Keep shooting it while I go round the back!" I shouted at him over the noise.

He nodded, and began to shoot the demon is different parts. His foot, his leg, his arm, anywhere the arrows could reach.

I sneaked up to the back of the creature, and without any delay, I thrust my sword deep into it's chest.

A few seconds later, it fell to the floor, dead.

I went to go and shake hands with Nick, but then stopped, as it might be awkward.

He obviously thought the same thing.

In the end, we both made up our minds.

We walked forward, and shook hands, before heading off to go and take care of some more creatures.

    ***

    Lailahs P.O.V.

    I smiled gently.

I had been watching Nick and Blake fight that massive demon. They were amazing.

But the thing that really got me happy was how they shook hands at the end.

I went to fight another imbecile.

    ***

Pretty soon, I had taken down 2 more, making a grand total of 7!

I was actually pretty proud of myself! I had only just learnt to use a sword and shield today!

I walked around, and soon I came face to face with one of the biggest angels I had ever seen.

It was about 7 foot tall. A bit taller than possible for human height.

She looked down on me in disgust, as if I was a bit of dirt.

"Bring it on," I muttered and flickered my eyes closed.

About five seconds later, I reopened them, and began to bring up my Majistræ.

I felt my skin prickling, and I focused on her magnificent wings.

Soon, my skin was White, and it almost looked like feathers. I was surprised, because this time, my clothes turned that colour too.

'The armour must be modified to let the wearer use their Majistræ', I decided.

I saw the angels eyes widen, she could see my now, but she wouldn't soon.

I dodged on one foot to the other, tricking and annoying her.

Then I darted round to her back, and leaped onto one of her huge wings, and sat about half-way on them.

I then took out my sword, and began to frantically stab at the flesh at the top, so she would feel pain.

I don't know why I did it. I just did.

She screamed and thrashed in agony, desperately trying to shake me off.

But I wasn't giving up yet.

    Hell no.

I then slid down her wings, jumped to the floor, and then hoisted myself up onto the other and proceeded to do the same.

Finally, when her voice was hoarse, my only option was to get down at the front where she would see me.

I quickly made my skin have the appearance of grass, and then slid down to the ground.

She looked around for me, but she couldn't see me, as my skin blended in.

Finally, her eyes zeroed in on me.

I brought forward the water from the clouds, and formed a huge tornado of water around me.

I could see through the water that many had stopped and stared, even the angels and demons.

The female I was fighting at that time screamed in frustration, and constantly tore at the water again and again with blue lightning. My face was fixed in a grimace as I reflected hit after hit.

She tried to blow the water away with her wings, and she tried to just shoot an arrow through the water so it would hit me.

    "NOW!" I shouted.

All of the Morges suddenly caught their enemies by surprise by stabbing them, or shooting an arrow through their heart, or beheading them, or any other gruesome way of killing them.

And for once, the Morges had the upper hand.

I sent the water rushing other to the angel, and it enveloped her.

The water knocked her over with the speed and force of it.

She lay flat on her back, and I thrust my sword through her heart before she could do anything to stop me.

Just as I turned around, I screamed.

    <><><><><><><><>

    PLEASE FEEDBACK!

And why do you think that Lailah screamed?

    Dun dun dahh!

  3. Chapter 19

Someone clamped a hand over my mouth, and dragged me away into the trees.

I thrashed and twisted and writhed, but nothing could get me out of this vice-like grip.

Soon, the person stopped, so I did too.

I whipped around to look at them, but the person chuckled. It was a low chuckle, so I assumed my kidnapper was a man.

"Oh Lailah, Lailah," the man murmured. Yes, it was definitely a man.

"Who…who are you?" I choked out. My stomach was churning, and I felt sick to the core. My mouth was dry, and my hands were aching, but not because of my Majistræ.

No, they were aching from fear.

I felt something cool put pressure on my throat. "Now, I couldn't tell you that could I?"

I gulped nervously, and decided not to say anything.

He pressed harder, and I finally thought of how to talk him out of killing me.

"Well, if you're going to kill me, then you won't be able to use me will you?"

"Brad hadn't mentioned that…" the guy muttered.

'Brad! Okay, Lailah you gotta remember the name Brad!'

"Oh crap." He said. "Did I just say that out loud?"

I decided to play dumb. "Say what?"

"Say that I work for someone called Brad."

    "No, I didn't hear that."

"Oh good." Wow, this guy is THICK. "Hang on, I just said it again. We can't have you knowing can we?" He pressed the sharp edge of the knife into my throat, and I felt blood trickling down my neck, as salty water began dripping down my face.

'All the people I can't say goodbye to! Nick, Blake, mum and dad, Blaze, Cassie and so many others…'

I could see out of the corner of my eyes that my soon-to-be-murderers eyes glinted maliciously.

"It's a shame to ruin such a pretty face. But these things happen." He sighed dramatically.

Just as I said my prayers, I heard bushes rustling.

My head snapped up, as did the mans.

There stood Blake, and couldn't be happier to see him.

    ***

    Blakes P.O.V.

I looked in horror at Lailahs neck.

There were at least five trails of blood running down her neck.

I growled low in my throat.

No one did that to my farthen.

I lunged for her capturer, and knocked him down to the ground. As he fell, he pulled Lailah down with him, but at least the dagger was away from his throat.

Lailah cried out as she contacted with the dried mud, her face contorted into an expression of pain and surprise, and a bit of horror.

I hauled the guy up off of Lailah, and got him to his feet.

Then I punched him, and successfully knocked him out, causing him to fall to the ground.

I ran over to Lailah, and worriedly looked at her neck.

"Are you ok?" There was a huge gash on her neck, blood still dripping from it. I was surprised he didn't kill her.

"Yeah," she breathed, trying to conceal her pain.

I smoothed her hair out of her face. "No you're not. What hurts?"

She grimaced, and motioned towards her leg. "I don't know which bone, but I think that guy managed to break a part of my leg as he fell down.

"I'm sorry," I murmured. "Come on, I'll get you to the nurse. The fight is nearly over. You did really well, how you distracted all of the enemies like that was amazing. It really helped." I scooped her up in my arms so that I was holding her like a prince would with a princess, and leaned down.

Then I realised what I was doing, and straightened up again.

I began to walk with her in my arms, where she should be.

    ***

    Lailahs P.O.V.

I didn't really know what to think.

    1. I nearly got killed.

    2. My leg was broken.

    3. Blake had saved me.

    4. Blake was carrying me.

So many thoughts were rotating around in my head. My leg throbbed painfully with every step Blake took, and my neck stung really bad.

But I grit my teeth, and concentrated on not crying. If it was Nick carrying me, I might have cried. But this was Blake we were talking about here. I wasn't gonna break down any time soon.

"Lailah!" I heard my voice being yelled.

I whipped my head around, trying to find the owner of the voice.

When I finally located him, I smiled in relief.

    Nick was running towards me.

One minute Blake was carrying my, the next I was in Nicks arms.

"What happened to you?" He all but shouted, obviously worried about me.

I closed my eyes, and rested my head in the crook of his neck.

"You don't want to know. Can I go to the nurse, and I'll tell you there."

    "Sure baby."

Nick began walking, and I looked around for Blake. I could see him looking at us.

I arched my eyebrows and tilted my head, trying to tell him that he could come.

He smiled gratefully, and ran to catch up with us.

    "Hey why is he…"

"Not now Nick, please." I begged him. I dint exactly want Blake to come, but he did rescue me, and he looked kinda pathetic just standing there.

I closed my eyes, and the last thing I heard was: "Anything for you hunny."

    <><><><><><><><><><><>

Sorry it's kinda short. Well, short as in short for me lol. I bet none of ya were expecting that, huh?

  4. Chapter 20

    Lailahs P.O.V.

I woke up in a dimly lit room.

'I've been in this room too many times,' I sighed. 'I've got to take better care of myself.'

I heard heels clicking on the floor, and spotted Miss Childs advancing towards me.

Miss Childs was the…almost like the school nurse. She was kind and thoughtful, but extremely pretty.

Many guys faked they had a migraine, just so that they could chat her up. She was about nineteen or twenty, so in their range.

"Hello Lailah," she said politely, smiling at me. "Are you feeling any better?"

"Yeah thanks, loads." I realised how common I sounded then, compared to her perfect-but-not-over-the-top pronunciation.

"That's good. Do you want to see Blake?" That surprised me.

    "I guess," I half-mumbled.

"Okay cool," that seemed to brighten her mood, if possible. "Is he your partner?" She wiggled her eyebrows, making me laugh.

"No…kind of. I've got a different boyfriend, but…I don't know. There's just some sort of connection between Blake and I, although I don't know what." I did know, we were farthens. But he had made it clear that no one could know.

"Hm…" she suddenly snapped out of her daze.

"Oh, look at me! Wasting time! I have to get back to the other patients. I'll send in Blake for you." She walked out briskly, and I chuckled slightly. How could one person be so bubbly and happy all of the time? Insane.

A couple of minutes later, Blake strolled in, and sat on the chair next to my bed. "Hey, how are you feeling?" He asked in a surprisingly gentle and compassionate tone.

"I'm okay thanks." I smiled at him. "My leg hurts a bit, and so does my neck, and I'm still a little shaken. But overall, it's all good."

He sat still for a moment, staring at my bed sheets, obviously deep in thought. Then he spoke.

"Lailah, you will never have any idea of how scared I was when I saw you with that guy. Scared for you. Scared that you would get hurt." He paused for a moment. "Scared that I would lose you." He whispered the last sentence, and looked up to my face.

I took one of his hands, and gripped it in my own tightly. "You won't ever lose me." I whispered in the same tone, and stared into his grey eyes with my own brown ones. His hands touch shot tendrils of heat flying through my body.

He smiled slightly, and closed his eyes, leaning his head on our entwined hands.

"What would I do without you?" He joked. "I think I would have probably jumped off a cliff by now, with all this stress. Then again, you're the one who's causing the stress." He hauled his head up. "Ugh, it's a lose-lose situation." I giggled, Blake could be so cute at times.

"You know," I randomly thought out loud, "this is practically the first conversation where we haven't ended up arguing."

"Mmm, and let's keep it that way." He whispered. Wow, I liked this side of Blake.

Just as we locked gazes again, we heard footsteps outside the separator curtains.

I looked down, and untangled my hands from his.

It was just in time, as in walked Nick.

He came straight over to me, and took hold of me in his strong arms.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and closed my eyes.

When we finally broke apart, Nick held my shoulders and looked straight into my eyes.

"Are you okay?" He took one hand away to gently trace the scar on my neck with his thumb. It didn't hurt, it actually soothed in a strange way.

"Yeah I'm fine." I smiled reassuringly at him, although my leg was hurting like there was no tomorrow. I just didn't want to tell him.

"Okay babe." He took me in for another hug. I melted into his arms, even though they were like ice.

    ***

    ~Five days later~

    Finally, I was allowed out.

I finally reached my dorm. I was in crutches, because my leg was broken, but when I got there, it was about 9 'o' clock in the evening.

I couldn't stop thinking about Nick, and his touch.

This was not good. I shouldn't be obsessing over a guy like this.

Which is why I did the only thing I could think of.

    I grabbed my phone.

    ***

I woke up in the morning, in someones arms.

But I realised that my cell phone had woken me.

I sat up, grabbed my crutches, and rushed over to my iPhone.

    "Hello?"

"Hey Lailah, I'm coming to your dorm so I can take you to class okay?"

    "Wait, but…"

"No buts, I'll see you in about five minutes okay?" He cut off.

I turned to the naked boy in my bed. He was smirking, and bad himself propped up on one elbow.

"Blake, you have to leave. Now."

    ***

Minutes later, both Blake and I were dressed.

I was furious at myself for letting something happen.

Before Blake left, I cornered him.

"Last night never happened. Got that?" I semi-hissed at him.

He seemed a bit scared. "Uh sure."

"Good. Now go." He left quickly.

Once the door was closed, I leant on it, and closed my eyes. I always knew I was a slût, but this had never happened before.

I had never two-timed a guy who was my boyfriend. Normally it was just using guys.

    I sighed.

    I was so screwed.

  5. Chapter 21

    Lailahs P.O.V.

About two minutes later, Nick arrived, and together we headed for class.

First period for me was Chemistry, so I said goodbye to him, and walked to room 284 (with the help of a map).

As I arrived, my heart slowly sunk.

The only girl in the class was Brittany.

    But then my mood brightened.

I was gonna so make a fool of her.

I sat down just in time, because a man walked in.

I slowly scanned him. He was wearing track-suit bottoms, and a VERY tight t-shirt.

As I looked up to his face, I almost sighed. He was so good looking. He had brown shaggy hair, and piercing electric blue eyes.

They locked onto mine for a moment, before he looked away.

"Class, it seems we have a new student with us today. Her name is Lailah Pierce." He beckoned for me to come to the front of the class.

All of the guys shifted expectantly in their seats. How lame. I just about managed to not roll my eyes.

"Yeah so, I'm Lailah Pierce. No nicknames. Um…I come from Phoenix…Uh I got chucked out of," I paused to count. "I got chucked out of five schools. You can ask me for the reasons later. I like keeping fit, my ps3 and pasta." I remembered Brittany. "I don't like tomatoes, being cold, or peroxide bottles who go by the name of Brittany." I finished by smiling sweetly at her.

All of the guys erupted into laughter. Even the teacher chuckled a bit.

When it had all died down, one guy shouted out a question. "Are you single?"

This caused me to smirk my famous player smirk. "You'll have to wait and see." I went back to my seat, and excited murmuring began.

"Ok quieten down, please." The teacher called out. "Now, I'm new here too. My name is Mr. Breech. There are a few ground rules. First…" and he went on about his 'expectations'. By the second rule, I had already zoned out, and stared at the lab equipment.

I couldn't stop thinking about last night. Whether it was in a good or bad way, I wasn't quite sure.

He finished quicker than I thought he would.

I realised once he had finished that, the whole time, the guy sitting next to me had been staring down my top.

"See something you like?" I leaned and over and breathed into his ear.

He stiffened, and I leaned back, smirking slightly.

"Is anything the matter Lailah?" Mr. Breech called out.

"Crap," I quickly muttered, and then turned on my charm. "No nothing Mr. Breech. Why would you think that?" I smiled at him.

He seemed to fall for it. "Oh no…no reason." Mr. Breech turned back to the class.

"Poor guy," I heard someone whisper. "He could never argue with her." I smiled triumphantly. I already had all the boys in here, including Mr. Breech, wrapped around my little finger.

"Now I need you to get into pairs. Lailah, as you're new, would you like to come up, and pick your partner first?"

"Sure!" I fixed a permanent guy-melter expression on my face, and walked to the front yet again.

"Hmm," I looked at all of the pleading faces. "Not you," I pointed at Brittany. "Or you," I pointed at the pervert who had been sitting next to me.

I looked around again. "You." I pointed to a cute guy.

I looked at Mr. Breech for permission, and he nodded. "Yep, go ahead."

I heard sighs of disappointment, and people muttering 'he's so lucky'. Yeah yeah, I've heard it all before.

I strode over to the hottie, and sat down next to him, but not without giving him a little wink first.

At last, I was actually looking forwards to someone even remotely associated with academics.

    This was gonna be fun.

    ***

    Blakes P.O.V.

Last night had been amazing. Lailah may say it never happened, but I knew she secretly couldn't stop thinking about it.

She had loved every second of it, that was for sure.

I got to my class late, and slumped down into my usual seat.

"Mr. Stang, why are you late? You know it is a detention slip for tardiness!"

"Whatever," I muttered. I really couldn't care less, but I glared at him for good measure.

"Just…just don't do it again." I smirked. It was hilarious how they were all terrified of me.

I looked to the side and saw that hot girl peeking at me. I had sat next to her for…four months now? I should kinda know her name.

    Oh yeah. Shawna.

I leaned over and whispered huskily in her ear. "Hey babe."

She stiffened slightly. I smiled, and began to blow into her ear, before biting on her earlobe gently.

Just as the teacher turned around, I pulled away. I couldn't be bothered to listen to his ranting, so I just avoided it by being 'good'. Well, while he was looking anyway.

He talked to us for about ten minutes, and then we were allowed to start our work.

I continued to play with her, and saw Tessa, Lailahs friend, watching me.

Oh shît! She's gonna tell Lailah!

I thought for a moment, and then mentally shrugged.

    See if I care.

I began to trail little kisses down her neck, and she giggled. "Blaaake, stop! We need to start this!"

I growled playfully. "Who gives a damn?"

    "I do."

    I grumbled a bit. "Fine."

    ~One hour later~

Class had finally ended. Thank God for that.

I all but ran out of the classroom.

I stood behind one of the marble pillars.

When I spotted Shawna, I grabbed her, but gently, and pulled her onto the other side of it, so she could stand with me. I was pressing her up against the cool stone.

"What the hell Blake?" She half-whispered, half-laughed.

"I'm sorry, I just can't help myself." I plastered on a straight face, and leaned down to kiss her.

About a second after our lips met, she arched her back, so her chest and stomach were firmly pressed against mine.

I placed my hands on her hips, just as she twined hers round my neck.

I had to admit, she was a great kisser.

I bit her lip gently, causing her to moan, and she opened her mouth, granting me entry.

    Soon, we pulled away.

"What about class?" She said, her wide eyes filled with worry. Her bright blonde hair was astray, and a couple of bits were in her face.

"Shh," I replied in a sooting tone, brushing away all of the pieces of hair, and then caressing her cheek. "Don't worry. If you're with me, then nothing will happen."

"Are you sure?" She searched my face for any sings of lying.

    "Yeah, don't worry."

"But…" I brought my lips back down, successfully silencing her.

I pulled away. "Cmon," I whispered, taking her hand.

I led her to the janitors closet.

She giggled. "Seriously? This is so cliché."

"I know." I smiled as I pulled the door shut.

I wrapped my arms back around her waist, and pulled her lips back to mine.

Slowly, I inched my hand up her mini-skirt.

When I had reached the top, I hooked my fingers around the strings of her thong.

    And smirked.

This was the first time that I was going to do the dirty in a janitors closet.

    Lailahs P.O.V.

"Lailah, Lailah!" I heard my voice being shouted out.

I was just transferring to my next lesson.

I looked around to see Tessa running towards me.

    "What, what?" I joked.

    "You'd never guess what!"

"Tessa just say it." I laughed.

"Blake was, um…how do I put this? Kind of more than flirting with a girl in my class."

My heart stopped, but seemed to redeem itself quickly. "Thanks for telling me Tessa, but I'm totally over him now."

"Ok it's cool! I thought I should just tell you."

I said goodbye, and then walked towards my next class.

Before I heard a gun shot.

    <><><><><><><><><>

I was gonna add some explicit scenes in with Blakes part, but I decided not to. Especially as there are some kids on here.

  8. Chapter 22

    Lailahs P.O.V.

I whipped around, and about fifteen steps behind me, a girl my age was screaming and shaking, her back arched in agony on the concrete.

I quickly went over to her, well, as quickly as I could with crutches. People shouted and screamed, one boy was talking hurriedly to, I guessed, 911.

The girl writhed and her eyes rolled, so I gripped her hand, and held on tight.

Her eyes latched onto mine, before she looked away, bucking with the pain.

She still screamed, more and more people came to look, yet wished they hadn't.

About five minutes later, an ambulance arrived.

By then, she had stopped screaming, and was about to close her eyes. I could tell.

"No!" I shouted. "Stay awake!" I slapped her cheeks, waking her up again.

Then the paramedics came, and I got out of their way.

I suddenly felt nauseous. I had tried to ignore the blood, I really had, but it just got to me.

I quickly made my way back to my room, and collapsed on my bed, closing my eyes.

Then I sat up as quick as lighting.

I needed to check that girl was ok.

    ***

Soon, I was in a taxi, and on my way to the local hospital.

Nick was sitting in the back of the car with me, and I rested my head on his shoulder.

I laughed slightly. "Why is it always me? First I'm champion at fighting, next I have to defeat angels and demons, then I get kidnapped - kind of -, which results in my leg being broken and my neck slit open. Then I got to a hospital to see someone who has been shot."

Nick chuckled, and smoothed my hair back from my face. "It's not you. Some people are just unlucky."

"Gee, thanks." I muttered, already in a sour mood.

"Sorry babe, you know I didn't mean it like that!"

"Whatever." I scowled, but we both knew, deep down, I wasn't really angry.

A couple of minutes later, the cab driver spoke, and the car stopped. "Sir, miss, we are at your destination, Hartsworth Hospital." Nick paid him, and we got out of the taxi, my knees shaking.

I hobbled in on my crutches, Nick ready to catch me if I fall.

Soon, we were inside, and standing at the desk.

"Hello, a girl was submitted to this hospital today. She was brought here from Sais Boarding School, and she has a bullet wound. Unfortunately, we don't know her name." Nick explained the situation.

"Hmmm…I think I know who you mean!" The receptionist exclaimed, occasionally tapping on her keyboard.

"That's great, but could we see her soon? Like, now?"

"No I'm sorry, she is not in a stable condition, but you may sit outside her room." She gave us directions, and soon Nick and I were walking briskly towards the ward where the girl was.

We reached the room just as a doctor came out.

He guessed why we were there. "She will be ready to see in about thirty minutes, if you'd like to take a seat." He scurried off down the corridor as we both sat down.

There was a moment of silence.

"Do you know how much that girl looks like you?" Nick asked randomly.

I shook my head. "No, I guess I didn't really notice."

"Yeah, she could easily be a relative or twin sister or something."

Now that I thought about it, she did have the same strange combination of brown eyes and blonde hair. She was short like me, and looked about the same weight. "I suppose she does actually." I thought out-loud. "I just really want to know how she is."

Nick put his arm around my shoulders, and then I took it as my cue to put my head on his shoulder.

About twenty minutes later, a busy looking doctor strode out of the room. "She's ready for visitors now." As he said it, he slid a name tag into the holder on the door.

Just before I went in, I memorised the name.

    Sam Hassa.

What I saw before me was shocking.

I thin and frail girl lay on a bed, in hospital gowns. Her hair was colourless, her face drained and her skin pale. Her eyes looked weak, like she was fighting to keep them open. Needles stuck out of her everywhere, and she had an oxygen mask on her face. Her face was sweaty, and she had a huge hole in her bed sheets, where they had operated to get the bullet out, yet the hospital gown was covering her skin.

I trod lightly, and walked to a chair next to the bed, before pulling it up, and sitting on it.

"Sam? Can you hear me?" I said softly, careful not to startle her.

Nick stood near the door, not wanting to interfere.

Her eyes flew open, and all the weakness seemed to disappear. She was obviously a happy girl. "Are you the girl who saved me?"

I smiled slightly. "Not quite, but I did hold your hand until the medics came. How do you feel?" I wasn't asking her too many questions yet.

"Good and not good at the same time. Happy I'm alive, yet my stomach hurts, where I guess the bullet went, my head hurts - I probably hit it on the floor - and all these needles sting." She seemed to be moderately bubbly and happy for someone who was shot.

"Oh ok." I was thinking over what Nick had said. "Do you know why someone would want to sho…why someone would want to harm you?"

Her face fell the tiniest bit. "I've been thinking about that. Your name is Lailah, right?" I nodded. "Well, the other day, I was walking past the headmasters office. I could hear his voice, and someone elses too." I listened intently, my eyes narrowing. I could see where this was going. "I heard the headmaster say, 'But Brad,'. The other man then said, 'You have no choice. I expect the job to be done. Lailah Pierce is a threat.'" I gasped, and looked at Nick. His eyes had darkened dramatically. "By then, I had walked on. Lailah, I think that whoever shot me thought I was you. Face it, we could be twins. We look so much like each other, unless we knew someone personally, they could easily get us mixed up." I was starting to feel a little light-headed. It was lucky that I was sitting down.

"I'm sorry that you had to go through this," I gestured around the small room, "just for me. I would never wish this on anybody."

"Don't mention it." Her speaking started to slow. "Guys, if you don't mind, I'm pretty tired."

We took it as a hint. "Oh yeah, sure!" I exclaimed, and stood up to go out.

But before I walked out, I bent over her bed. "I'm so sorry." I said quietly, and then walked out of the room, Nick by my side.

We quickly got out of the hospital, and sat in his car.

"I can't believe it could've been you in there Lailah." Nick whispered.

"Neither can I." I whispered back.

Just as Nick turned on the engine, I closed my eyes, and leant my head back.

Sorry it's so short, won't have next post until Saturday now!!! Sorry!!

  9. Chapter 23

    ~Five days later~

I stared in disbelief at the letter in my hands.

My aunt and her boyfriend were getting married.

I didn't even know she HAD a boyfriend!

I was invited too! My dad had been so annoyed at me all those days ago, and then he actually agreed to let me attend!

I wouldn't take Nick with me. It was too risky.

I put the invitation on the desk in my bedroom, and headed for the shower.

    ***

Soon enough, I was pristine, clean, and ready to go.

I confidently strutted out of my dorm, and into the warm corridor.

Eventually, I made it to my Chemistry lesson room.

I was one of the last there, and class had already started.

"Lailah, why are you late?" Mr. Breech inquired.

I quickly glanced at the clock on the wall.

'Crap, I'm ten minutes late!' I realised, panicking. This school was my last chance. If I get expelled from here too, what will my parents do with me?

"Whatever," I muttered. I may be in the doghouse, but I wasn't going to be Little Miss Nerdy. Not in front of all these boys. I needed a reputation.

I glared at him before I started to walk over to my seat.

The cure guy who was my partner smirked at me.

Mr. Breech didn't say anything more, though he kept a close eye on me throughout the lesson.

All we really did was identifying different chemicals and the scientific terms for them.

The lesson dragged on and on. As soon as the bell rang, I was out of there.

I was excited because my next period was P.E.

I loved P.E. One of the few things I actually excelled in.

I was one of the first changed, and went to wait in the hall.

Then I remembered my leg, and cursed everything under the sun. I would never be able to run with a broken leg!

I looked down to examine it. Because it was a minor break I got rid of my crutches fairly quickly.

I stretched, flexed, and even tensed my leg, however nothing seemed to make it hurt.

    I suddenly had a brainwave.

'I bet that it's something to do with being a Morge.' I finalised that I would ask Nick later.

Soon, the other students started to filter in.

I found out that all lessons at Sais Boarding School were mixed gender, even P.E.!

I did some stretches, and examined all of the people who were joining me.

I was in the top P.E. group, so it wasn't really a surprise that most of the class were the 'cool' people. It's harsh and mean, I know, but you just have to be sporty to be 'cool'.

Warming up done, I rolled on the balls of my feet for a bit, and then sat down on the bench, waiting for the teacher to come in.

As I turned around, I half smiled, half grimaced.

Because I realised that my P.E. teacher was Mr. Breech.

"Okay, settle down everyone," he called out above the noise.

Nobody heard him, so he blew his whistle hard.

All of the boys and girls went quiet, and turned around to stare at him.

"Thank you," he said sarcastically, making everyone smile a bit. "Now, because it is the beginning of the year, and your first Physical Education lesson, we will begin with running, so I can get an idea of this classes average ability. We will all be heading out to the running tracks soon. But firstly, has anyone got spikes on their shoes. They are excellent for running, but could seriously injure someone."

Everyone was quiet, waiting for someone to speak.

I rolled my eyes. Because we are really going to have spikes in a normal P.E. lesson, aren't we?

"Okay good…well, let's head outside then.

As we all walked down, I felt a hand snake around my waist. I made a move to smack it off, but then I realised that it was Nick.

    "Hey babe," I said, smiling.

"Hey," he replied. "Did you know that you completely pull off that uniform?"

    Unfortunately, I blushed.

'Jeez, what is WRONG with me?' I wondered.

"No, but I know that you do," I shot back. I know it was cheesy, but it was a one-minute kind of thing. I think I'm losing my players edge.

He chuckled a bit, and we continued to walk down to the running tracks.

Soon enough, we reached the fields, and the class came to a halt.

"First, we will have the girls. Taylor, Phoebe, Brittany, Tiffany, Jazmine, Lailah, Lili and Abbie. You first, please."

We all lined up on the tracks. I eyed the girls. From what I knew, only three of them were Morges. Brittany, Tiffany and Lili.

This should be easy! I was always the fastest at my previous schools, so why shouldn't I be here?

"On your marks," Mr. Breech called. I bent over.

"Get set," I positioned my foot just behind the line.

He blew the whistle, and off we went.

I knew I was in front, but I didn't dare to look behind me. It would just create more air resistance.

We were about half way down, and I felt someone was quite close to me.

I pushed myself harder and harder, never stopping. When you enjoy sprinting, and are good at it, you will know the feeling. When you are at your absolute fastest, and the wind is whipping against your face.

The footsteps then came closer again.

I ran faster and faster, never doubting myself for a second.

In seconds, I was over the finish line.

I had to carry on for a little while longer, slowly winding down. You could seriously pull the muscles in your legs if you stop basically straight away.

I turned around, and saw Nick smiling at me broadly.

I grinned right back, and began to head back to Mr. Breech.

When I reached him, he looked quite stunned.

"That was amazing!" He laughed. "I'll have to tell Coach Givia about your ability!" I smiled at him, and then walked back over to where the rest of the class were.

I could see some of the guys watching me, so I walked straight over to Nick, and smiled up at him.

He enveloped me in a hug, and I breathed in his scent.

"You were amazing honey," he whispered into my ear.

"Thanks, but I can't wait to see you." I pulled away and winked at him, then laid down on the soft grass, relaxing my tensed muscles and studying the few clouds.

I watched the other races too.

As I had expected, Blake was in this class too. And also as I had expected, he won his sprint race.

Then it was time for the long distance. I guessed this was where Nick excelled, as he hadn't taken part in any sprint races.

"Again, first up, the girls. Taylor, Phoebe, Brittany, Tiffany, Jazmine, Lailah, Lili and Abbie."

We all went and stood on a different track.

    "On your marks."

    "Get set."

Mr. Breech blew the whistle, and we all started off quite slow.

By about three quarters, I was halfway.

Time to crank it up a bit!

I sped up a bit, so that I was second.

That's how the race ended, but with shifting behind me.

I was quite pleased with myself. I lost to the girl called Phoebe, but she had long legs, and you could tell she was an all rounder in sport like me.

I settled down, watched the other girls race, and then stood up for Nicks race.

They all started, and you could see Nick was good.

Within the first three minutes, he was already leading by…basically he was at the front.

The race ended pretty quickly, and Nick was the clear winner.

Throughout it, I couldn't help but spot Blake sneaking a couple of glances at me.

However, I tried my best to ignore him, and cheer on Nick. Blake was obviously…not very good at long distance.

"Well done!" I all but shouted when I saw Nick advancing towards me. "You were amazing! Literally!"

"Thanks," Nick smiled weakly, and made contact with the floor.

I sat down with him, snuggling up close, trying to forget about the worries of the world.

    Chapter 24

    Lailahs P.O.V.

All of the girls at my lunch table squealed in excitement, while the boys idly chatted.

It had been announced today to Year/Grade Ten that there was going to be a Thanksgiving Prom.

Even though most of the cheerleading squad hated me, I was still welcome at the 'in' lunch table.

I was mostly talking to the guys. I couldn't be bothered with the girls annoying screeching.

I already knew what dresses I had, what shoes to wear and what make-up to layer on.

So what was the point of gushing about it? The prom was next Friday, and it was Monday now. I could only cope with so much girly enthusing.

But even I was excited a teensy bit.

Because it was a Masquerade Ball.

    ~Eleven and a half days later~

I grinned at myself in the mirror.

I had to admit; I looked great.

My dress was a tiny black-number - it came down to about mid-thigh - but with sequins lining the bottom rim of it. I was wearing black stilettos, but with a red heel, because they were designer, and my favourites. I was also wearing make-up, but not too heavily.

But my mask was the best part. It was absolutely beautiful. On the ridge for the nose, there were two black feathers, and then one red in the middle. All throughout it, the mask was encrusted with sequins and diamonds. It gave the overall effect of a feline, sexy and mysterious.

I picked up my Gucci clutch bag, and hovered outside my room, waiting for Nick.

Finally I saw him advancing towards me.

He looked amazing, wearing a black suit, with a red bow tie, and slightly spiked hair. In his hand, he held a mostly plain, black mask.

His face bore a broad smile as he looked at me, and then quickened his pace.

When he reached me, Nick placed his hands on my waist, and kissed me until I was breathless.

"You look gorgeous," he whispered in my ear.

I smiled a bit. "You don't look too bad yourself."

He grabbed my hand, and we began to walk down the corridor, ice spreading though each and every one of my veins.

    Blakes P.O.V.

I walked into the hall with Shawna literally HANGING off of my arm.

I mean, I love it when the girls adore me, but this is taking it too far.

I admired the room. They had decorated it pretty well!

There were balloon arches everywhere, over the windows, over the doors, over the DJ, everywhere! There was a bar in a separate area with a buffet. It was dark, and the only thing lighting up the room was a disco ball, and some soft multi coloured beams.
There was even two 'thrones' up there, for Prom King and Prom Queen.

At least it's a Masquerade Ball, so I don't have to put up with her all night.

Ever since the janitors closet episode, Shawna has been by my side constantly, thinking that we were together now or something.

    'Pfft, as if.'

I leant down. "Shawna babe, I'm just going to go get something to drink, you want anything?"

"Fanta please!" she replied, happiness lit up her face.

I walked off and collected our drinks. However, when I was walking back, I looked at the door, and stopped dead in my tracks.

In walked Nick, and holding his hand was, I guessed, Lailah. Who else would it be? She had her mask on though, but it definitely was her.

She looked amazing. That little black dress really showed off her toned body, and only just covered up her butt.

I was pretty jealous of Nick, but overall, I didn't care.

Because soon, she wouldn't be his.

    She would be mine.

    ~Three hours later~

    Lailahs P.O.V.

My feet were killing me, and my ears were ringing. At the end, the music really got loud, as it got faster, and more pop-ish as it replaced slow.

However, before the party had ended, Nick had enticed me outside. I was laughing about a joke he had made, and he was chuckling too.

We both walked to the end of the driveway, letting the sea breeze hug our faces.

He then spun me around, and kissed me passionately. When we finally broke apart, he rested his forehead on mine.

Before he murmured the most heart-wrenching phrase.

    "I'm sorry, Lailah,"

My stomach lurched, right as he stepped away from me, and faced the other direction, towards the building.

"What do you mean?" Although I could already guess.

"This whole thing, me and you…it was all just a joke." My heart stopped of it's own accord.

    "No…no! You're lying!"

"I'm not. I'm so sorry." He said it again and again, but I could tell by his eyes that he didn't mean it.

"No Nick," I whispered, walking up to him, and placing a hand on his cheek. "You are lying. I can tell by your eyes. Please, just please, tell me why."

He lowered his eyelids, and took a deep breath. "A while back, my friends dared me to ask out the next new girl, who joined this school. I couldn't disagree, they wouldn't let me.
"That new girl happened to be you. Obviously I knew you were hot at first, so I thought that it would be fun.
"I didn't want to fall in love with you. I really didn't want to, but somehow, I did." He looked me straight in the eye. "I never thought that telling you would be so hard…"

My heart was beating so hard, I was surprised that my dress didn't rip off. "No, but you don't need to do this! You don't! You're better than them."

"But that's not all of it. I haven't been completely honest with you." I stepped away from him. I knew what was coming. "I've been sneaking around with Brittany behind your back."

My heart felt like it had been torn into a million tiny pieces.

"You son of a *****!" I screeched at him, and slapped him hard.

    I know, attractive, right?

By now, the party had finished. Many were coming out to go home, but stopped when they saw our little tragedy.

"Well, you're not all innocent, are you?" He shouted back. "I know you have been with Blake!" There were gasps from the crowd, some 'Whey mate's and some 'Oh. My. God's. But I didn't care.

    "You don't know anything!"

"Well, why don't you help me?"

I wasn't just upset now. I was angry, embarrassed, and just wanted to run into his arms, I just wanted him to whisper in my ear like normal.

"He was the one who I first met here, the one who helped me. He gets me, and he helps me like you never could! Most of all," this part my loud voice faltered a bit, "he is kind and caring, something which you will never acquire."

He hesitated for a moment. "Blake is a fake, and only wants you for your body!"

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Blake begin to make his way through the students.

"Oh, and you don't?" A couple of teens in the crowd began to chant 'fight, fight, fight'. Bah, as if.

He stopped for a moment, and then spoke. "You are a selfish cow who has more money than sense. I don't date sluts like you."

    That was the last straw.

I strode up to him, slapped him fast and hard, before walking quickly over to Blake, and dragging him inside the hall again.

I buried my face in his neck, the tears flowing freely.

"Hey," he said in a surprisingly soft voice. "Do you want to go back to your room?"

I looked up, and nodded. "Yeah, thanks."

We took the long way through the school, so we could avoid the students.

Finally we got back to my room. I went into the bathroom, and got changed into my pyjamas, brushed my teeth, etc…

When I came out, Blake was sitting on my bed.

"Ok, I guess I should, Uh, leave." He stood up.

"No, please stay with me," I begged, not wanting to be alone.

He pouted for a couple of seconds. "Okay, I will."

I smiled warmly at him, and climbed into bed.

Soon, I was snuggled up against his chest with my eyes closed, happy for now.

I fell to sleep almost instantly, just as I guessed Blake did too.

  11. Chapter 25

    Lailahs P.O.V.

I tugged at a ribbon attached to the white satin.

Today was my aunts wedding, and I was loathing every second of it.

Everything was so pearly, pristine and perfect, but, most of all, WHITE!

My bridesmaid dress was white, with a ribbon around my waist, and around the bottom rim of the dress. It was cut quite low, but still appropriately, and my hair was curled up into a complex twist. My make up was perfect, although my Lulu - my cousin, who was a beautician - decided to settle with a more natural look. My shoes were white ballet shoes, much to my dislike, and I had a bouquet of cream and red roses securely held within my hands.

As I looked around, I could tell that the other bridesmaids looked, very much so, the same as me.

Yesterday, I had vowed to myself that I wouldn't spare a single thought to either Blake or Nick, or even to school for that matter.

Today was Aunt Pippas big day, and I was NOT going to ruin it.

    ***

    "Haven't you grown?"

    "You look so beautiful now-a-days!"

"The last time I saw you, you were a tiny baby, wriggling in your mothers arms."

    "You look so gorgeous, darling."

They were just some of the phrases I heard at the wedding lunch that day.

I was sick to the core of relatives gushing about how 'I have my mothers eyes,' or 'how I'm a tiny little dot.' Someone even went to the extent of mentioning how 'my hair had a healthy shine.' Um excuse me, but I really don't give a damn.

A tanned, male hand tapped my shoulder.

I briefly internally groaned, before turning around to confront the next adoring uncle or bored second cousin.

However, this occasion was far from that.

Because before I could turn to face that particular person, the same hand gripped my foreman, and practically dragged me outside, and behind the venue.

Finally, I managed to rip my arm from their grip, and turned to face the assaulter.

And by doing so, I recoiled in surprise.

Because Nick was standing in front of me.

    Nicks P.O.V.

'Be patient, be patient, be patient,' I repeated over and over in my head.

"Please," I said. "Don't scream, and just hear me out."

She scowled at me, and clucked her tongue.

"Well, get on with it then."

I hurried to begin. "Well, I just want to say I'm so sorry. I regret every single word. I never thought it would sting you so badly, and if I had know, I would never have done it.
"I know it's a lot to ask, but will you forgive me? Not even get back together, please, just please, forgive me." I begged, staring into her eyes.

She was silent for a couple of seconds.

"I don't know, Nick." She finally whispered. "You broke my heart. I was so embarrassed that night, so angry and so broken, I just don't know how I could forgive you."

My heart slowly sank, however I said nothing.

She looked down to the ground for a while. Then she slowly raised her gaze up to reach mine.

"I'm sorry. I just can't." Lailah ran back inside, with glistening eyes, leaving me broken. I slowly crumpled to the floor, forgetting about my white suit.

I needed to get out of there. I was only attending because my dad was best friends with the groom.

They wouldn't miss me if I left.

    Would they?

But just as I stood up, and started to walk away, my feet stopped dead in their tracks.

Because I was looking straight down the barrel of a gun.

I quickly knocked the end of the gun up, by punching it, so that it wasn't pointing towards me.

I then grabbed the arm that was holding the gun, and, raising my knee, cracked it against my thigh.

A snap rang out, as the man howled in pain.

Clutching his broken arm, he spat at my feet before fleeing back into the forest.

I lowered myself down on a fallen trunk in shock.

Had that really just happened? Had I really just looked death in the eye?

I wasn't sure about anything anymore.

    Lailahs P.O.V.

I head straight for the ladies rest rooms.

Once I had safely entered, I lowered myself gracefully down onto one of the sofas in there.

I was completely and utterly shocked, annoyed, frustrated at myself, and also a tiny bit embarrassed.

How dare he show up like that? Since he let me down that night, I hadn't spoken to nor seen him at school.

Soon enough, I was ready to face the world once more.

I topped up on my make up, and then, fixing a fake smile on my lips, I strutted out of the toilets.

    Finally, I spotted them.

I ran over to Blake and Tessa. Luckily, my mom had given me permission to invite two friends. She had understood I might lose the will to live if the only people I talked to were family members. However, my brother refused to, saying he was 'too mature, unlike Lailah.' Pfft, yeah.
    Chace Price, mature? Jog on.

I smiled at both of them gratefully.

"Thanks guys. I know you're probably bored out of your minds, but at least I'm here now!" They both grinned and nodded.

"You got that right," Blake said, smiling at me.

I looked uncomfortably towards Tessa. "Uh, mind if I steal Blake for a couple of seconds?"

"Oh sure! But whats his name?" Tessa motioned towards Chace.

I rolled my eyes. "Tess, trust you to, out of all of the guys in this room, trust you to have a crush on MY BROTHER!" I said dramatically, as Tessa giggled.

"Excuse me, but I don't have a crush! I just want to know in case I end up speaking to him."

I raised an eyebrow skeptically at her. "Sure. If you MUST know, his name is Chace."

"Kays, thanks Lai." We had nicknames for each other. Mine was Lai, so hers was Tess. "See you whenever. Don't rush, I'll be fine."

We exchanged smiles, and then parted.

"Um, I need to speak to you somewhere in private." I murmured to him, scanning the hall for a little room.

"I think you have a little more than speaking in mind," he whispered in my ear.

I laughed and blushed at the same time, gently swatting him on the shoulder. "I'm serious!"

Eventually, we found the perfect room, hidden by a pillar.

Inside were spare soft sofas and comfy chairs.

I sat down on one of the sofas. Once Blake had locked the door, he came and joined me.

"I'm all ears." He announced, leaning back in the cushions, while I sat up straight, tense and alert.

"Uh well, um…how do I put this?" I blabbered on and on, beating around the bush. He raised his eyebrows at me, and eventually, I just blurted it out. "Nick's here."

His relaxed position didn't change, but his eyes narrowed, and his muscles tensed.

"And um…he kind of dragged me outside, and asked me to forgive him and stuff. Which," I hastened to add, "I didn't, and said no to."

Blake seemed to relax again just the slightest bit. "When?" He asked in a partly cold, but calm, voice.

"About ten minutes ago? Fifteen maybe?"

My arm was throbbing gently, so I glanced at it, and was shocked.

Already, a bruise was beginning to form, where Nick had grabbed me.

When Blake spotted it, his eyes darkened.

Within seconds, he was up and striding towards the door.

"No!" I cried, and latched onto his arm.

"Lailah, he can't do this to you and get away with it. He is sick, I hate him for what he has done to you. You should too."

"I do, but violence is never the answer to anything. Don't go, please!" By then, I was literally begging.

He stared down at me for a dozen seconds or so.

"He can't get away with this." Blake finalised, shaking me off, unlocking the door and walking out.

With trembling hands, I sullenly followed.

As I tagged behind Blake on the way to the door that led outside, Tessa appeared at my side.

"What's happening?" She asked, genuinely concerned.

"Ni…Nick's here, and Blake's go…gone out to find h…him." I stuttered, worried and scared beyond the point of belief.

I revealed the growing bruises to Tessa. When I looked up, the doors were just swinging shut, and Blake was gone.

I mentioned to Tessa, and we both hurried outside.

We were just time to see Blake punch Nick.

"No!" I cried, and ran in between them. "Please, don't fight!" I placed both of my hands on Blakes chest. "Please, don't." I whispered to him.

Luckily, we were behind the building, so no one could see us.

I managed to pull him away from Nick a couple of metres or so. Enough for Tessa to check Nicks chin, where Blake had punched him.

"You don't need to fight," I whispered, winding my arms around his neck and burying my face in the crook of his neck.

"I don't need to, but I want to. I'm fed up of him always getting out of situations like these without a scratch." He muttered into my hair, running a hand up and down my back.

Just as I started to relax in Blakes arms, I head someone flick the safety off of a gun.

"Now, everyone turn around and face me slowly." A voice commanded.

A voice which made my blood run cold.

    Brad.

As I turned around, I realised that Brad himself didn't have a gun. His right hand was cramped in a weird position.

Instead, a half-dozen men stepped out of the trees behind him.

    However, they all had pistols.

And all of them were pointed towards Blake and I.

    Here's the next chapter. Fi-na-lly!!
Please see the feedback post as to why I haven't posted for a long while now.

  12. IMPORTANT! VERY IMPORTANT! ITS ESSENTIAL YOU READ THIS, AS YOU WILL BE CONFUSED IN THE NEXT CHAPTERS IF YOU DON'T!

Basically, the man that was there in the latest chapter wasn't actually Brad. It was the guy who works for him. Read back to the 3rd page, and second chapter on that page, where Lailah gets kidnapped and then rescued by Blake. In the latest chapter, when Lailah turns around, the guy she sees is the man who unsuccessfully kidnapped her.

Wall me if you don't understand. Also, I HAVE changed my name, if anyone is confused.

  13. READ THIS, IMPORTANT!

Lailah recognised his voice from the man who tried to kidnap her earlier on in the story. It wasn't Brad in the previous chapter, it was that man who works for him.

    Chapter 26

    Lailahs P.O.V.

My heart was pounding, my forehead was slick with sweat of fear, as were my hands.

I clung onto Blake as if my life depended on it. Which, in a way, it did.

A warm, enticing laugh came from within the forest, making my blood run warmer than before, even if I was clinging onto Blake, who had basically been my life support throughout this whole ordeal.

"It's a game of cat and mouse really," the voice observed. It was rich and luscious, slowly drawing you in. "Whenever we seem to catch you, you manage to run away again! A vicious circle, never ending." The owner of the voice came forth.

The male was extremely handsome. With brown tousled hair and green eyes, his lips were full and red, yet his jawbone was moderately prominent. He was tall and muscular, his skin a mediocre golden. He looked young; possibly nineteen or twenty?

I shifted my gaze slightly to look at Tessa out of the corner of my eye. She was the same as me. It felt like we were in the presence of a god, however, not his voice, nor his laugh, nor his inhumanly good-looks deterred the boys.

"As you may know already, I am Brad." I completely tensed up, and my self control was slipping away by the second. "You especially." Brad pointed to me.

My heart rate was racing away. Blake noticed my distress, and, because his arm was around my waist, he began to rub his thumb up and down my hip, instantly calming me down.

"Now, I want you to listen to me carefully." He spoke slowly, as of we were little children. "I want you all to come with us, without any fuss."

I began trembling. Blake kept up his steady rubbing. Up and down, up and down, up and down.

I focused on the cruel, but very hot, man standing in front of him, and channeled as much hate and disgust into my glare as possible.

By now, it didn't matter one bit how hot he was.

    He was pure evil.

    Blakes P.O.V.

No. He would not, he COULD not do this! He wouldn't take Lailah away from me. Even if they took all of us, we were definitely going to be split up when we arrived at the destination.

On the outside, I was the one comforting Lailah, but secretly, I was just as scared as she was. Scared for us, scared that I might never hear her beautiful laugh again, or scared that we would never have another tender moment together.

I could feel her trembling in my arms, shaking with fear from what was about to come.

As I scanned the men, there were ten of them with pistols, the man with the injured hand, and the so-called 'Brad'.

"Lailah, Blake, Nick, Tessa, all you need to do is come with us." He said slowly and softly. "If you come quietly, no one will be hurt."

I wanted to whisper in Lailahs ear, to tell her that everything would be alright, that we would escape, and that one day we would be sitting in class, with Mrs. Stretch screeching at everyone whilst standing at the front. That one day, our life might possibly be normal.

But I had a feeling that they would all be lies.

I closed my eyes briefly to think.

At the end of the day, it was all up to Lailah. I wasn't going to force her into something which could change our lives.

I heard her breath a deep, shaky sigh, and she leaned into me a little, for support.

"So? Are you coming quietly, or will we have to cause a scene?" He snapped, hurrying us.

She looked up at me. I planted a quick kiss on her forehead, and realised we had both come to the same conclusion.

Her eyes flashed bright orange, and I smiled. When I glanced over at Nick and Tessa, they both looked determined.

We weren't going down without a fight.

    Lailahs P.O.V.

"We're not coming with you." I heard Blake said strongly, and I tensed up again, as I began to bring forth the water.

But as hard as I tried to do just that, I couldn't. It felt like the harder I tried, the more life-force was being sucked out of me.

I gave up quickly, afraid I would die from the effort. I was absolutely exhausted already.

I could feel Blakes gaze on me, so I, very subtly and slighty, shook my head.

I think he got the message. When I quickly glanced up again, I saw his eyes narrowed, and his glare fixed upon one of the gunmen, yet nothing was happening. That man was meant to have burst into flame about three seconds ago.

Soon, he too gave up, as bags were forming under his eyes. As I looked around at Nick and Tessa, they too seemed exhausted.

"What's that? You can't use your Majistræ?" Brad seemed to enjoy seeing our discomfort.

Nick glared at him, though his shoulders were slumped. "You drugged our food didn't you?" Speedily five of the ten guns switched so they were pointing towards Tessa and Nick, although the other five stayed traced on Blake and I. "I learnt about this. There's a special drug that drains any ability for Morges to use their Majistræ. It only works for about one hour, but nevertheless, it works well."

Brad smirked. "Well done, that's exactly what I did."

I was confused. Why did he keep confessing to all of this stuff? Who he was, the drugs. It was risky for him, if we were to escape. Maybe he was just sure that we wouldn't get away.

"Okay," Brad said nonchalantly. "Get them."

I whimpered, cowering back into Blake.

"Shh, don't worry." He whispered into my ear as the gunmen slowly began to advance towards us.

I couldn't help it. Tears streamed down my face, soaking my dress and making my eyeliner run, but now really was not the time to worry about that.

"I'll always be here for you." Blake whispered again as I clung onto his waist.

I looked over to see Nick and Tessa. Tessa was the same as me, tears running freely and clinging onto Nick. Even though I knew they weren't a couple, it was for support that she held onto him. Nick looked at me too, and he caught my gaze.

    "I love you." He mouthed.

This made me sob even harder. "I love you too." I managed to mouth back.

Eventually they reached everyone. Two men for each of us, with the spare two at the front in the case of extra security needed.

The four men began to roughly pull Blake and I apart.

I screamed and shouted. "No! No! You can't do this! Blake!"

"Lailah!" He shouted back, but soon was silenced, as was I, because two guns were held to my head.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Tessa and Nick in the same position.

Just as we were about to be dragged into the forest, I heard a manly voice.

    "FREEZE!"

All of the men stopped, forcing us four teenagers to follow suit.

"Get down on the floor!" The same man shouted.

Both of the guns were removed from my head, as everyone laid down on the floor.

Most of the policemen walked over to a gunman each, and roughly pulled them up.

Two then went over to Brad, and one to the injured man.

"Brad Sinas and Co. I'm arresting you on suspicion of attempted kidnap and murder. You have the right to remain silent, if you give up this right anything you say can and will be used as evidence against you in the court of law." I could have cried right then. I was so relieved we were saved!

Then four policemen cautiously came over to each of us teenagers, and helped us up.

"Are you okay, Ma'am?" One asked me.

I smiled weakly. "Better since you all came along and rescued us. Thank you so much, Officer."

He smiled and nodded in return. As I looked around, I saw all twelve of our enemies being led to about six police cars.

Brad looked around, and spat at me, before being shoved inside a car.

People were beginning to gather outside.

"Ma'am, I must caution you that you will most likely be called to court, on the account that this crime was committed against you."

"Okay." I said weakly. "I shall talk to my parents when I get the chance. Do I need to come down to the station?"

"I'm afraid so, Ma'am. We need to take a personal account of what happened to all of you."

    "Okay," I replied unsteadily again.

"Lailah!" I heard my mom scream.

I smiled weakly, and, with wobbly knees, began to walk towards her running figure.

When she reached me, she enveloped me in a huge hug, and promptly began to start sobbing.

"I c…can't believe it. If t…the police hadn't t…turned up, you wouldn't even be…be here!" She cried, still suffocating me in a bone-crushing hug.

"I know!" I began to cry again.

Soon we both calmed down, but an occasional tear sometimes leaked.

I saw Nick with his dad, doing the weird man-hug thing, and rolled my eyes. Because I would be such a weird thing for father and son to actually hug, wouldn't it?

I hugged my brother, my dad (which was still a bit tense between us, after he caught Nick and I kissing in my kitchen), and even though she didn't know what had happened, I hugged my baby sister. Apparently no one could hear anything inside.

I had a girly hug with Tessa, both of us bawling our eyes out again, but this time with happiness. I hugged Nick too, although that was a bit awkward.

    Lastly I came to Blake.

I ran up to him and wrapped my legs round his waist, burying my face in his shoulder.

    "I can't believe I nearly lost you." I whispered.

"I can't believe I nearly lost YOU!" We both smiled a bit.

We didn't really kiss that much, a couple of pecks, but that was it. Mostly we just hugged and cried - well I cried. He just frowned.

I think God smiled on us today. If the police had been a couple more seconds later, we would have been gone.

Once we were all back from the police station, I was hugged and kissed on the cheek by all of my relatives. Blake, Nick and Tessa met them all as well. I was pleased because after that traumatic event, my relatives treated them like family, seeing as they had no family there. Well except for Nick who had his dad there.

But once everyone had died down - well, as died down as you can get after someone was nearly kidnapped - I went and apologised to my aunt for spoiling her special day.

She laughed it off, said it wasn't my fault at all, how could it have been? And she said it makes here wedding all that much more memorable.

Soon after, Blake and I went back to our little room, but not without telling my mom and dad first. I didn't want them to think we had actually been kidnapped this time.

He sat down on one of the plush sofas, and I followed, leaning into the side of him, and laying my head on his shoulder.

Heat pulsed through every vein of my body, even my beating heart seemed red hot, but in a surprisingly pleasant way.

He then leant down, and kissed me softly. I turned around, twirled my arms around his neck, and really made the most of being with him.

I wasn't sure how much longer I was going to get.

  14. Chapter 27

    Lailahs P.O.V.

My breathing was heavy, accompanied by my forehead slick with sweat.

I was practicing my sword-play. My legs were complaining, my arms were protesting and my chest could not keep up, but I persevered.

Once we were back at school, word travelled fast of our 'little incident'.

Well, 'little incident'. More like world-wide catastrophe. It was on the news, in the papers. There were paparazzi outside the school gates constantly, and even teachers wanted to interview me! I couldn't get to my classes without being bombarded by shouting students and repetitive reporters.

Soon, I slumped down on a bench, defeated and done for the day. I didn't really know what to do. I still had one more lesson to go to, but could I really be bothered?

    The answer? No.

Once I was breathing like a human being again, I slowly made my way over to the girls changing rooms, and slipped on my jeans and jumper. It was freezing outside.

Just as I stepped outside, Tessa ran into me. Her face was red and her eyes were worried. More worried than I had seen her before.

"What's wrong?" I asked, genuinely concerned.

"P…purple…" she paused to take a breath. "Purple…purple lightning."

For some reason, my stomach lurched, but I could not understand why.

"Wait, hold tight, rewind, come again. WHAT did you just say?" My head was swimming and I was nervous almost to the point of pain.

'Whats happening to me? Why am I so nervous?'

"Don't you understand, Lailah?" Now that Tessa had regained her breath, she grabbed my shoulders and looked me straight in the eyes. "It's a war. Another one. But this time, they are more prepared."

Everything stopped around me, ad her words slowly sunk in. How did my body know that it was something terrible?

How did my body know that Tessa meant another war?

    Blakes P.O.V.

"No…no, you have GOT to be kidding me." I almost shouted, exasperated.

I had just plucked Lailah away from the deadly claws of death. Now, the Angels and Demons were coming again?

I cursed violently, and began to pace around the room. They had to be a way to keep her safe…

Not just for her sake, but for mine.

I sighed heavily, and looked up to meet the Head Masters' eyes.

"I need to go, sir." I sneered sir. Never would he gain my respect.

    "You are dismissed."

I quickly walked out of the office, and towards Lailahs form.

The least I could do was explain.

    Lailahs P.O.V.

Once Tessa had taken me back to my form - I was too shaky to go by myself - she had left, claiming we both needed 'some time to think'.

I heard a gentle knock at the door, and murmured an acknowledgement.

Blake tentatively walked in, and shut the door quietly behind him.

"You know, then?" He asked softly.

"Yeah." I replied, looking up to meet his gaze.

"I…" Blake took a deep breath. "I guess I came here to talk to you. To give you some answers." He lowered himself down onto the sofa opposite me.

"Okay." I said simply, but weakly. "Well, first off, why are the Angels and Demons returning?"

"Ever heard of heaven and hell?" I nodded. "Well, they have forever had a feud, but never as bad as their joint feud between them and the humans. One day…"

    ***

By the time Blake had finished his lesson, I was staring at a tiny spider on the floor, trying to digest all of the information.

"It's all good. But why are you so worried about me, and always protecting me and things like that?"

Blake shifted uncomfortably. "Well, Uh…you see the thing is…well…"

"Just get on with it." I snapped.

He took a deep breath. "Basically…if one of us dies, so does the other."

    •••

It was midnight, and surrounding me were about 20,000 Morges. Don't ask me how they all got there in time. I don't have a clue.

We all had swords and shields, some had arrows too.

I didn't know what to think or feel. I think the most outgoing emotion was worry. Worry and fear.

Worry for me, worry for Nick, worry for Tessa, but most of all, worry for Blake.

    But I stayed strong-willed.

'If we are destined to die in battle; so be it.'

    <><><><><><><><><>

Here you go! Sorry for long wait!

  15. Chapter 28

    Lailahs P.O.V.

I didn't have a clue about what I was meant to be doing.

I couldn't see anyone I knew, or even recognised. It wasn't just because of the lack of light, the angels cleared that up for us.

More the fact that there were thousands upon thousands of Morges and other-worldly creatures alike.

Some war drums began to keep up a steady beat and everyone , including the Angels and Demons, fell silent.

Someone grabbed my wrist, and I whipped around, but only to relax again, as I discovered it was just Blake.

He began to lead me out of the throng of students, but I frowned and shook my head at him.

"Where are we going?" I whispered harshly, as he tugged my hand and we began to walk off again.

"Please Lailah, I just need to speak to you!"

Eventually, we arrived at a cliff overlooking the sea. How he knew where all of these places were, I'll never know.

"What are we doing here?" I inquired, gazing out to sea.

    He hesitated.

    "You're not fighting today."

It took a couple of seconds for it to sink in.

    And then I exploded. "WHAT?"

"I can't have you fighting out there Lailah! I can't have you fighting and not know whether you are alright! Sure, if you get killed, then I'll know, as I will die too, but if you get harmed, then I won't be able to know." He explained frantically, his eyes begging mine.

I huffed loudly and cross my arms. "This is SO unfair!" I said, stomping a foot on the word 'so'.

Blake gazed at me, before he burst out laughing, clutching his stomach.

"What now?" I almost shouted, exasperated.

    "Did…did you really j…just stomp your foot li…like a four year-old?"

I raised my eyebrows at him, fighting back the urge to giggle. "Is now really the time for teasing?"

In the end, Blake managed to pull himself together.

"Look, if I'm not fighting, neither are you." I said bluntly.

Now it was his turn to look outraged. "No way! Lailah, they are not going to get ANYWHERE if I'm not there!"

"Tough." I shrugged. "If I'm not fighting, then neither are you-"

    "But-"

    "I said, if I'm not fighting…then you're not either!"

"I have to fight!" He was getting a bit frustrated now, I could tell.

I closed my eyes, counted to five slowly, and reopened them, only to find Blake had silently moved closer to me, and was about to place his hands on my hips.

I wound my arms around his neck.

"Please Blake," I whispered, staring into his black eyes with my own brown ones. "Please let me fight."

He gazed at me for a while, before looking away silently towards the sea. "If I let you fight, promise me that if you get hurt a bit, or don't want to fight anymore, or even if you get a bit tired, promise me that you'll come back here?"

I nodded, barely containing my excitement. "Yeah, I promise."

"Okay, I guess that you're fighting then."

I squealed and leaped into his arms, wrapping my legs around his torso.

"Don't worry," I whispered into his ear. "We'll be alright. We always are."

    ***

    Blakes P.O.V.

Yet another angels piercing cry attacked my eardrums.

As the head of it fell to the floor, I had a brief second to collect myself before I heard an almighty roar.

Everyone went silent, and turned to face the terrible noise.

As the head of the Lead Angel came crashing to the ground, a brilliant, white, shining light filled the place. All humans, or should I say, Morges, covered their eyes from the blinding glow.

Morges started to scream and shout, catastrophes everywhere.

And then, as quick as it came, the light vanished, taking the Angels and Demons with it.

After the initial shock, people began to cheer and rejoice, glad that they were rid of the creatures for another period of time, whether it be short or long.

I looked around for a while, a huge grin on my face, and then I spotted a huge crowd.

Out of their own free will, my legs began jogging over there.

Soon, I spotted who all the fuss was about.

My face broke out into a grin once more. I shoved my way through the crowds, and went over to him, before slapped him on the back.

    "Zak!" I exclaimed excitedly.

"Blake?" He kind of sounded surprised to see me.

    "Well, obviously." I smirked.

"It's been ages bro!" He cried, clapping me on the shoulder a couple of times.

"Since when have you been this popular?" I joked, but actually curious.

"Since I killed the Head Angel."

My eyes flew open. Zak was the one who killed the Head Angel, the right hand man of God?

"No way! Dude that's so annoying, he was next on my list!" I laughed, although what I said wasn't really very funny.

"Yeah, I can't believe that I actually did that! But considering the fact that the idiot hurt the hot new girl, I kind of got some adrenaline and it was payback."

    I stared at him. "What?"

  18. Chapter 29

    Brittanys P.O.V.

Uh, why was I even fighting there anyway? Just because I'm cursed to be a Morge, I have to do EVERYTHING!

I stripped off all of my fighting gear, and stepped into the shower, sighing in delight. The hot water ran its course down my back, instantly relaxing my tensed muscles.

Where WAS Nick anyway? I was meant to be meeting him about 10 minutes ago!

Soon, I stepped out of the shower, and dried myself, before getting dressed. I brushed my hair and re-applied my makeup.

And sure enough, as soon as I stepped out of the bathroom, Nick was sitting there casually, watching the television.

"Hey," I swayed my hips as I walked over to him.

    "Hey," he grinned at me.

I sat down on the sofa next to him.

"You okay? You kind of look a little bit down, babe."

"What?" He asked, astounded. "I'm fine!" His face was convincing. But his voice? Not so much.

"I know you're lying." I told him flatly.

"…Lailah got badly hurt in the fight today." He finally admitted.

I really could care less! "You're seriously worried about her? She'll be alright! I swear!"

"You sure?" He asked, looking insecure and worried.

"Yeah." I assured him, though I wasn't even sure myself.

    Blakes P.O.V.

"No! No way! You have got to be kidding me!" I couldn't believe it. Not my Lailah! Not again!

    "Yeah, what's her name? Lily…Liza…Liliah…"

    "Lailah." I whispered, shocked.

"Yeah, that's it. Dude, what's up? You're a bit like, weirded out!"

    'He doesn't know!' I realised.

"Me and Lailah are kind of dating." I said, my voice hoarse.

"No way! She is so fit man, you scored so lucky! I mean… He rambled on and on, forgetting the actual point of this conversation.

"ZAK!" I pretty much shouted at him. Was he actually being serious?

"What?" I could see he was confused.

"Just…shut up for a minute." I closed my eyes for a while. Whe I reopened them, he was still standing there, just staring behind me.

"What are you looking at?" I inquired, turning to look behind me.

"Blake…" he told me in a warning voice.

As soon as I saw her, I was sprinting, full speed.

I don't know. This connection we have. It makes me feel angry when she's hurt, excited when she's happy, tearful when she's sad. It makes me feel scared. I've never felt anything like this before. Sometimes, I feel so scared, so insecure.

Eventually, I reached her. I knew I was practically flying towards her, but it felt like a marathon.

"Blake?" She asked weakly, turning her head towards me. Tears were streaming down her face.

The crowd had parted by now, and I easily ran over to her. Once I was there, I got down on my knees, and pulled her into a gentle hug.

"Shh! It's alright." I whispered into her hair, stroking her back rhythmically. I still couldn't get over the heated bullets that flew around my body whenever I made contact with her!

Sobs racked her body as she cried even harder, pressing her face into my neck.

I kept on soothingly stroking her back, whispering comforting words to her.

When she had finally stopped crying, I pulled away to look at her.

"What hurts?" I whispered, rubbing my thumb over her hand.

"My head is pounding. I can feel my leg, I just can't move it. It hurts so much to try to move it. And my arm is really painful to move as well, although I can feel that too." She tried to move her arm, but I quickly stopped her. I didn't want her in any more pain than necessary.

"Okay, I'm sure your headache will dull down soon." I reassured her, holding her little, soft, trembling hand gently.

Eventually, an ambulance came. I was allowed to come, but under strict rules to not interfere with either Lailah or the paramedics or anything else in the ambulance. I was just to sit on a chair and wait.

We soon came to a stop at a little hospital. It was tiny, and I had a little suspicion that it was just for Morges.

They made me wait outside whilst they did several tests on her.

    Finally I was let in.

"How do you feel?" I asked gently, I didn't want to shock her or speak too loudly as she was obviously tired.

"A tiny bit better. You were right, the headache is dying down now."

"Normally, I would get annoyed at you for not going to the clearing as you were hurt, but it would have been hard for youth, as you can't even walk at the moment!

"Yeah," she smiled weakly, and clutched my hand. "You know, in the end, you're always right. I should never have even fought in the first place. With my luck, there was no way I would come out with less than a scratch"

I chuckled. "Well, that is true!"

Some moments of silence passed as, as we both just relished being in each others presence.

"Okay babe, I'm going to let you rest now, okay?" I said, squeezing her hand once more.

"Okay then." She tried to look grumpy, but she was so tired, it would have been mission impossible.

"See you tomorrow. I hope you feel better."

"Yeah, I will. Thanks babe. See you." She said, as I began to leave.

Just as I was about to go out of the door, I turned around, gave her a little flirty wink and wave, and then left.

    Brittanys P.O.V.

This whole night, Nick has been worried about Lailah.

Like, I would kiss him, and he would kiss me back, but he wouldn't be as into it as he normally is.

"Oh my god Nick! Chill out already! She's okay, alright?"

    "Yeah I guess…"

I rolled my eyes. "Do I really need to take you to the hospital to see her?"

    "Well…" OMG! I didn't actually mean it! I wasn't actually going to!

    "No! Wait…"

"Yeah okay - let's go then."

    •••

    "Nick?"

    "Hey Lailah."

    "What are you doing here?"

  19. Chapter 30

    Lailahs P.O.V.

"What are you doing here?" Why was he here? And more importantly, why was BRITTANY here? The queen bee-with-an-itch was here to visit ME in a hospital? What?

"Uh…" Brittany blew a bubble with her gum. "I'll go for like, a minute then." She swiftly walked out of the room.

"Uh, so, I was just coming here to make sure you were okay, I guess." He said, stumbling over his words, coming over to sit on a chair.

"Yeah, I suppose I'm alright. Nothing too major or life threatening. I'm pretty sure I look worse than I feel." I explained, feeling a blush rise to my cheeks.

"No, you look beautiful." He murmured, gazing deeply into my eyes.

I was the one to break eye contact first, looking down at my nails. I played with the white french tips of them.

"Why are you really here, Nick?" I asked. He really thought he got away with it as well!

He took a deep breath. "Well, I just wanted to say I sti…still…" He faltered, stopping mid sentence. "I'm sorry Lailah, I just can't do this." He whispered, striding out of the room; leaving me confused and slightly hurt.

    ***

The next day, I was let out of hospital. I was in a wheelchair - as my leg had been dislocated- because the injury to my arm would've prevented me from using crutches. It was this really cool wheelchair as well. Because my arm was broken, it had a little joy stick on the side. I just move the little toggle whatever way I wanted to move, and it did it!

Over the next few days, the wheelchair became less and less fun, and it became more and more of a hassle. It was a problem to get in classrooms, through doors, and everywhere I went, I had to have someone with me. Truth be told, it meant more time with Blake for me, but still. It was all so much effort!

But my injuries were healing at an amazing pace. By the end of the week, I could walk perfectly on my leg and had full use of my arm. Life was back to normal again. Well, as normal as it could get.

I pushed open the door to my dorm, and walked inside.

Brittany was sitting on the sofa, watching tv.

I sat down in one of the chairs, and she turned to me.

"I have like, a deal." She said flatly.

"Okay…" I wasn't sure what she was going to say.

"If you give me Blake back, in like, return, I'll like, give you Nick back." I hesitated.

    "Nah, I'll pass." I decided.

Her face contorted into a mask of shock. "WHAT?" She shrieked, causing me to wince.

"God, calm down." I muttered, and stood up to leave.

"What…but…I…how could you say no?" She spluttered.

"Well, you know Brittany, sometimes in life, you don't always get what you want." Those were my last words to her as I walked out of the door.

I made my way down to Blakes dorm. Just as I was about to knock, the door was pulled open.

I stepped out of the way as Nick strode out. He sent me a guilty look, before walking in the direction of my dorm.

I walked into the room, and saw Blake, his eyes angry and his hands balled up into fists.

"Hey," I said softly, quickly going over to him. "What's wrong?"

Instantly, he relaxed and stood up.

"Come on," he said, holding out his hand. "I want to take you somewhere."

"Ok where?" I took his hand, and we walked out of the dorm.

"You know where I took you before the fight the other day?"

    I nodded.

"Yeah, I want to take you there again."

Eventually, we reached the cliff side again, and both sat down on the bench that faced out to the sea.

"Lailah," Blake said, as if he was going to ask me a question.

    "Mmm?"

    "Will you be my girlfriend?"

    I didn't hesitate one bit.

"Yes." I turned and wrapped my arms around his neck, kissing him.

    ***

A while later, we went back to the dorm.

Just as I sat down, Blake grabbed my hips and laid me down on the sofa, kissing me until I was breathless.

When he pulled away, Blake stared into my eyes, black on brown.

"My girlfriend." He whispered, grinning down at me. "You're my girlfriend."

My heart seemed to stop beating for a minute, and I closed my eyes.

I opened my eyes, and he pecked me quickly on the lips once more, before sitting up. However, he sill rested a hand on my injured leg.

Suddenly, my whole leg exploded in pain. The blood drained from my face, I began shaking and then I remembered how to use my voice.

I screamed, panicking. "My leg, my leg!"

Blakes eyes flew open. "What?" His whole face was a mixture of confusion and alarm.

"My leg!" Black spots were appearing in my vision from the pain.

Finally, Blake realised and whipped his hand away.

Just as I was about to faint, the pain subsided. I laid there, gasping for breath.

Blake turned to me with wide eyes.

"What happened? What happened to your leg?"

He stretched out next to me, gathering me up into his arms, as I curled up into his side.

"I don't know," I whispered, wrapping my arms around his torso, and burying my face in his neck. "I don't know."

    ***

    Blakes P.O.V.

An hour later, Lailah was asleep.

I gazed down at her face while she slept, marvelling at the smoothness of it.

My mind was racing with thoughts of what had happened sixty minutes ago.

Lailah never really complains about pain, so that must've been unbearable.

My stomach was twisting uncomfortably with guilt as I thought that I was the cause of her pain. It had never occurred to me that laying a hand on Lailahs leg would hurt, but I guess that it was obvious. However, it was a bit strange how it hurt her that much.

Soon, I was lost in a maze of thoughts and theories.

Before long, Lailah began to stir, and slowly came to her senses.

She looked up at me and grinned. "I'm hungry."

I rolled my eyes and smiled. Trust Lailah to say that as soon as she woke up.

"Come on then," I chuckled. "I'll make you something to eat."

I decided not to bring up the case of her leg. I would wait until she felt comfortable enough to mention it herself.

We both got up, and made our way towards the kitchen.

"What do you want to eat?" I asked her, looking through the cupboards.

"Umm…" She looked like she was debating with herself. "Could we maybe sneak out? Like, go and eat in a restaurant?"

    I smiled. "Yeah sure."

I told Lailah to wear something nice. REALLY nice.

We waited until about nine in the evening, and then ran out to my car.

"Woah," Lailah breathed, and ran her hands over the leather seats.

I grinned. My car was the second most important thing to me. I loved it. It was a sleek red Ferrari, with black leather seats and a black interior.

It was just our luck that the gates were open.

I started the engine, and we were out of there. I knew the exact place to take Lailah.

    Lailahs P.O.V.

I looked down and examined my dress that I was wearing.

I had only actually worn it once - at a dinner party my parents had held one night - but it was still beautiful.

It reached the floor, and was a bright, hot pink. It was loose and hanging at the back. Then, as you looked round to the front, they layers of the dress were pulled up and gathered around the ribcage area, in the middle. Above that, there were hundreds and hundreds of tiny diamonds all in a group - they were all real. Finally, a strap came up from the middle of my chest over my shoulder - as it was strapless around the shoulders.

It was gorgeous, and I had jumped at the chance to wear it.

Eventually, Blake pulled to a stop outside a very posh looking hotel.

A gasp escaped my lips. "Blake…where are we?"

    He chuckled nervously.

"Well, you're not going to believe this but…my parents own this place." He said with bated breath, waiting for my response.

    I turned to him.

    "No way. You're kidding me."

    "Nope." He grinned.

"So…does this mean I'm going to met your parents?"

He ran a hand through his hair nervously.

"Well, if you want to. I mean, if you don't want to meet them, we could always go somewhere el-"

"No way!" She practically shrieked. "I totally NEED to meet your parents!"

"Oh good." He visibly relaxed "I just thought I've met practically every single relative, I thought it would be fair for you to at least meet my parents."

"Yeah exactly! Come on, let's go!" I said excitedly, practically shoving Blake out of the car.

    But then I stopped.

"Wait, won't your parents be annoyed that you're not in school?"

    "Nah not really."

Soon, we reached the doors to the hotel. Blake held the huge door open for me. After flashing him a smile, I made my way inside. Blake shortly followed.

He took my hand, and led me through the plush reception.

A pretty woman at the reception smiled at him.

    "Hello, Mr. Stang."

"Hi," he smiled at her politely, going up to the reception.

    "Are there any spare tables?"

"I'm not sure about that." She frowned, thinking. "Sorry, you'll have to go and ask your parents."

"No worries," he assured her, and then we began walking again to a fancy looking room.

The room was very fashionable. There were about thirty tables and up to four chairs at a table. The men were in suits, and the women in glamourous ball gowns. There were then little rooms that went off the main dining area, that were more private.

Near where we were standing, there was a podium. It was a dark mahogany, with ivory twirled around it, right to the top. It was placed so that, if you walked through the door and looked to your right, you would see it.

Standing in front were two, very glamourous adults. They looked about forty years old, probably a bit younger. It was obvious they had been very young when Blakes mother gave birth to him.

His mother was beautiful, and father was handsome. They were a lovely looking couple.

"Hey mom, dad." Blake said as he walked up to the podium, our fingers still entwined.

"Oh, Hi Blake." The man looked up.

"Oh who's this?" Blakes mom said, giving me a warm smile.

"This is Lailah, my girlfriend. Lailah, this is Paige and Simon, my parents."

I shook hands with both of them.

"What is your surname, Lailah?" Paige asked.

"Pierce." I replied, not sure why she was asking.

"Oh, are you the daughter of Elaine and James Pierce?"

    "Yes, why?"

"What a coincidence!" She exclaimed happily. "They're here dining tonight! I overheard them talking about a daughter called Lailah!" She saw my worried face. "Oh don't worry, it was nothing bad! Something about redecorating your bedroom when you came home!"

I began to internally panic. They couldn't see me out of school! My dad would kill me! And this dress hasn't got any arms on it either, they can't see that bruise, why's it called? Oh, the Majisblar!

"Do you want to see them?" Simon asked.

    Blake noticed my alarm.

"Actually, I've already met them. They uh, came to the school once. Can we just get a bite to eat, because we need to get back to school soon."

"Well…okay then. It is free in 12A."

"Okay thanks," Blake said, and I smiled gratefully at them.

We quickly walked over to the table, luckily got there unseen by my parents.

The best thing was that the table was in one of the little rooms off the main dining area, so no one could really us. There was a small corridor you had to go down first, which opened out into a small area, and the whole of one of the walls was glass, so you could look out to sea.

"This is lovely." I breathed, looking around the room, and I smiled at Blake. "Thank you."

    <><><><><><><><>

    Woahh, long chapter! :O
Anyway, love all of the people who have stuck by me! Sorry for MASSIVE wait! <3

  20. Epilogue

    Lailahs P.O.V.

That night was lovely. Once we had finished the meal, we made our way outside and sat on the cliffside, taking in the breathtaking meal.

Eventually, we went back to our dorms.

"Thank you for tonight." I told him genuinely, a grin on my face.

"It's alright." He smiled down at me. It was a heart stopping smile. I had a feeling not many people were lucky enough to see it.

He leaned down to softly kiss me. I returned it, and he pulled away.

"Goodnight." I said, opening the door to my room.

"Goodnight." He replied, smiling at me, and then walking away.

I watched him go and sighed. If I could just run away with Blake, I would. Away from all of this trauma and drama. Away from Brittany, Nick, the headmaster. Anyone who made my life hell.

It took a long time to get to sleep that night. I kept tossing and turning, thoughts whirling around my heads at one hundred miles an hour.

My Majiistræ was strange. When I used it, I felt like not only did I change my skin colour and appearance, but in a way, I changed me as well.

'It is kind of like a changing personality.'

    •••

I bolted upright. I had just had the most horrific dream.

It was about a huge war. There was purple lightning striking the ground, huge chasms in the earth, chaos everywhere.

This was not normal in any way, shape or form. I never got nightmares.

Luckily, a couple of days ago, Blake had given me a key to his dorm. I slipped on my slippers and tip-toed out of my room.

I noticed that Brittanys bedroom light was on, but I didn't really think about it too much.

It wasn't a long walk to Blakes dorm.

I got there quickly and softly opened the door. I needed to talk to someone about this.

As I stepped inside and gently closed the door, I heard some voices from the kitchen. I head over there.

When I walked in, both boys heads turned to look at me. Two pairs of eyes travelled down to my bare legs, as I was just wearing a big t-shirt and my underwear.

"Hey," I started awkwardly. "Uh, why are both of you guys up? It's like, 2 a.m."

"Basically, I had a pretty freaky dream so I came in here to get some water, and Blake came in too." Nick explained.

I tried to not look at their bare chests as they were both only wearing jogging bottoms.

"Yeah, and we realised we had exactly the same dream…no way. Have you had a freaky dream as well?" Blake realised, his eyes going wide.

I nodded solemnly. "Yep." I described the dream to them.

"It's exactly the same as ours!" Nick exclaimed.

We decided to go back to my dorm, and as Brittany was probably awake, we would (try to) ask her if she had a dream too.

    "Yeah totally." She replied.

Eventually, we could hear a quiet mumble as the whole Morges was awake.

"This is really weird." I said, getting a bit freaked out.

So we visited all of the Morge rooms, and they all had exactly the same thing.

Blake, Nick and I (Brittany just tagged along and moaned the whole time) all told every single Morge in our school to get dressed and meet up in the usual clearing where we have our training.

    Soon, we were all there.

"Ok, everyone shut up!" Nick shouted. Everyone fell silent.

"I think I know what this means." Blake said. "Something is coming. Something big."

Omg so this book is finished! As I have left it on a cliffhanger, obviously there will be a sequel.
However, it will be a while until I start writing it, as I want to concentrate on my new story, Help Me, Hades.
Look out for the book named A Split Personality. That will probably be the sequel to A Changing Personality.

To the people who are reading this now, you know who you are! Thank you for being so supportive to me through the thick and the thin. Without you, I probably wouldn't be writing this right now!

I love y'all, and, when I upload it, don't be afraid to check out my new story; Help Me, Hades.
