oh well that's perfect! it isn't really a "stray" cat! it belongs to the people across the street. but he has taken up residence on my porch ever since i found him shivering during the freezing rain we had the other night. i dried him off, fed him, and made him a little tent with a blanket and a small step ladder.

now he won't leave.

so technically, you would be an accomplice in stealing him from bad owners.
