What do people mean when "the equipment resets"?

 

The equipment resets when an enchantment fails, however, kaw has revoked this on most items.

Looses all upgrading
And you lose two hundred dollars

GU, most equipment still do reset. The later released equipment of the paladin set do not reset though.
