Just made some calculations on the minimum static stats needed to hit certain ebs using my calculator tool. I found a value of 31.75m static stats needed to avoid any fails on hauntings. With one CoE lvl3 at 4% troops and a castle, you possess almost 3.2m att (raw stats). You now have to add the influence of personal and clan achievements as well as propacks and resets. This leaves you with roughly 28.5m needed BFE/BFA (that you'll have to get from allies, equip or pots)
Last time I had tested without the influence of any such things, 34.3m was the value I acquired, hence my answer. Kassio provides a much closer analysis, as I'm sure my data is likely out of date. Thanks for the update kassio.
Equipment drops from certain ebs (there is great guide made by wulf explaining which EB drops what piece of equipment in the strategy section) or you can buy some equip with mithril.

It could be a reset player who is an owner of a clan so the player is not found but the name is still taken. Can't think of anything else that would cause that
