Yup, just because you're ranked 801 doesn't mean you should have less chance than the guy ranked 9,999, but surely the guy ranked 8 deserves the spot more than either of you? Note. I pulled these particular ranks out of thin air, and am not referring to specific players. On a side note, and this isn't new, how next year about running a "Small Stars War" alongside the ASW? Yes, it's yet another round of wars for the Devs to manage, but surely if they ran the wars, signups, etc at the exact same time as the ASW equivalent, it wouldn't require that much duplication of effort. Alternately, if the Dev resources are already stretched too thin managing the ASW, run the SSW on a 1 or 2 hr delay behind the ASW. use all the same systems that are already in place for the ASW, but 2hrs later. If they did this, perhaps they could then limit eligibility for the ASW somewhat more than it is currently.
Being Australian is hard, signed up early, single post, alarm after the time required, wrote the phase correctly, and didnt even make the wait list, why? I worked hard the last year getting into top 3k so I didn't miss the ASW and now whatever -.-
First and foremost congrats to all who made it on roster! Last years was a blast, and hopefully this one, while a different format, will be just as fun for you guys! Second, in my opinion when u have potentially 10k people fighting for so few spots inequity and feelings of unfair process are going to run rampant, it can't be helped. The only point I agree with being made on this thread so far is, sign up time was a bit unfair for players on the other side of the world. Two sign up times would have been nice one for each side of the world, with equal slots available at each start time. Ex: have a sign up at 12 pm, and 12 am PST with 800 slots available for each sign up. First 800 to post in each that are stat eligible get the slots. This seems easiest to me to provide a semblance of equal opportunity for all players. In terms of definition of an "all star" warrior, I know many players ranked below 2000 on overall LB with more warring prowess and experience then many ranked above them. No offense to any of the current participants but I guarantee there are people on this current roster who have never participated in a system war much less know what "self pin" means...and i definitely don't even want to think about how many def pots some of those players have...or maybe should say don't have lol A true "All Star" war, in my opinion should be a war in which the best warriors, regardless of rank, put aside past grudges, come together and put on one spectacular show for the rest of the community to watch with the hope of one day being that "good" to "honor" the addictive game we love so much. But alas, 3 years after the release of KAW there is still no viable way to rank war experience...battle rank just means you are hella active and like xstals...a helpful trait when warring but far from the only necessary factor to be a great warrior in my opinion. So I guess if you can't actually collect/rank the "best" warriors, what's the big deal in making the event's evolved purpose into getting the community excited about warring? Many of us complain the new players have no desire to war, but judging by the people who tried to sign up, I would say we were wrong; they are just waiting for the right opportunity to do it, which this ASW is providing. Perhaps a name change to just "Anniversary War" in the future may be more appropriate though lol So for those of you that didn't make it this year, chill out and drink with me instead, while cheering on your clan mates. This war is a celebration that the game we love has made it through another year, and lets hope the devs remain committed to improving the game to keep us interested enough until we get another shot next year

I salute you LP. Elegantly written. I can say one good thing that comes out of the current ranking system is that some EB-Noobs (formerly pWar Noobs) get a taste for war out of this and actually stick with it. Another is the amazing conversations that happen between Red Faced Veterans screaming at HLBC-Noob Accounts who are asking questions like "what does 4/4/9 np mean" and "What?! there is stripping! I am outta here" I may make a form for "Best of ASW Clan Chat ScreenShots" to be posted in for kicks. Grab some popcorn!
@ kaw_admin - it looks like so many are disappointed they didn't make the cut. It's a yearly event that many were expecting with enthusiasm. Maybe It would be fair to increase the participant list to 2,000 participants. Make 10 clans instead of 8, and add a round, maybe. Just a suggestion.
Support LP. I like the "Anniversary War" versus "All Star War" title since each of the four clans will undoubtedly have MANY eb noobs and others without REAL war experience (like last year but my guess is worse). So, I'll probably just ignore most of the chatter in cc and do my own thing, while laughing at the noobs freaking out because they're being pinned by an opponent and don't know what to do. As for all the people I've seen so far complaining about #ASW2012 post, the same thing happened last year. We were to post something very specific to KaW's wall and not deviate. If we deviated, we didn't get in...simple. Even now as I type, there are players posting to KaW's wall to apply to the ASW. Seriously people?? Wulf, I look forward to the ss after ASW.
