I gotta say, I'm rather enjoying the Eragon Book series - yes, I know they first came out in 2002, but I was looking for a GoT, LOTR, etc type series to tithe me over - if you haven't read them, I'm close to finishing the first book (no spoilers please) and can't wait to get my hands in the second one. I heard the latest (4th) book in the series came out a few years ago. I know they made a movie, kinda out of them; I wonder if they will make a TV series out of them Question for the group: any other book series like the ones I mentioned above you would recommend?
On a separate note, I was gonna grab "Inferno" to read; Tom Hanks is staring in the movie to be released in next year. Same genre as the Angels and Demons § Davinci Code movies
My ears are always burning. But thats cuz im constantly getting screamed at by the Sluards as well as other very motivating individuals. Eragon is a good series.
Where's potter? I haven't heard from him in ages and he hasn't posted in here. RIP I know this forum update has been out for ages but I proper don't rate it. So hard to spot names from text etc. It just doesn't work Imo I'm still buzzing from the end of S6 of GoT. That was a madness. Never read the books but I need to. Yo what's up to the new people on this thread I just spotted while reading this back I think this is my 6th year "playing" this game, and it's honestly insane how much it has changed. Like I started back when there was only T1,2 and 3
Omg do you remember that time when that B0i-1da majesty was #1 for like 2-3 years, and when that dude teja had a emotional breakdown and reset. still have no idea why he did that
I didn't mind Eragon, but I found it largely plagiarism of other fantasy ideas. The movie was beyond rubbish. As far as fantasy goes, if you like brutal Martin-esque stuff, you will probably enjoy Brent Weeks Night Angel trilogy. He's savage. Or Robin Hobbs Assassin trilogy. I prefer less gory fantasy though, like the Belgariad by David Eddings, LOTR obviously by Tolkien, the Green Rider series by K Britain. The Roses of Roazon by Baldry is a favored standalone. Or Sorcerers Son. OMG I need to shut up. I'm too into this.
Best one I've read is The Hobbit. Wonderful. As in movies, I think nothing helps my midget fetish than LOTR.
Robert Jordan's wheel of time was good. Until he died. that guy that wrote the last three books....not as good.
I'll let you know when I'm finished Daph, these books are like 700-800 pages each and not fast reads, but I must say I'm really enjoying it. I like the series books in the hopes I stubble on the next GoT, Harry Potter or LOTR movie/tv series. So yeah, been enjoying my leisure reading a lot lately
my top two series yet to be converted to tv: The Ketty Jay series by Chris Wooding (steampunk/alternate reality), and the Abhorsen Trilogy by Garth Nix (necromancy/alternate reality). ... In part because after 3 seasons of a show, I lose interest.
