✯Why Are We Here?✯

  1. Scientifically speaking it is just as meaningless to deny our lives a meaning as it is to state that there is some. Since we humans will always have to cope with burdens of our self consciousness, that is not to say that the question about the meaning of life is not sensible.

As the introduction of this thread illustrates we keep having trouble not to equate questions about the meaning of life with the question about the existence of a super being. I wish we departed with our metaphysical tradition to project ourselves into a super being. Alienating ourselves thus from the species that did such a remarkable job at sheltering itself from the forces that undermine its existence. If we have to resolve a deep psychological need to lift up our existence by sheer speculation, let us be aware of the endless range of explanations that are just as sensible, as they are silly, as it is to claim the existence of God. We can imagine to lift up our existence without devaluating ourselves by narrowing down our speculation to questions concerning a self alienating super being.

We humans did such a remarkable job in taking care of ourselves that we might overdid it by having the power to destroy ourselves and arguably anything else on this planet. It is time to take credit for this and to reward ourselves by liberating our imagination from a 25 centuries old tradition to solve the tensions of our self consciousness by projecting it outside and over us.

  4. The real question, OP, is why are you even here?

  5. I am here to question everything.

  6. We are here to make spicy memes

  7. One of life's great mysteries isn't it? Why are we here? I mean, are we the product of some cosmic coincidence? Or is there really a God, watching everything. You know, with a plan for us and stuff. I don't know man, but it keeps me up at night.

  8. Get rid of your NWO tags and go to sleep.

  9. Hahaha

  10. What about the multiverse, infinite universes, you were bound to exist.

  11. Never

  12. We are the offspring of history, and as such, must establish our own paths in this diverse and most interestingly conceivable universe, one indifferent to our suffering, and therefore offering us maximum freedom to thrive, or to fail, in our own chosen way.

  13. Life is a meaningless part of the universe with no use other than to feed ones selfish habits of trying to keep life going just that bit longer.

However humans are so big headed that we think we are important and we won't accept that we will die or that we have no meaning.

Just to put it into perspective all life is a chemical reaction and all chemical reaction spread, consume and fizzle out.

  14. You give my life purpose.

  15. But without religion man would become beats not all but most, our rapture predicts this. Its one thing that the bible knows is human nature. Which CANNOT be change, I know of humans good qualities, your preaching to another human, did you forget? You talk about being stagnant? Lol that's typical of an atheist who believes people are dumb because they have a religion. I hate atheist, most need to realize. that they are just stupid humans like the rest of us. Their. just gonna be brought down by their own hubris

  16. Humans think themselves so important they don't wanna die, religion teaches us to get over ourselves, to be humble. Its so easy to call yourself an atheist more then a Christian, you don't have to do anything. Most atheist are buttholes cause their pissed off and wanna stick it to the world

  17. Che-
I would like to say that your views aren't perfect and that hate does not validate your point. I noticed in the religion thread as well that you tend to be a bit extreme. Everyone needs to view everybody as humans. That means don't dehumanize anyone on any basis. Before you enter an argument, make sure you have questioned your own motivation first.

  18. You "hate" atheists huh? How very christian of you.
Thank you for proving my point about religion ;)

  19. We are all inconceivably insignificantly insignificant and have no real purpose in the universe, our purpose is not to find our purpose because we have no purpose. Any sense of need want and purpose are imaginary and do not really exist. It's all in your head. This is one planet in a solar system in a galaxy in a universe in a dimension in practically infinite dimensions. No matter what we do we will end up dying without making any real difference to 99.99999999999999999999999999999999% of existence. However since what we see and feel and think is real to us, we see false purpose and see false cause and effect. We have a sense of reality that an alien species could look at the same thing and see something completely different. We could see a red apple, they could see an orange Apple that penetrates multiple dimensional barriers. Basically what I'm trying to say is ... EVERYTHING IS IN YOUR HEAD AND ONLY IN YOUR HEAD!!!

    Think about that

  20. If you would look back at my first post on pg 9 of this thread, would you be able to see something compatible with what you are saying?
