Re: 2012 All Star War - Results Do not ask admin to "vouch" for the losers inactive or low active members. Our admin didn't have the balls to kick our leaks because "it's a group task". Had they kicked them the war may have ended differently and thus have partial blame to take. Just remove their award as they deserve. Next wars instate an automatic kick for no or very low active players. If after 30 minutes from start auto kick the players that have not attempted a single action.
Re: 2012 All Star War - Results 30 mins is probably not long enough and an automatic kick might come back to bite you in the booty... What if its one of your better players who had a wifi problem that will be sorted out in 45 mins? Better to leave the kicking to admins .. But admins need that kicking ability from the start of the game, not 4 hours in
Re: 2012 All Star War - Results Just because there was treason just makes it more like real war. Same with inactives - it sucks and you should be angry but every team has weak players
Re: 2012 All Star War - Results Don't change the rules after the fact devs. It demeans your game. Some took advantage of it - fix it next time
Re: 2012 All Star War - Results lol mahooka!! I agree but isn't treason a capital offense? Farm them to reset
Re: 2012 All Star War - Results Exactly Lady - take care of it internally they didn't break a rule by being inactive
Re: 2012 All Star War - Results Only rule broken was if an alt was involved - punishment meted out by devs is appropriate
Re: 2012 All Star War - Results @Anarchy Why in the world you you experiment on a war as prestigious as ASW? It doesn't make sense? It should have been done in a beta test war or summer war so all the bugs could have been worked out, but not in the ASW As for the achievement you think is so high and mighty!!! DEVS YOU CAN KEEP IT!! as it means nothing to me with all the BS that went on!! Do I think I earned it? Yes! as I was active in both wars! Do I want it NO!! As it's doesn't account for anything unless it was a fair war, everyone who was active and fought their heart n soul to win deserve it for they fought valiantly to earn it, those who didn't and leaked like the titanic don't !!! So did the devs drop the ball on this one YES!!! Don't blam it all on noobs!! Yes they did there share in screwing things up for the rest, but this should have been thought of way before the ASW
Re: 2012 All Star War - Results Bravo to the Devs for taking action. Hats off to doom and I'm not trying to take anything away from them, but we lost because of inactivity. Aprx. 25% of our clan didn't show up for the finals. By the end we were down around 145 members and still hadn't plugged all the leaks. If doom had a similar issue, they were able to overcome it much more effectively. With everyone active, they may have still beat us but we would have provided a better fight. It's unfair to reward those who dishonored both clans by not showing up. One question to those who think achievements shouldn't be earned: How many participation trophies did your parents buy you for being the last kid picked in kickball, hundreds? Anyways, aside from that I had a great time and met some great warriors. Congrats to doom for the win!
Re: 2012 All Star War - Results This has already been said but it is a valid point and I would like to highlight it. A lot of the bottom plunder players were pinning leaks on our side. They might seem like they were not as active as others in the results but these player are still valued to the team. Please do not penalise these players that show such selfishlessness. I myself was kept pinned almost all of the war and that is why I didn't have as many actions as others. It would be nice if we knew who were the leakers or if leaking counted towards the end player ranking. Having said all that it's been an honour to be part of this years asw and it was definitely an interesting experience with ups and downs.
Re: 2012 All Star War - Results Devs though I was disappinted with asw this time n it wasn't as exciting as last year it's nice to see thus thread to rectify things! Looking forward to it
Just caught up on all the posts since last night. Thank you for all of your feedback. A quick answer to some of the issues that were brought up: * We will be releasing the list of inactives later today for each round within the war. * A lot of you are still concerned that you may be on the list because you weren't contributing any actions. We did not look at the # of actions done by players to determine this list, it was with other metrics. Therefore, you should not be concerned * There were suggestions/ideas for future wars. A lot of them are good and we have noted them. The ones concerning how we qualify and select players were especially good. Thank you. * The claims of cheating that were brought up. Yes, there is evidence that player(s) may have done things which did not align with winning a match. Could we design a system where the impact of this is lesser? Yes, that will be part of our new war system. Could we ever prevent this with the current rules? No. This is a very grey area and if we start looking at individual cases of this, it would 1) Cause an enormous support strain for every war we hold, meaning less wars, less events. 2) There would be a witch hunt at the end of every war with players accusing each other of this, trying to get each other disqualified. Our current rules state that we don't allow alts, that's all we can enforce right now. * The Mod Conspiracy - Let's just put it this way, if we really wanted to do this, would we have made it so blatant? It was simply a roll of the dice, and that was the way the teams were formed. We agree that we should put a filter in next year to test for the # of mods on each team, and this will be done.
Re: 2012 All Star War - Results @kaw_admin, In distributing the awards, "...doing this within the week, but based on the complexity of the situation, it is taking us longer than expected." You announced prior to the ASW what the awards would be based on "how many rounds you win in the tournament". I think I understand your reasoning to breach what you already "promised" - to put a band-aid on one of the aspects to the huge fiasco called the 2012 All Star War, but it's also akin to a breach of contract. You removing admin capability created the majority of the issues. I was in last year's ASW and admins had full admin capabilities. Sure some players were kicked but in the clan I was in, kicking was last resort and was not abused. The participants in this ASW should not be penalized in any way because of your mistake. While I had only 27 successful actions. I was active all but maybe the last hour, keeping myself pinned and using my regen on trying to keep inactives on my side pinned. RedStar, on the other hand, had 490 successful actions. I would guess that the majority of the opposing clan could not hit him if they tried because of his overwhelming bfa so it was easier for him to stay out of pin more often (if he ever needed to be pinned). *Note: I'm not stating anything negative toward RedStar, just using him as an example. We went into the ASW not realizing admins could not kick players until several of us sent emails and feedback. Why couldn't this have been stated ahead of time, rather than during a chaotic situation when it was clear we had leaks? We were then told kicking would be restored around the half-way mark. At that point, you removed admin assignments entirely - no one was an admin, so no one could kick. Now for you to reevaluate activity of ASW players based on whatever mechanics you think is appropriate, is ludicrous. It's too late. What happened, happened, and it's time to move on. Again, it's a band-aid on a gaping wound. You screwed up and the more you try to fix what already happened, the more screwed up it will be. You are being reactive rather than proactive, indicating you either don't care or have no clue what to do. Examples of more egregious acts: 1) players > 10,000 ranking told they were in, then they were told to leave 2) Doom had all but one mod - most doubt that was "random" as you stated previously and if it was, you DID have time to fix it. You know who your mods are and you knew who was where prior to rosters being locked. 3) You're going to evaluate the strips that occurred on pure spies with allies - stripping is a part of WAR. Isn't war in the title of All Star War or am I missing something? Don't disrespect us and treat us all like immature children who will believe everything you post. After last year's ASW issues (that were small compared to this year's), I said I was done participating in one I thought I would give it another chance and that it surely wouldn't be as bad. I was wrong. This year's was much worse. If someone were to grade you on performance, you should get a D in my opinion.
Re: 2012 All Star War - Results The first half of your message was, we believe, you reacting to the chance that you may miss out on the rewards based on the metrics we used. We said multiple times to not worry about the metrics yet, as it isn't purely based on your actions. So please wait until the list is released, then hate us. As for the reactive vs proactive. We are trying to do what is fair for the community, and to reward those that actually deserve it. If we did not care, we would simply have said that everyone gets rewards and save a lot of time. Instead, we want to do what's right for you guys, because we do care. The admin issue has been talked about a lot already. We fixed it for Round 2 onwards. It was a mistake, and the next war event, this will be addressed. The ranking was a coding error on our end, as soon as we realize this, we removed the invalid players. Not going to address the mod conspiracy issue again.
Re: 2012 All Star War - Results Hello Kaw_admin. Any luck you looked at my post in utilizing androids features? Here it is again. I agree with all echoed thoughts on implementing Android function of viewing war participation. Seeing how KAW is wanting to revamp wars then I would simply also add the ability to allow all -- Pc, IPhone -- the ability to view who is leading and who is not participating. It's rather annoying to see the end results ONLY. That's like hearing about a great baseball, soccer, football, UFC fight/match and then hearing they will only allow the very end results! We should all be granted the ability to view everyone's functions and plunder gained in the war. It adds for greater incentive to participate! I would personally love it on my iPhone. Seeing how well I'm doing would encourage me to play harder or encourage others. It's a very important update much needed by KAW kingdom please. Please consider this new update as part of the revamp in warring in KAW. All in all the new feature to update viewing of wars at anytime participation would maximize participation and increase the fun factor. Sounds like a winning update for all.
