actually they increase your size difference to the eb so you will make less money if you put up a tower after having it an open land
While that may be true for the average player hitting a haunting, a tower has little to no difference on plunder. That factor only comes in with masses of BFA.
Upgrading guilds or any attack building will increase your plunder/allies bonus, depending on the EB or player stats you are hitting. Building towers takes up land which could otherwise be used for generating income. And they may also cause your plunder/ab to actually decrease depending on where you are on the plunder curve for a particular target (e.g. EB). It's a hard decision you have to make...go with towers so you can do wars (otherwise no reason for towers) or go with the best plunder build.

No such thing. There are OSWs, which are Off System Wars (i.e. clans just fight it out without using the system war algorithm/protocol)...those could last a day or a year. EE wars are seasonal wars. Then, there are the All Star Wars (ASWs) which normally occur once per year, though it's uncertain if they will happen this year.
A build that falls under the towered build mechanics, which I believe you need 75% of your buildings to meet. Just set the resize to the 320 pixel option, save it to your camera roll, then go back to photobucket and upload. The whole 'bfa with tower builds thing' is so that you will have a way to make money because lets face it, tower builds don't make much. Having bfa(more allies) will allow you to make gold quickly as a tower build.
