How ironic is it that this seems to be the only situation where 'listen and respect your elders' doesn't seem to be applicable? This is NOT the end of the world, yes there 'may' be job losses short term, good job we have very low unemployment huh? All this negativity and resentment is sickening. The result would probably have been different.. If Remain had campaigned positively. Think of it like this, were outside the EU, do you WANT to join a political institution that demands you pay it to abide by its rules, lose the ability to forge new trade deals and has a youth unemployment that's soaring high? REALLY?
Our elders are apparently mentally challenged The pound has seen its historically biggest drop overnight and lost 174bln$ u.s in that same time period This is the decision that will start the fall and the eventual collapse of the U.K
The pound did see a massive drop, but did we really expect anything else? People are afraid of the unknown, almost every expert I've heard has said that it will stabilise again. Also, Trump suggests that the drop of the pound might eventually be a good thing for the UK and will mean that he does more business with Britain. No matter what views you have of Trump as a presidential candidate, I'm sure most of you can still agree that he is a genius businessman.
Last I checked, the UK was ranked 6th in the world for education, the 2nd best western country for education. 8 spots above America, 6 spots above Germany and a spot above Canada. I'm not seeing what is subpar about being ranked better.
Oh well, if Trump said it... Cheer up mate, you already have an old wall half built between you and the soon former member of the UK, Scotland, and you can always send a few more partroopers to Belfast to keep the uppity Erse in their place. I love all of the "in the short term" responses - yeah don't worry about manufacturing relocating to the actual EU, investment leaving the City, salaries dropping and inflation rising, don't worry about the rules changing for expats in both countries, don't worry about R&D seeking new shores, it's just going to be for a few years. In the mean time the EU-Canada free trade agreement will not include the UK.
Trump is just a genius scammer. Nothing less, nothing more. I keep hearing how great it is for an economy to have a weak currency. That is true... For a country who have resources. And UK has finished most of them. So a UK increase exports and increase the price of raw materials. Basically the manufacturers profit due a weak currency will be close to nothing. And now about the regular citizens...a weak currency translate into inflation. EVERYTHING you buy will be more expensive. The interest rate will go up aswell. If you have a mortgage, bad luck...but maybe you can relax. maybe will be better in maybe 10 years if maybe things won't get better but worse.
The education score is possibly reflective of all the "subpar" students they've had inflicted on them from Europe n other "cosmopolitan" areas of the world ...... Like the Middle East. I doubt it's true though..... Most of them wouldn't attend school
Actually the worst demographic for education currently is white male children from poor backgrounds. Maybe investment in communities would be much better for the country.
Still while the UN's agenda 21 looms large.... Brexit will be small fry compared to what they're grand scheme is, don't just leave the EU, quit the UN
 This. Chavette explains why she wants to leave the EU. Whether the video is real or not, the average "informed" voter for leave is similar to this lady.
Jobs relocating to the EU is not short term. That's long term. 9000 jobs yesterday were announced by banks to be relocated to Europe. Pay to join a union. We have been told we will get no favourable deals. We paid 10billion a year In future that will rise to based on WTA figures and last years trade 80 billion a year. So we get to pay the eurozone 8 times more. Now I agree juncker is the worst part of the EU. It is a failed system and a dictatorship now. But that doesn't change an exit plan should have been implemented first. Deals should have been made first. And that the poor in the UK again will carry the highest burden for the foreseeable future. Stating people were wrong to be concerned about the economy based on a moral high ground is hardly acceptable, when the basis for a moral high ground has cost thousands their jobs and destroyed the ability of thousands to provide for their familes. Those people will not remain positive. And the years of hardship this generation endures won't be happy or positive ones. As I said. Best hope. Have the union fail and have individual trade deals at better rates. The EU had their chance to listen and failed. The new norm is instability and political hardball. For better or worse the damage is done. Shame we can't buy British cars like rover now to support the UK car manufacturing industry.
The same could be said about the average voter for remain. I don't think anyone was really given enough information to really make a good, well informed decision for either side. Thus, they either had to go research it themselves, or go by what they hear or are told which leads to votes that aren't the personal opinions of people, but the opinions of those around them.
Honestly from what I have seen is that this statement is pretty true. There are a lot of people on the out side who were racist (not all but there were some) and there were people on the remain side who were too lazy to look up facts and figures or were scared of the whole thing so went with the "safe" option and decided to keep things as they were. Both sides had their merits although out was better off from what I have seen so far.
Meanwhile in some parts of the world it's Monday already and markets started to work. On Tokyo market the pound continue to slide...1.9% so far.
